Chapter 3820 The School Doctor's "Daily Life" (Thirty-Five)

"Oh, I see. So magical energy is actually the all-powerful etheric force, and it can be compressed just like other energies, resulting in a qualitative change during the compression process. Therefore, the electron movement of energy itself is a kind of force; it doesn't need to be directly output like a magician, but rather energy can be compressed using certain methods..."

In a room beneath the castle, the main universe Batman and the Arkham Batman are studying Stark's magical energy core.

Stark organized a magical mechanics research club, and many Batmen signed up, but the most enthusiastic were the main universe Batmen and Arkham Batmen. Strange approved their use of a room in the basement as an activity room, but also warned them not to cause any trouble.

Stark acquired several Jaegers, expecting praise from Batman, but neither of them showed any interest. Their only interest lay in the magical cores Stark used for plugging and unplugging and the arc reactor in his chest.

Between the two, they were more interested in the magic core. Although it was actually just a device for storing energy, the two Batmen saw something else in it.

"This material won't do."

"Yes, although it has good compatibility with magical energy and can prevent energy leakage well, it is too conservative."

"Yes, that's too conservative. There should be better options."

What do you think of the crystal ball?

"You mean the one you used to create the magic network? It's a bit better than this, but I think there are even better materials."

"Has Dr. Schiller been spending every night in the Enchanted Forest lately?"

“That’s right. He’s probably still teaching Night Owl about contracts. We can go over there tonight and see if we have any better materials.”

"What are you talking about?" Stark asked, sitting at the table in his mech suit. "What happened to Schiller? What contract?"

"It's nothing. We're planning to go to Dr. Schiller's office to see if there are any better materials for storing magical energy."

"You're planning to steal from him?!" Stark said, somewhat shocked. "You haven't just met Schiller today, have you?"

"Of course not. Even this doctor is someone we've known for a long time. We won't touch his own collection; we'll just look through the decorations the magic academy left in his office."

“That won’t work either,” Stark said skeptically. “Once you’re on his turf, it’s his. Don’t expect him to give it back.”

“Let’s get on the train first and pay later,” said Batman Arkham. “Take it first. As long as we turn that thing into a bomb, even if you give it back to him, he won’t want it.”

Stark looked at them strangely and said, "Aren't you superheroes? Stealing and robbing like this is shameless!"

“We’ll pay,” the main universe Batman said. “We dare to do this because it’s Dr. Schiller. Because no matter what you do or what you steal, he’ll still demand an exorbitant amount from us.”

Stark opened his mouth, only to find himself unable to refute. Schiller's reputation was like this: whether you provoke him or not, he'll provoke you sooner or later. So why not provoke him first and see what happens?

If you provoke him first, at least you can get something out of him, which is barely a fair trade. But if he comes after you and throws the bill in your face, then you'll have to pay unilaterally.

"You're going tonight?"

“Yes, we won’t take you,” Batman Arkham cut Stark off. “If we take you, you’ll mark everything as Schiller’s collection, prevent us from taking anything, and make things really messy. So you’d better not go.”

“How could that be!” Stark retorted defiantly. “I know what he collects. If you don’t take me with you and take his most precious treasure, see how you’ll clean up the mess!”

But the two Batmen insisted on not taking Stark with them, which infuriated Stark.

After Stark stormed out of the activity room, Arkham Batman looked at the main universe Batman and asked, "Why did you have to refuse him? Aren't you afraid he'll tell Dr. Schiller?"

"That's exactly what we need him to deliver the message. Otherwise, wouldn't Night Owl's learning process be too smooth?"

Batman from Arkham suddenly realized. No wonder the main universe Batman had revealed that Schiller would be going to the Enchanted Forest at night; it turned out he wanted Stark to go there to find someone.

Stark grew increasingly angry as he left the activity room. Those two despicable Batmen wanted to steal; he had to tell Schiller!

But when he arrived at the office, he couldn't get the door opened no matter how hard he knocked. Stark had no choice but to fly to the window and look inside. He didn't see Schiller, and then he remembered that Batman and the others had said Schiller would go to the Enchanted Forest that night.

Although he didn't know why Schiller wanted to go to the Enchanted Forest that night, Stark knew Batman said they would make their move that evening, so he had to hurry and report it. Without thinking too much, he flew towards the Enchanted Forest.

Stark had no idea that Schiller was role-playing there. After flying into the enchanted forest, he quickly spotted the light in the cabin. He carefully concealed himself as he approached the cabin, but was still discovered immediately.

"Who's there?" Schiller, who was drawing a magic circle, stood up and looked out the window. Night Owl also turned to look, but there was clearly nothing outside the window.

