Chapter 3973 MU Superbody Major Event (53)
Chapter 3973 MU: The Superbody Incident (Fifty-Three)
“Hey, Hal. Do me a favor.” Barry appeared beside Hal. Hal turned to look at him. Barry suddenly pulled someone out of the Speed Force. Hal raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"Wonder Woman? How did you end up with her...? How did she get knocked out? Where did you kidnap her from?"
"The Injustice universe, haven't you been there before?"
"Clark didn't kill her? That makes sense; he came out quickly and didn't look like he'd killed anyone. You went with him?"
“Yes. Clark told me that Bruce was looking for an opportunity to cause trouble in the multiverse to slow down Batman’s progress. I’ve been following Clark around ever since to make sure I don’t miss the opportunity because I’m too slow. I went into the seal with him at the time, and Clark knocked Wonder Woman unconscious and burned some other things to make ashes.”
"He instructed me to release her at the right time. Clark should have left by now. Wake her up, and we'll take her to the Battle Realm."
As Barry narrates, time rewinds to when Clark and Hal traveled to the Injustice universe together.
Clark entered the seal alone. It was a pitch-black, lightless place. Wonder Woman wasn't bound, but she certainly didn't possess any divine power. Noticing someone approaching, she suddenly widened her eyes and looked up.
"Superman!!! You damn heartless bastard!! How could you choose to believe Batman?!"
“Calm down, I’m not the Superman you know,” Clark said, standing there with his arms crossed. “Besides, even if he were, he’s already given up on you, hasn’t he?”
"Let me out!! Let me out!!!"
“You have two choices now,” Clark said. “Either I kill you and frame Superman of the Injustice League, which would be revenge for you; or I take you away and you can go and get revenge on them yourself.”
Unjust Wonder Woman stared wide-eyed. Clark continued, "What you may not know is that most of the Wonder Women from the multiverse have already gathered in Battleworld, while you're trapped here and unable to participate in their meetings. You've been missing for so long, and no one has come looking for you."
"Why would they come looking for me? They'd love for me to be dead!" Injustice Wonder Woman said through gritted teeth. "If it weren't for Batman, I would be the best of them all! No Superman has ever trusted me like Carl!"
“You still have a chance to prove yourself,” Clark said with a smile. “The evil invader Ultron from the next world is getting many Batmen into trouble. If you can lead Wonder Woman and defeat the invaders, everyone will respect you.”
A glint flashed in Wonder Woman's eyes, as if she could already see that scene. At that moment, Clark dropped another bombshell, saying, "You might not know this while you're trapped here, but Superman has mind-controlled Batman. Batman is now completely his puppet. Don't you want to see Batman's miserable state right now?"
Unjust Wonder Woman was stunned, and after a long pause, she reacted, then burst into maniacal laughter. She even stood up, swaying as she said, "I knew it! They could never truly understand each other! Only I can understand Superman!!!"
"Let me out!" she shouted at Clark. "I need to get out now, let me out right now!!!"
“Don’t rush, it’s not time yet.” Clark gestured behind his back. Suddenly, a golden light flashed, and Unjust Wonder Woman was knocked unconscious from behind. Barry emerged from the darkness and said, “This time she’ll probably stay unconscious for a while. I don’t want to expand my swear vocabulary any further.”
“Do as you please,” Clark said. “Take her away first, and release her when the time is right.”
"The right time refers to..."
“Let’s talk about it after I leave this world,” Clark said, shaking his head. “If Wonder Woman finds out what we’ve done, we’re finished. Let’s go.”
The encounter between the Unjust Wonder Woman and the main universe Wonder Woman was far from pleasant. To be precise, the main universe Wonder Woman was the one who was attacked.
They were having a meeting at the Battlegrounds base at the time. The main universe's Wonder Woman returned with a mission assigned by the main universe's Batman: to search for as many Ultron bodies as possible across the multiverse, destroying as many as they could, and to begin preparations for cross-world operations.
Diana went to the Marvel universe under the pretext of spying. After the Chief left, Diana, the deputy Chief in the main universe, took over the Chief's responsibilities. She was sitting at the head of the round table in the conference, rambling on and on about the intelligence shared by the Batmen, while most of the Wonder Women were dozing off.
There was no way around it; there were just too many universes involved, and the bodies Ultron stole were incredibly diverse. The information the Batmen shared among themselves was also incredibly detailed. Just reading all of this out took almost half an hour, and even Wonder Woman from the main universe was getting a bit parched.
She took another sip of water and continued, "Batman needs you to go back and contact Aquaman, and try to find out about Atlantis without triggering his emotions, especially whether any of the divine puppets have been stolen. If contacting him is difficult, you can also contact Mera. Even if nothing has been stolen yet, you must still be on high alert..."
