Chapter 4061 MU: The Superbody Incident (141)
A blue figure appeared at the other end of the room. He was strong, handsome, and had a circular symbol on his head. More importantly, he looked exactly like Batman from the main universe.
He slowly walked towards the main universe's Batman, then stood in front of him and said, "Is she the one you're looking for?"
“Yes.” The main universe Batman turned back, looking at the frozen Superman behind him, and said, “They gave her a perfect body, a vibrant soul, a heart that beats for love. But we should give her more, so that she can become a true… Superman.”
"You went through all this trouble just to create a persona for her?" the blue-clad figure said as she stepped forward.
"Only God can stand against God." The Batman of the main universe remained calm as he said, "If God doesn't love humanity, then we'll find another God."
"Are you really sure?" the blue-clad figure asked, looking at him. "Things might not turn out the way you imagine. Don't you think this approach is still too risky?"
“We’re running out of time,” the main universe Batman said. “She was right about one thing: we do need her.”
The blue figure fell silent. He simply turned to look at the superhuman.
In that instant, the same projection appeared across multiple dimensions. Time, space, and consciousness traversed rapidly like the wind, as bright as the sun. Countless characters emerged, then formed a long formula—"Life Equation = solicitude + Affinity + courage + hope + self-worth ÷ encouragement ÷ praise ÷ understanding × comfort × confidence × success × forgiveness = y where y = hope and n = Brilliance, love = truths, life = eternity, self = bright future"
At this single point, boundless light erupted, as intense as hundreds of thousands of suns. The light overwhelmed everything, and certain changes were quietly taking place beneath its glow. And almost all life sensed the arrival of some special power.
Strange rushed in first. He and Stark exchanged a glance and uttered the same word: "Lucy!"
Stark covered his forehead and said, "She's changed. She..."
“Batman must have done something to her,” Strange said with absolute certainty. “We only gave her a body; Ultron ignited her soul. And now, Batman has granted her an incredibly powerful ability. What is it?”
“You don’t know either?” Stark asked, looking at him.
Strange slowly shook his head, then said, "It's powerful, but also unfamiliar. It shouldn't be the power of our universe. But it has extremely strong vitality. Perhaps it's the primordial power of their universe."
"What exactly does Batman want?" Stark asked. "He not only wants to use us to destroy Apokolips, but he also wants to create a god in our universe?"
Strange snorted and said, "The idiots in our main universe only want to fight, little do they know that the main universe might have already planned thousands of years into the future."
“What’s worse is that we might not even be able to beat them,” Stark said. “What level is the current version of Lucy? Is he stronger than Thor?”
"You should think about this question: Who exactly is it that allows Lucy to evolve?"
"Isn't he the main universe's Batman?"
"Perhaps it was his plan, but he certainly didn't carry it out. He's just an ordinary human being; he doesn't have that kind of power."
Stark pursed his lips and said, "Perhaps...perhaps it's a demon god from their side?"
“If it were that simple, that would be great. Do you think they don’t have someone like the Scarlet Witch over there?” Strange said as he walked out. “We’ll find out what’s going on once we try.”
"What are you going to do?"
"Attack the Dark Quadrant."
When Strange entered the other conference room, Doctor Strange and his team were already there. They all looked worried and slightly flustered, clearly affected by the changes that had just occurred to them.
"In my visualization, I saw the birth of a deity, but it wasn't the familiar primordial power; it was something completely foreign. What is going on?"
“Alright, great scientists,” Strange said with a hint of sarcasm, “or perhaps great commanders, stop researching these things. We must go to the new base across the street and prevent them from setting up defenses.”
"But why not send the main force?"
"Given their current strength, the most effective way they can protect their new base is by building a magical defense network. So, it's our responsibility to sabotage it. Let's hurry, or they'll have it all set up."
Strange was obviously talking nonsense. While he wasn't entirely wrong, that wasn't his intention. He wanted to use Doctor Strange's life to test what kind of thing Batman had acquired.
Doctor Strange and his team had no choice but to go. They knew how poorly they had performed, and if they continued like this, they would never be able to hold their heads high among the superheroes of the multiverse. Even if they died on this trip, at least it would be a heroic sacrifice.
So they set off quickly. Before long, portal after portal appeared outside the Dark Quadrant.
We could only say that we had arrived at the designated coordinates, but we did not see the Dark Quadrant. It was completely empty, as if there was nothing there at all.
Doctor Strange and his team used their illusion magic to smash things up, but they found nothing, as if the Dark Quadrant had never existed.
Strange's face turned grim. He said, "They might have gone to another dimension."
"Other dimensions? What other dimensions are there here?" the other Doctor Strange said.
“It might not have existed before, but it does now.”
"Are you kidding me? They created a dimension themselves? Wouldn't that make them the dimensional lords?"
Strange remained silent. He knew the worst had happened: a true god had arrived.
According to their definition of gods, beings like Mephisto are not gods, but merely cosmic demons. The reason is that the dimension they possess was not created by themselves. They simply occupy it and bind themselves to that dimension. This dimension was still created by the Creator.
The true God, like eternity, possesses the power of creation, capable of opening up dimensions and creating the universe.
Therefore, Darkseid is not actually a god, because he didn't create Apokolips. He merely possessed the Apokolips Domain; he didn't inherently possess the ability to create. Even the Scarlet Witch, who wielded the chaotic power of the universe, cannot be considered a god unless she has the ability to create her own universe.
“Don’t worry, I’ve created a separate dimension for the Dark Quadrant. They can’t enter.” The blue figure told the main universe’s Batman. “Not only can they not enter, but they can’t even observe this place without my permission. It’s perfectly safe here.”
