Chapter 4034 MU Superbody Major Event (114)
Chapter 4034 MU: The Superbody Incident (114)
"Stop them!!!" Doom roared. Several cannons instantly appeared beneath his black robe, but instead of firing cannons, they launched several fusion devices.
These ring-shaped devices shot out at an astonishing speed, blocking the enemy hero's path, then converged as if drawn together, before collapsing inwards simultaneously. A chilling gravitational pull emanated from that direction.
"Run!! Run!!!" the Martian hunter shouted desperately.
But it was too late. The light began to fade, and a silent darkness spread outwards, forming an extremely deep black within. Time began to slow down, and then everything began to distort.
The other Doctors of Doom ran for their lives as soon as the thing started to collapse, making sure to grab the few survivors who were standing there in a daze. Even after running into the gravity field of the Asgard base, they were still not at ease and frantically released barriers to the outside.
Captain America from the main universe was somewhat bewildered, not yet realizing what had happened, until he heard Doctor Doom beside him curse, "What a madman! He's carrying a black hole with him!!!"
Captain America in the main universe suddenly realized what this series of cosmic phenomena meant—a man-made black hole had appeared above the Asgard base.
This black hole isn't very massive; Captain America in the main universe could only determine its size by the area where the light disappeared. However, it's still a black hole. And, perhaps due to some artificial adjustment, the event horizon of this black hole is larger than expected, to the point that everything within and outside that horizon is sucked in.
As it turns out, even a god like Wonder Woman can't be caught in a black hole. Once captured, her divine power vanished, and she was helplessly dragged towards the singularity. First, time slowed infinitely, then her consciousness gradually faded. During this process, several beams of white light appeared. Then, a giant hand descended.
It was a hand made entirely of information flow, constantly dismantling all cosmic information and then reassembling it. Steve looked at the enormous figure and muttered to himself, "I didn't expect it to get even stronger."
Earth has enjoyed peace for a long time, and the Steel Demon has not made an appearance for quite some time. However, Steve remembers that the last time it appeared, it was in the same form as most Demons, except that it manifested as an infinitely multiplying machine.
But when they reappeared, there was no dazzling magical light, nor hordes of mechanical armies. Though still vast and imposing, they were dark and silent. Yet this signified a different kind of power.
Watching all this through the surveillance equipment, the main universe's Batman suddenly remembered something Lucifer, who taught cosmology at magic school, had said: the essence of the universe is simple and unadorned; if one had to describe it in human terms, it would be closer to one word—'information'. These universe administrators were, in essence, programmers maintaining an infinitely vast amount of information in the background.
The current form of the Steel Demon God is like a construct that has abandoned all the filters and renderings added in post-production, presenting the information form of the origin of the universe, which can be directly read, rewritten, and run.
Steve recalls that Stark once proposed a concept: if he removed a certain disease from the universe, those suffering from it would be instantly cured. Now it seems that wasn't just a hypothesis; he's probably been exploring this all along. And he might be close to succeeding.
The black hole was silently erased, and a dense white light emanated from the palm, causing all the captured superheroes to retreat. Then, the enormous figure vanished without a trace.
Stark returned, panting heavily. Steve quickly grabbed his shield and flew to catch him, but he was too late. A sharp blade flashed, and a huge gash was slashed across the back of Stark's mech. Another blade broke through the mech's defenses and struck Stark directly in the back.
"Well!!!!"
Stark let out a scream. Steve angrily hurled his shield in that direction, sending the green-haired woman flying. Steve quickly reached out to catch Stark.
“He’s fine,” Jarvis’s voice came from inside the mech. “We brought enough healing potions; he should recover quickly.”
Steve glanced at the wound and saw that the bleeding had stopped and was already healing. He breathed a sigh of relief, only to find that Stark had already fainted from the pain.
"Damn it," he cursed.
But just then, several beams of magical light suddenly shone in the pitch-black universe; the mages had arrived.
Captain America from the main universe quickly stepped forward and asked, "Is the crisis on Earth resolved?"
The leading high priest bowed and said, "The Supreme Master is still cleaning up the mess, and we have been ordered to come and help."
“Great,” Captain America from the main universe said. He hadn’t quite recovered from the shock, and his voice was trembling slightly as he said, “There’s a group of invisible assassins who need your help. Magical energy can interfere with their invisibility.”
The mages nodded to him, then each cast a golden halo. Soon, the Nemesis team was swept away and defeated one by one.
The mages' magic was the best way to wipe out the Parademons; a few spells were enough to wipe them out. As for the superheroes who weren't captured by the black hole, they were scattered and ineffective, forced to retreat.
