Chapter 3923 MU: The Superbody Incident (Part 3)
"You did this to him? What did you do this time?" Clark raised his eyebrows and asked.
"I didn't do much. Brainiac stopped me from researching cell phones, and the Agricultural Science Research Station was temporarily unavailable, so I had a gap in my career. I was originally thinking of developing the Dark Knights... you know, what I told you guys before, finding a few Batmen who were about to die, using Barbatos' dark powers to save them, and building our own team to cause trouble in the multiverse."
“I originally intended to go looking for him, but someone delivered himself to my doorstep. Somehow, Night Owl sent a message to the Dark Multiverse, which I captured. So I decided to play along and used Barbatos’s authority to contract with this follower.”
“I’ve tampered with the dark power I’m giving him. This will make it retain its original corrupting nature, but also make it violent and uncontrollable. I know his level; he probably can’t suppress this power at all. It’s only a matter of time before things go wrong.”
"But I didn't expect him to be so bold, conducting a teleportation experiment the moment he gained the power. He didn't control the power well, the magic circle was wrong, and then it exploded. It seems like it blew up their entire base, almost blowing a hole in the universe."
Clark gasped and said, "I thought the time travel experiment that Brainiac arranged for Barry to do was crazy enough, but I didn't expect there were even more experts."
Bruce waved his hand and said, "That's not the same thing. Brainiac dared to let Barry travel back in time indefinitely because I was there. He deliberately used time travel to increase the instability of the universe, so I had an excuse to send more angels to watch over our universe. I could also thicken the walls of the universe a bit while I was at it."
"So it was all just to scam funding from Heaven?"
"Not really. No matter what, our importance doesn't surpass that of the main universe. There are at least two hundred angels eyeing the main universe, while we only have a hundred. We're far from that."
“It’s alright, you’re worth a hundred of them,” Clark said with a smile.
"However, the walls of our universe are now much thicker than those of the main universe. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, it is virtually impossible for anyone to break through the walls and invade through violent means."
“That’s not bad. I was also worried that we might suddenly be invaded one day. Those people in other universes are too inefficient; their Justice League works 24/7.” Clark shook his head and said, “Let’s get back to Night Owl. What happened to him?”
"I thought blowing up his base would be enough to keep him busy for a while. I didn't expect the dark forces to have such a big impact on him than I imagined. He broke with the evil alliance over there, and then, in a moment of madness, he went and cursed Superman, which resulted in him being hunted down by Wonder Woman. I guess he was completely out of options when he came to me for help."
"If you don't save him, isn't he doomed?"
“Not necessarily. Even if I don’t go to save him, the other Batmen will definitely go, since they all want to save him.” Bruce thought for a moment and then said, “I feel it’s coming soon. After all, that cybernetic life form that tried to invade our universe must have caused quite a bit of trouble in other universes. They should be gathering for a meeting soon. After the meeting, they’ll realize that that cybernetic life form has already been defeated here, and in order to find a universe that can defeat him, they will definitely go to Night Owl to sound him out…”
Bruce was stunned when a communication came in from the main universe's Batman.
"Hello? It's me. What's up? What? You're looking for a universe with super artificial intelligence? Super Brainiac? Good heavens, are you kidding me?"
"You're asking me? How would I know? What do you mean I'm wandering all over the universe? I haven't been to other universes in a long time. And when it comes to idle people in the universe, I'm not even in the top ranks. After all, our universe is pretty safe, so it's only natural that I'm idle. But it's not right for Batman in some universes to be so idle."
"I'm not implying anything about anyone. If you don't believe me, that's fine too. Anyway, I really don't know anything about Super Brainiac, I've never even heard of him. You guys can go ask around."
Bruce let out a long sigh after hanging up the call. He looked at Clark and said, "Those Batmen are really something, actually trying to take advantage of me."
"Did you fool them?" Clark asked with some concern. "He's definitely looking for this Brainiac from our universe. Even though he's been busy being the god of agriculture lately, he's pretty much the only one worthy of the title Super Brainiac."
"Who said that? Our universe's is called Brainiac, but they're looking for Super Brainiac. In the realm of electronic life, program names are very precise; you can't get them wrong. I've definitely never heard of any Super Brainiac." Bruce shook his head so hard it was almost blurry.
Clark shook his head, somewhat amused and exasperated, and said, "Then who do you think is that abnormal idler?"
"Of course, it's Batman from Injustice. We have to find someone to take the blame. Batman has probably figured out that such a universe exists by now. If we don't want him to find out about us, we have to push the Injustice universe out of there."
"Do you think they could have come up with that?"
