Chapter 202 Subduing the Minotaur
Chapter 202 Subduing the Minotaur
Upon seeing this, Minotaur questioned, "What does Your Majesty mean by this? Are these multi-headed lizards that came to attack us your subordinates?" As he spoke, Minotaur's newly healed wounds began to throb, which made him increasingly angry.
Argreed looked at the strongest minotaur, who was over five meters tall, covered in thick black mane, with muscles that looked tougher than steel. His huge horns were almost exaggerated in size, with sharp tips, making them perfect weapons for charging.
The Minotaur was clad in armor plundered from who-knows-where, and wielded massive stone axes with both hands. His immense strength allowed him to wield these weapons effortlessly, and his blood-red eyes radiated a tyrannical aura.
"If he had better equipment, he might be able to fight Otto to a standstill," Agred thought.
Agreed got straight to the point: "I need powerful warriors, and that was just a test. You have passed, great Tauren warriors. Now I also want to show my sincerity and hope that you will serve me."
Minotaur looked at Agreed and asked, "What can you bring us?"
Agreed then tempted them, saying, "A warm home, abundant food, and endless glory in battle—submit to me, follow me to conquer and expand your territory, and I will unleash the deepest savagery in your blood, making you an indelible nightmare for your enemies. Vast territories will be in our hands, and this resource-rich planet will become the true home of the Tauren!"
After weighing the pros and cons, the Minotaur finally threw his axe to the ground, knelt on one knee, and led the way in shouting, "The Minotaur believe in strength and worship the strong. You are a rare and powerful being. The Minotaur race is impressed by your strength. Great dragon, the Minotaur pledges his allegiance to you."
The minotaurs behind looked at each other, then knelt down and said in unison, "We are willing to share our master's burdens."
Agreed grinned and said, "Very good, what's your name?" Then he pointed to the Minotaur and asked.
Minotaur immediately replied, "Great master, my name is Minotaur."
Agreed commanded, “I now appoint you as commander of all the minotaur warriors, and I will name the minotaur army you form ‘Dragon Horn.’ Your first task is to do your best to bring all the minotaurs in the underworld under your command. I don’t want my elite force to be so small.”
“Yes, Master!” Minotaur responded loudly.
In the days that followed, the Minotaur led his minotaur warriors, in the name of the Dragonhorn Army, to subjugate all their fellow minotaurs in the vicinity. In just five days, the minotaur army grew to a size of two thousand.
Seeing that everything was in place, Agreed immediately ordered the Hydra and Minotaur to lead their forces to attack the underground city of the Grey Dwarves.
Although these monsters number less than ten thousand, don't forget that both the Abyssal Multi-Headed Lizard and the Minotaur are terrifying behemoth-level monsters. So this group of less than three thousand people managed to create the terrifying aura of a million-strong army.
A massive army of monsters swaggered up to the walls of the gray dwarves' city. The Minotaur, axe in one hand and pointing the other at the walls, roared, "Dwarves, your end has come! Today, by the command of my lord, we have conquered your race. Now, only one path lies before you: surrender! My lord guarantees that if you are sensible, we will not harm the gray dwarves in the slightest. But if you remain obstinate, we will destroy your city, plunder your treasures, and slaughter your warriors. Now tell me your choice!"
The king of the gray dwarves stood atop the city wall, clad in yellow-gray alloy armor and wearing a glittering crown. But to be honest, his bald head was far more eye-catching than the crown. The two complemented each other, creating a dazzling display of multicolored lights, much like the gaudy special effects lighting in a ballroom.
The Grey Dwarf King roared, "You Minotaur bastards, you really don't know your place! Do you think I'll be afraid of you just because you've teamed up with a few useless beasts? The Grey Dwarf race swears to never surrender! Our strong walls will make you die a humiliating death here. If you're not afraid of death, then go ahead and try!"
At that moment, a loud dragon roar resounded throughout the empty underground world. The Grey Dwarf King was so frightened by the majestic roar that he fell to the ground. Agreed slowly flew into the Grey Dwarfs' field of vision from behind. At this moment, Agreed once again put pressure on them, saying, "Grey Dwarfs, are you sure you want to be an enemy of me and my people?"
After recovering from his brief shock, the Grey Dwarf King looked at Agred and roared arrogantly, "Trash dragon, we are protected by the gods. Even if you came here, you would surely die!"
Agreed was completely stunned. His size was now comparable to that of an ancient dragon, but he never expected that the gray dwarf in front of him would completely ignore his presence. How could this be? Unless... they had something else to rely on.
Thinking of this, Agreed immediately activated his soul vision to explore the entire gray dwarf city, but still found nothing. This made Agreed wary. With his current strength, only beings related to the word "god" could deceive his senses. This made Agreed wonder how the gray dwarves could possibly be related to those gods.
The Grey Dwarves are actually a branch that split off from the Dwarves. Most of them are criminals and exiles among the Dwarves. These Grey Dwarves ancestors, who were stripped of everything, had no choice but to come to the dark underground world to find a way to survive. In the end, they survived and were changed by the environment into bald Dwarves (including females) who are afraid of bright light.
Grey dwarves are incredibly strong. While not immune to common toxins, they are unaffected by magical or alchemical poisons. Furthermore, they possess extremely high resistance to paralysis and charm. Grey dwarves are born with the ability to enlarge and diminish their presence in the dark, and most have exceptional psionic talents—qualities not found in ordinary dwarves. The harsh environment has made them the most powerful branch of dwarves, but this doesn't give them enough confidence to confront dragons. After all, even encountering a common adult black dragon in the underworld would terrify grey dwarves, let alone a powerful dragon like Agreed, which looks even more imposing than a black dragon.
Argreed stared at the gray dwarf city before him. It seemed there was something very unusual here. But whatever it was, nothing on this planet could threaten his life anymore. Even if a god descended in his true form, Argreed would have a fighting chance.
So Agreed gave the order: "Attack! Except for the female grey dwarves, the children, and those dwarven craftsmen who can forge, all other grey dwarves, including that arrogant dwarf king with the shiny head, do not care if they live or die. Go, my kin!"
