Chapter 3993 MU Superbody Major Event (73)
Chapter 3993 MU: The Superbody Incident (Seventy-Three)
Besides Earth, the most familiar planet to humankind is the Sun. The Sun is a very typical star, and it is currently in its most vigorous and powerful phase. Both its size and temperature seem to have been meticulously designed to nurture the beautiful solar system.
The cosmic elders who visited the solar system tens of thousands of years ago described it this way: "If the Milky Way were not so remote, a beauty like the Sun would have been famous long ago."
The beauty of our solar system is universally acknowledged. While other star systems may also support life, there's a universal law: the harsher the environment, the stronger the life forms that emerge; and vice versa. The fact that the sun can nurture life forms like ordinary humans—almost useless in the Marvel universe—is enough to demonstrate the incredible protective environment it has created.
If it weren't for the fact that the lords of the nine kingdoms were too powerful, and Odin was too warlike and disliked any races that were too weak, the solar system would have long been developed into a popular tourist destination in the universe.
Humanity is so enamored with its own star that almost all research revolves around the Sun. It's fair to say that the vast majority of our understanding of stars comes from the Sun. Even as we gradually delve into the cosmos, we still use data from the Sun to define other stars. For every star we encounter, we discuss its similarities and differences to the Sun.
This method of introduction is clearly effective, at least giving people a basic understanding of whether a planet is larger or smaller than the sun, hotter or colder. Even the most magnificent phenomenon in the universe—a black hole—is judged by its mass, which is equivalent to that of the sun. While not entirely rigorous, it aligns well with human thought processes.
This method of weighing has almost never failed; even if the mass were millions of suns, most people could immediately tell that it was ridiculously large. But today, the sun-based measurement method no longer works.
What appeared before everyone was a bizarre celestial body that they had never seen before, could not understand, and could not compare with at all.
At first, no one realized it was a planet; something suddenly appeared and loomed over everyone. It was as if another galaxy had descended upon the Triangulum Galaxy, completely obscuring it. This is enough to show just how enormous this strange celestial object was.
Although subsequent alarms from various devices reminded them that this was merely a visual illusion and that the planet was far smaller than a galaxy, it still far exceeded the size of the largest known celestial body.
If we were to estimate its mass based on this size… no, there's no need to estimate it at all. If a planet that large truly existed, it couldn't possibly support its own mass; it would have collapsed into a black hole long ago. But it didn't. It just hovered quietly in mid-air, making all the surrounding planets and bases appear incredibly tiny in comparison.
This planet's diameter alone is roughly equivalent to 30 solar systems. To put this in perspective, the supermassive black hole at the center of the Phoenix A galaxy, one of the largest known black holes, is only about 35 solar systems in diameter. Furthermore, the size of a black hole is determined by its event horizon, but what's in front of us is a solid planet.
The strange thing is that even if this planet can maintain its own existence, according to the laws of gravity, at such a close distance, the outposts and bases set up by the Triangulum system should have been captured by this super-large planet long ago.
However, their gravitational system remained completely unaffected. This wasn't the result of any adjustment; it was as if the enormous, unscientific planet above them didn't exist. This was even more terrifying than the moment the planet appeared, everything began falling towards it.
Alternatively, it could be a ghost planet, visible to the naked eye but not actually existing, essentially a kind of optical phenomenon. That would certainly be the best-case scenario.
Alternatively, this planet possesses a vast gravitational system far beyond the comprehension of any intelligent life, capable of disregarding certain cosmic rules, or even directly altering the gravitational data of its location, thus preventing any gravitational response. This is the worst-case scenario.
The latter implies that the other party is a super-civilization possessing Zentradi technology, far surpassing even the three great empires on Earth. If the three empires' gravitational systems could even touch the other party's edge, Earth wouldn't have been wiped out in an instant.
The moment this colossal planet appeared, all the scientists realized it. They began frantically shouting into the communication channels: "Magneto! Magneto!!! Gravitational parameters!!! Quick!!!"
To facilitate communication, everyone's life support device, the ring, is equipped with a communication device. Professor X programmed them with different channels, which they could switch between by rotating the ring.
The world's top scientists were all on the same wavelength, and right now, that wavelength was filled with screams. Everyone was shouting "Don't panic," but everyone sounded panicked.
"What the hell is this?! So you guys are saying Batman also has another name, God?!"
"God my ass! It's just some strange celestial body from another world. As long as we have the data, we can analyze it. Quickly, get Magneto to read the gravitational parameters! Hurry!"
"Our first concern right now is, what if the other side shuts down the gravity control system? Quiet down! Listen to me!"