"Of course. It's no secret that the Injustice League's universe was invaded by Brainiac. Of course, neither was ours. But after all, our universe has rebooted, and they probably don't expect that Brainiac will still rule Earth after the reboot. That's a blind spot in their thinking."
"The Injustice League is really strange. They were invaded by Brainiac. Even if they could repel Brainiac, there would still be reconstruction work to be done after the war, right? The political system that Superman destroyed would have to be rebuilt, right? The global order would have to be redistributed, right?"
"But that Batman from the Injustice League is so idle, it doesn't seem like he's in the post-war state at all. Batman might not have realized it yet, so reminding them is a way of helping them take another step forward, isn't it?"
After thinking for a moment, Clark said, "But when our universe confronted Hale and Brainiac afterwards, there were two pairs of Batmen and Superman present. Even if they didn't stay until the end, they still knew the inside story. Especially Injustice Batman, what if those Batmen came after him and he betrayed us?"
“He won’t do that. He won’t even let the other Batmen discover Brainiac from their universe, because if they do, his universe might be used as Batman’s headquarters. He can’t stand having so many Batmen hanging around in front of him.”
"Besides, you know that his Superman from that universe has only just recovered a little. What if seeing so many Batmen triggers his illness again? That would be a huge mess."
"But it's not that easy to hide, is it?"
“It’s a bit easier for them than for us,” Bruce said. “After all, they’re just rebuilding after the disaster, and Brainiac’s interference isn’t as strong. Completely omitting Brainiac and insisting that it’s the result of Batman or Superman’s efforts, while a bit exaggerated, isn’t impossible.”
"It's not the same here. The entire multiverse knows that our Justice League leaves at 6:30. If you tell them that we spent a year building this after the reboot, no one will believe you, and there's no room for argument."
Clark sighed and said, "It's all because the Justice Leagues in other universes work too long. How about we pretend to work and stay until 8 p.m. to finish?"
"No chance. Brainiac is watching you. He's been launching a water and electricity conservation campaign lately. If you're just hogging the base's water and electricity without doing anything, he might just kick it into the Atlantic Ocean."
“Well, there’s nothing we can do about it,” Clark shrugged. “I think getting off work at 6:30 p.m. is already a bit late. I really don’t know where they get so much work to do.”
"Don't say that again. Brainiac already dislikes our illegal association enough. It would be interesting if he disbanded the Justice League one day."
As the sun sets in the same west, another universe presents a completely different scene. Batman Injustice, who has been idly wasting many days at Wayne Manor, is now extremely busy.
"Hurry, Clark! You need to run for president right now, quickly state your political views, quickly pass the Kent Act, then quickly get it passed, and then quickly go to Washington to sign those 20,000-plus policy and tax documents. Go now!!!"
The Injustice Superman, dragged out of bed, was completely bewildered. It took him a while to recover before he looked at the Injustice Batman and said, "What?"
"Use your super brain!!!" Batman Injustice roared at him, "The other Batmen are coming for me! We can't let them find out Brainiac's existence, so now all the credit for his work will be pinned on you. You're now the greatest president in American history!! Get in office!!!"
Before he could even take off his pajamas, Injustice Superman was completely transformed from head to toe by the men sent by Injustice Batman and Brainiac. Then, bewildered, he was pushed onto the presidential plane and watched helplessly as Injustice Batman and Brainiac fabricated a history and used Brainiac's supercomputing power to completely alter all the data and information.
In this new history, there are no supercomputers. Brainiac was defeated and simply went home. Instead, an unjust superman suddenly realized his mistakes, won the election through legal means, and used at least 50% of his super brain's power to rebuild America and the world as they are today.
“I have only one question,” Injustice Superman managed to muster 1% of his super brain, then said, “Why me and not you?”
"You used to rule the world by force, and I couldn't stop you. Suddenly you ran for president and achieved such success, do you think that's reasonable?"
"Uh..." Unjust Superman was somewhat speechless.
"The reason it's you is because you have a criminal record. You ruled the Earth before, although you made a mess of things, but that shows you wanted to be a ruler. You were just on the wrong track before, but after experiencing a major catastrophe, you learned your lesson, got on the right path, and succeeded. Isn't that reasonable?"
Injustice Superman pursed his lips and shook his head: "That's unreasonable, isn't it? Who would expect a tyrant to impose a 90% tax on the rich?"
"Only a tyrant could impose a 90% tax on the rich and still make them pay obediently, right?"
Unjust Superman found himself unable to refute the statement, so he could only say, "I can only say that I tried my best, but I think I'm bound to be exposed."
"Don't worry, it won't happen. This is just the first step." The Injustice Batman held up one finger and said, "To explain why I've been out of contact all this time instead of actively working to govern the Earth, I've decided to have you imprison me."
"……what?"
Sorry, I'm a little late.