Schiller's figure suddenly vanished, leaving only ashes. Stark whirled around and saw a tall, thin figure in a black robe appear abruptly in the pitch-black forest.

"Who are you?" Stark, of course, didn't recognize Heller either. But he also didn't quite believe that Strange would let a dangerous person roam around near the school, so he thought it might be a hired actor or something.

Unexpectedly, his opponent attacked him without saying a word. Stark quickly pulled his suit up. Unable to figure out his opponent's attack style, he didn't rashly fight back, but instead ran and fought, trying to lure his opponent towards the school.

As a result, the other party flew back as soon as they left the Enchanted Forest, leaving Stark somewhat bewildered. It didn't seem like the other party wanted to kill him; rather, it appeared to simply want to drive him away. Moreover, Stark's intuition told him that the other party wasn't an enemy.

Stark searched the skies above the Enchanted Forest again, but found no trace of Schiller. Even the slow-witted Stark would have realized by now: Could that be Schiller?

But why did Schiller impersonate someone else? And why did he get involved with Batman?

Stark became increasingly suspicious. So he sent out a small drone and deployed a nano-camera near the cabin to investigate.

Then he heard Schiller teaching Batman how to contract Mephisto.

Stark was utterly astonished. One dared to teach, and the other dared to learn. "Is he a magician? And you're going to learn from him?"

And Mephisto, they really dared to recruit him and come to him. "Is he a local? You're signing a contract with him?"

Stark was still somewhat dazed when he arrived at Strange's office. Strange, already irritable from being dragged out of his sleep, became even angrier seeing Stark standing there silently.

"What exactly are you doing here?!"

Stark snapped out of his daze and said, "What on earth is Schiller doing? Why is he..."

“Don’t worry about that,” Strange said. “Just treat it like they’re making a movie. They’ve signed confidentiality agreements, so they can’t say anything.”

Stark was still very curious, but he knew how powerful the confidentiality agreement was. Besides, he couldn't guarantee he wouldn't reveal the plot details once he knew them. If he let something slip, it would be in trouble for both of them.

"How's your mechanical club doing?" Strange asked.

"Hmm, not bad. They're looking for a material that can store magical energy more efficiently. I'm thinking of going to Schiller's office tonight to look for it."

Schiller's office?

"They said there were some decorations that were put in when the school was built, which might be useful."

"What do they want this for?"

“They might want to compress magical energy,” Stark said after a moment’s thought. “Their thinking is even more extreme than mine, it has almost nothing to do with magic, it’s purely high-energy physics. They might even want to build a particle collider.”

Strange thought for a moment, then turned and walked back into the lounge. He came out with a box and said, "Put these things in Schiller's office and see if they take them."

"What do you want to do?"

"Give them a hand. Maybe they'll surprise us."

Stark didn't fully understand his meaning, but he also didn't want the two Batmen ransacking Schiller's office. It would be much better if Strange provided the materials.

So he took the document and went to Schiller's office. He didn't see Batman, though; it seemed they planned to wait until late at night to make their move. Stark put the box in the display case and went back. He still had to keep an eye on what was happening in the Enchanted Forest.

In the dead of night, the main universe Batman and the Arkham Batman successfully infiltrated the school hospital and arrived at Schiller's office. They didn't disturb the bedroom or private meeting room, only rummaging around near the office's display cabinet.

They found a magical telescope, a globe, and the box Strange had brought over. Inside were some brightly colored gems. The main universe's Batman, upon touching these gems, sensed their special nature and took the box.

The two Batmen returned to the clubroom and began examining the gems, discovering that they were indeed the materials they wanted—materials capable of storing large amounts of magical energy.

It took them almost two years of emptying their wands to barely fill a single gem. But they still had no idea how to compress the energy within the gem. They studied it all night, but made no progress.

The next morning, as soon as they arrived at the classroom, the archmage gave each of them a ring and said, "Today's lesson is very important. I hope you will pay close attention, because I will show you the most precious treasure in the history of human magic—the portal."

A murmur of discussion erupted in the classroom. Even the usually taciturn Batmen couldn't help but whisper among themselves. They had long heard about Marvel's portals.

Although the situation varies slightly in different universes, almost every wizard in the Marvel Universe uses a very convenient small portal that seems to have no cost and no distance limit, making it extremely useful.

“The rings you are holding now are called Sling Rings, which are used as a medium to activate portals. Of course, if it were me or the Sorcerer Supreme, we wouldn’t need a medium. But even adult mages who have completed their contracts must use a medium when they first learn to use portals, otherwise it could have very serious consequences.”

"Now, put the rings on your hands. Just like you learned in meditation class, focus your attention and begin to channel the magic within your body into the rings. Feel the changes in the rings, and at the same time, visualize a door in your mind..."