"Don't panic! Don't panic! Earth is safe. The enemy doesn't seem to have much mobility!"
"Bullshit! How did it get here without any mobility?!"
"Good heavens, physics no longer exists! How can we live like this?! Newton, get up and take a look! Einstein, don't just sit around doing nothing, there's new material for relativity!"
"Quiet down, everyone! The professor told me Magneto has gone! The IT department staff, get ready to receive the data!"
Meanwhile, the superhero scientists in the central universe formed a small group, because they knew Batman better and were more composed. Stark sighed and said, "I knew Batman wouldn't come unprepared. But he's far too well-prepared; this thing is probably the legendary Apokolips."
“This planet is in a very special state, it looks like some kind of quantum superposition,” Pym said. “That is, although it does exist there, no one can perceive its existence without its permission.”
“This doesn’t seem like a simple physical phenomenon,” Doom said. “Or rather, it’s like technology and magic have reached their limits and are converging on the same path. Whoever can perfectly modify the parameters of the universe wins.”
“You mean this guy did it?” Stark frowned. “While that Darkseid guy is pretty good, I don’t think he could do that.”
“Just because Darkseid couldn’t do it doesn’t mean Lucifer and his gang couldn’t,” Doom continued. “It should be said that Apokolips is their masterpiece. There should only be one celestial body in this special state, and Darkseid just happened to become its master.”
Stark remained silent, lost in thought. Pym continued, "I think so too. Since the parameters of Earth over there are similar to ours, it proves that the laws of physics are also similar. It's impossible for such a special planet to have been born naturally. There must have been the involvement of a creator to create such a peculiar existence. Neither Batman nor anyone else has such power; Batman just used it."
“The latest parameters are out,” Dr. Banner said. “According to Magneto’s investigation, this thing cannot be considered a planet; it’s more like a domain with a core.”
"field?"
"Yes, what we see as a colossal object is not entirely solid. What we perceive as the light blue area on the Earth's surface is actually its atmosphere, or you could say its planetary shield. The actual planet is not that large; it is only about 800 times the size of Earth."
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Stark felt a spasm in his stomach; he knew it was from being too tense. He quickly drank some warm water to calm himself, then said, "Thank goodness, things aren't as bad as they seem. Do you have a rough structural diagram?"
Professor X said, "Uploading, about to be sent to all of us... Oh, here it comes."
A three-dimensional holographic image appeared in everyone's minds: the colossal Apokolips. Its appearance was incredibly deceptive; it looked like an absurdly large planet, but in reality, it resembled a shielded star system. The real Apokolips was located at the very center of the Apokolips domain. While it was many times larger than Earth, it wasn't as exaggerated and could be considered to conform to the laws of physics.
Although Apokolips itself is quite large, it's still very far from their base. The base couldn't possibly be captured by its gravity, and even being affected would be difficult. The distance between the two locations also makes a boarding maneuver impossible; a spaceship would be necessary.
But this brings a new problem: where does such a small planet get such a large shield? Earth's magical defense network still needs many pillars. It's not that the mages don't want to build bigger, but expanding upwards by even one meter requires an exponential increase in energy, making it simply not cost-effective.
Maintaining such a large shield on Apokolips would require an astronomical amount of energy; it could even be said that killing all the lord-level demons, including Mephisto, wouldn't be enough. Therefore, it couldn't possibly be using this method. So how does it maintain the Apokolips Domain?
There were many different opinions among ordinary scientists, and even among superhero scientists, there were various speculations. But in the end, the most reliable speculation came from Magneto, who was closest to us.
"They are not relying on energy to maintain the shield; that is an energy source in itself."
"What do you mean?"
"Just like Mephisto's Hell Dimension or Dormammu's Dark Realm, it is one of the sources of power of the universe's origin."
"How is that possible?!" Stark slammed his hand on the table, standing up from his chair. "How could they possibly bring over a part of their universe's origin?! Doesn't Batman know how risky that is?!"
“Maybe he’s just confident he won’t lose,” Reed said, arms crossed. “You have to admit, it solves their biggest problem—energy and range issues.”
"I'm more curious about how our administrators resolved the conversion issue. What did they convert the primal power of the other universe into? Is it still primal power on our side? Won't it cause program conflicts?"
"Then we'll have to ask Eternity. Where's Stephen? Tell him to go to the Temple of Eternity and ask!"
Meanwhile, Eternity lay paralyzed in the Temple of Eternity. Of the other abstract entities, only Death looked somewhat dignified, still able to sit; the others lay sprawled out in disarray. When Strange arrived, he thought he had stumbled upon a plane crash site.