"Thanks." The main universe Batman turned to the figure and said, "I asked you to come because I just wanted to write the life equation into the soul of the transhuman. You don't have to get involved in this war. You can leave now, or go say hello to them."
"After all, I'm Batman, so helping you is the right thing to do. By the way, about what you asked me before about the connection between Night Owl and the other Doctor Manhattan, I've already found out. Would you like to hear it?"
The two of them walked out together, and the main universe Batman said, "Tell me, I'm quite curious how he got in touch with Doctor Manhattan."
"The person he actually knew wasn't Dr. Manhattan, but the Comedian from the Watchmen team. During a mistaken time travel, the Comedian ended up in the universe where Nite Owl lives. Nite Owl saved him, and that's how they met."
"Would Night Owl be so kind as to save someone?"
"Rather than saying they admired each other, it's more like they were birds of a feather," the other person said. "Neither of them are good people, so they became friends. This time, it was probably Night Owl who contacted the Comedian, and the Comedian asked Dr. Manhattan to rescue Night Owl."
The main universe's Batman nodded to indicate he understood. By this time, they had arrived at the entrance to the conference hall. When they entered, the hall was bustling with noise and chatter.
"You say the Batman of the main universe is weak, but are you really that powerful? You're right, you didn't make any mistakes, because you didn't even appear. The Batman of the main universe is weaker than air, I'm truly sorry!"
"I told you I was late because I was injured, but I still came, didn't I? Are you going to deny me even a chance to practice because of your prejudice against me? Are all Batmen this stubborn?"
"You still know you're not Batman?"
"Does this mean that someone other than Batman can't lead a multiverse team? This is blatant tyranny! You should show all the superheroes your hideous faces!"
"Alright." The main universe's Batman stood at the front of the crowd.
"You actually came," Night Owl said, feigning exaggeration. "I thought you were going to hide for a while longer."
"I never thought of running away." The main universe Batman remained calm. He said, "If you insist on saying that everything that has happened since the start of the war is my failure and use it as the basis for your wisdom, I will not stop you from exposing your shortcomings, nor will I stop you from embarrassing yourself in the multiverse."
Night Owl was taken aback again. Why was the Batman from the main universe so sharp? More importantly, why was he so self-righteous? Shouldn't he be humbly reflecting on his mistakes, admitting them, and then reassuring everyone?
Superman nudged Batman with his elbow and said, "You're right, Superman's gone, he's stopped pretending."
“I think he’s got a lot of anger to vent,” Batman said in a low voice. “He can’t take it out on us, so Owl just walked right into the line of fire.”
"But I don't understand what he's angry about. Okay, even if his universe's Superman sacrificed himself first, he should have been mentally prepared beforehand, right? But now he's acting like a wicked widow."
"Keep your voice down," Batman quickly stopped him, "You should stay away from that young Bruce. I think you've become vicious too."
"Honestly, I don't know where he got such a grudge from. I tried to comfort him, but he ignored me," Superman said, pouting. "Maybe he's thinking, 'If only I were the one who died, instead of Superman from his universe.'"
“Don’t say that, he’s not that malicious.” Batman the Adventurer shook his head and said, “He’s probably angry because of something else.”
"What else could it be?"
"Everyone here is a bit dim-witted; they really treat what happened before as a defeat. It's normal to get a little angry after talking to a brick wall for so long."
The Adventurer was completely bewildered. He said, "What else could it be but a defeat? Could it be a victory worth celebrating?"
"It might not be a victory for us, but for him it would be a huge win. If I could tear down Darkseid's house in our universe, I would throw a global celebration party."
Before he could finish speaking, the main universe's Batman interjected, "I didn't want to use such words to describe any of my colleagues, because it's clearly a personal attack. Anyone who knows me should know that I'm not such a malicious person. But you, Owl, your stupidity is a bit beyond my imagination. I ask you, where did I fail?"
"You haven't won a single battle! And you've lost so many troops," Night Owl said with a slightly somber tone. "Am I supposed to cheer for your success?"
"That's not necessary. But I think Darkseid in your universe would be very happy with what you've accomplished."
"Achievements? What achievements?"
"Of course, it will be a complete failure. We'll just watch him build Apokolips into the most fortified fortress in the universe, plunder the cosmos with impunity, and recruit countless Parademons to form an army, until one day he invades Earth. Oh, I forgot, you are a universe where good and evil are reversed, so one day you'll come to Earth to preside over a truly just trial and send you to the guillotine of justice."
“Uh…” Night Owl felt like he’d been choked. He suddenly realized that the biggest loss at the moment was the destruction of their base, Apokolips, which, for the main universe Batman, was something worth throwing a three-day, three-night party for.
The main universe's Batman continued, "...or when some mysterious beings descend upon the universe, saying they want to bring the universe back to a lifeless, desolate era, they can't think of any way to stop them, so they have no choice but to submit and be used up, then discarded like trash, making them think that all humans in the universe are like you."
After speaking, the main universe's Batman stopped looking at him and turned to look at the door. At that moment, a graceful figure walked in.
"Let me introduce you. This is Lucy—the new god of the multiverse."
As she drew nearer, everyone felt a surge of vitality, as if all negative emotions had been swept away. When the faint light dissipated, people saw a familiar yet unfamiliar face—features somewhat like Natasha's, but with eyes and brows reminiscent of Batman. More importantly, there was a pair of indescribable, compassionate, and affectionate blue eyes.
“And this one…” The main universe Batman looked at the blue figure beside him and said, “He is also a member of Batman, but by chance his life form changed. You can call him… Manhattan Batman.”
The Equation of Life is something I made up.