With a loud bang, the conference room door was smashed open. In the fraction of a second that Wonder Woman turned her head, a rope was already binding her.
The Wonder Women are very experienced in dodging their own weapons, as they have often had their ropes stolen by enemies and then tied up themselves. The main universe Wonder Woman executed a nimble forward roll onto the conference table, followed by a side roll to dodge the next lash, shattering the table with a single blow. The surrounding Wonder Women scattered and flew into the air to avoid the attack.
The main universe's Wonder Woman jumped to the ground, stood firmly, and then looked up at the attacker—who turned out to be another Wonder Woman.
"What's wrong, sister? Which universe are you from? Why are you attacking me?" Wonder Woman from the main universe asked, somewhat puzzled.
"You damn bitch!!!"
Upon hearing this, all the Wonder Women were stunned. They truly couldn't believe what they had just heard.
Wonder Woman was born on an island inhabited entirely by women. The Amazonian warriors, who were not related by blood, addressed each other as sisters and almost never argued. Even when there were occasional disagreements, they would settle things with a good fight in the arena and never intentionally humiliate each other.
Even after she entered ordinary society, the values she developed in the environment of Paradise Island prevented her from harboring any socially regulated malice towards any woman.
Even if it weren't for other Wonder Women, but just an ordinary woman, they wouldn't use such language to insult her. This isn't a matter of manners; it's that Wonder Woman simply doesn't have that concept in her mind. Just like she wouldn't use the common English swear word "m**rf**k," which is unthinkable in a matriarchal society.
So when this word was thrown into Wonder Woman's group, it had a truly earth-shattering effect. Let alone her sisters, even given her status in ordinary society, it had been a long time since anyone had dared to openly hurl insults at her. The main universe's Wonder Woman was momentarily stunned by her outburst.
But in the blink of an eye, this seemingly unfamiliar Wonder Woman swung her fist at her. The main universe Wonder Woman nearly took the punch; she hurriedly stepped back, then was absolutely furious.
Seizing the opening where Wonder Woman was throwing a punch, she went in and landed an uppercut, followed by two straight punches to the face. The main universe's Wonder Woman roared at her, "You damn bastard, daring to impersonate Wonder Woman?! I'll teach you a lesson you won't forget!!!"
That's right, the main universe's Wonder Woman initially thought the other party was an imposter. Although this situation had never occurred before, the Battle Realm isn't omnipotent; there might be imposters that can't be identified. It's best to catch them first.
The Injustice universe isn't very strong; it couldn't possibly defeat the main universe, let alone with so many Wonder Women here. The Wonder Woman who suddenly rushed in was no match for so many opponents and was quickly knocked to the ground and bound by the Lasso of Truth.
It turned out she really was Wonder Woman, and from the Injustice universe at that.
The main universe's Wonder Woman was completely bewildered. She looked the madwoman up and down, even wondering if she had been resurrected by some evil force, but apart from being a little weak in divine power, the other party seemed to be perfectly fine.
"You're the crazy one!" the Unjust Wonder Woman yelled. "What right do you have to lead Wonder Woman?! Batman and Superman don't even acknowledge you. If I were leading Wonder Woman, that invading cyber life form would have been driven out long ago!"
This sounds completely nonsensical to the other Wonder Women. In reality, Unjust Wonder Woman is indeed a bit crazy.
Although she was somewhat abnormal before she was locked up, it was more like she was stupid and wicked than her current insane behavior and illogical speech.
"Could she have been controlled by that evil Superman too?" This was the only possibility the Wonder Woman in the main universe could think of. "But maybe the control wasn't perfect, or perhaps the experiment failed, causing her to go insane? No, I have to go find that damned Superman..."
Injustice was devastated when he received the news. Wasn't he supposed to be dead?! How is he alive again?!
While being wrongly accused of murder is unfortunate, the thought of Wonder Woman from my universe being truly dead is a silver lining. And now you're telling me I not only got framed, but Wonder Woman isn't even dead? Is this what they mean by bad luck always seems to target the unfortunate?
Injustice Superman is busy investigating the source of the blue light, and he's heard that Wonder Woman from the main universe is coming to find him with Injustice Wonder Woman. Injustice Superman is really in a bind.
Although he also felt that Wonder Woman was a bit abnormal, she was indeed his best ally during the time he ruled the earth. He once thought that Wonder Woman was the only one who could understand him, so he probably couldn't bring himself to kill her now, and Batman would also come after him.
But what if Wonder Woman insists on staying after seeing me?
He was already the enemy of most superheroes, and only dared to sneak around. If he were to carry around such a megaphone, how could he possibly survive?
At that moment, Injustice Superman truly wished he were dead.