The battle had reached a dead end; both sides had suffered devastating losses. Entire units of superheroes were wiped out, leaving only a handful of survivors who could only make a miserable exit.
Back at the base, everyone was silent. The conference room, which could have been packed, was now only able to fill the first three rows, and each person's counterparts could hardly form a team; they had to sit together to make it seem like there were more people.
“You’ve all worked hard,” Steve sighed. “There are no orders from the command center to hold a debriefing meeting. Go back and get some rest.”
But no one left. After all, they weren't ordinary people and didn't need to sleep. Anyone with a bit of experience knows that if they left now and went to be alone, their post-traumatic stress disorder might flare up even more. It was better to stay together, talk to each other, and distract themselves.
Previously, they had some doubts about Professor X's claims about Doctor Strange's mental health, but now it seems that they were not entirely unfounded.
Captain America is a veteran, and he thought he wouldn't be bothered by this, but that's not actually the case at all.
On the front lines, he witnessed all kinds of artillery fire and the meat grinder of urban warfare. Some fell from the ground, some were riddled with shrapnel, and some were blown in two by landmines; all the scenes were bloody and horrific. Steve Rogers, still a recruit, was once afraid, but he gradually became numb to it.
Because people are dying every second on the battlefield, and the screams never stop, if you don't concentrate, you'll be next. Even just to survive, you have to ignore those horrific scenes.
This battle was completely different from the previous ones. Almost no one bled, and those who were hit by the Omega rays simply vanished without a sound. There was no bloodshed, no agonizing screams; they simply disappeared. This was another kind of eeriness and terror.
This thing is completely beyond the comprehension of normal humans, and the greatest fear of mankind is the unknown.
Where did this ray come from? Where was it going? Where did those hit by it go? Did they die? Or did they disappear? How did they die? Was it from high temperature, cutting, or suffocation?
Just like when humans first encountered knowledge about the universe, they would always repeatedly wonder: What would happen if we fell into the sun? What if we fell into Jupiter? What would it feel like to be captured by a black hole?
There is no answer, because no one has ever experienced it.
Everything was just speculation; no one knew the truth. It was a realm beyond their reach, a realm where humanity was as insignificant as ants, utterly powerless to struggle.
This sense of doubt and uncertainty always surrounds people, causing their thoughts to slide into the abyss of fear, triggering their primal instincts, and making them become excited and extremely aggressive.
In the main universe, Captain America realizes he may be heading down the same path as Doctor Strange, but he has no control over himself. He begins to feel his brain throbbing rapidly, with fleeting thoughts appearing and then quickly disappearing, sometimes even completely forgotten.
This is followed by an increase in heart rate and breathing rate. You can start to hear your own heartbeat clearly, your joints begin to ache, your muscles begin to twitch, and each breath becomes very shallow. To prevent suffocation, you can only breathe deeper and faster, and then the symptoms of respiratory alkalosis will cause dizziness and nausea.
Fortunately, Strange returned at that moment. He looked around and was shocked to see that there were only so few people left.
Although I had already learned about the general situation of the battle from Charles, seeing it with my own eyes was still extremely impactful.
He frowned deeply, then, as Charles had instructed, tapped the ground with his staff. The power of light magic rippled outwards, and everyone felt a surge of energy.
“I’m sorry, special times call for special measures. I really don’t have time to find you a psychologist, so I can only use this faster method. But don’t worry, after the war is over, there will be people to provide you with psychological counseling,” Strange said.
"What did they say from command center?" Steve asked.
"We still need to have a meeting, but we won't be running around through the portals this time. We'll have a remote meeting. Go back and rest first, and we'll meet in the conference room in 12 hours."
The crowd gradually dispersed. However, they did not choose to stay with their counterparts, but instead walked out in groups, forming the Avengers.
The vast majority of the Avengers couldn't be assembled. Only two universes were relatively lucky: the main universe and the central universe, where at least the members were all present.
After they left, Steve came up to them and asked, "How's it going on Earth?"
"No problem, I banished the Eye Demon. But that Seth is cunning and didn't show himself at all. However, I detected its presence around the universe, so I'll have to go take a look around later."
"What about Asgard?"
"With Hulk's help, things are much better. At least the defense of the nine kingdoms is no longer a problem. However, we still need to think of other ways to get those two empires to withdraw their troops."
When he said that, Steve knew they must have a solution, so he didn't ask any more questions.
Suddenly, a flash of teleportation light appeared, and Loki appeared before the two of them, saying, "We have news of Doctor Strange from the main universe. He looted the Collector's vault and now he's disappeared again."
