Chapter 4099 MU Superbody Major Event (176)

Chapter 4099 MU: The Superbody Incident (176)

If Mephisto was like this, imagine what the superheroes on the battlefield were like, blown to bits. The main universe Batman, who arrived in his Hellfire armor, only had time to see a flash of white light and hear the wails echoing in his ears.

Being targeted by hunters at least results in a quick death; a single stab and you're gone, turning into white light and returning to the Battle Realm. But being manipulated and targeted by them is a truly gruesome death.

The closest superhero Batman in the main universe saw was Martian Manhunter. He flew over and realized it was Martian Manhunter from his own universe. He quickly tried to approach to check on him.

“Ron!” the main universe Batman called out to him.

Martian Manhunter, slowly turning his head, was already in tears. He then turned back again, staring at the warship ablaze with fire in the distance. A bad premonition filled the heart of the main universe's Batman.

"Rong En! Rong En! Listen to me..."

The Martian hunter from the main universe plunged headfirst into the fire.

The main universe's Batman stared at him, wide-eyed. He rushed forward, trying to pull the man out. But in that instant of white light, he saw the main universe's Martian Manhunter's lips move. He was saying his wife's name.

The main universe's Batman took a deep breath, his fingertips trembling. He abruptly turned his head, only to see fragments of memories flashing before his eyes.

"You guys don't understand Zorro at all. I don't want to watch a movie with you! I want to go home!"

“Dick, I just want to tell you that becoming a superhero isn’t that easy…”

“I will find you, Jason. Trust me.”

"Clark, I think we need to talk..."

The main universe Batman shook his head violently, but the images continued to flood back, relentlessly assaulting his brain. He turned to try and find the culprit, but only saw a pair of blurry, unfocused gray eyes.

The main universe's Batman knew this place was no place to stay. He immediately flew away. However, many other superheroes were struggling to survive nearby. He couldn't bear to leave them to die, which slowed down his retreat.

The Arkham Knight was panting heavily, hiding behind a fragment of an asteroid. His metal armor was almost completely shattered, and his life support systems were barely functioning. As a result, he was slowly suffocating, like a drowning person.

He tried to slow his breathing as much as possible, but this also meant he couldn't do any more strenuous exercise. Even when he was completely still, just panting in place, he felt like he was getting less and less oxygen, and his lungs felt like they were on fire.

But just then, he suddenly felt a rush of fresh air and heard a faint female voice: "Battery..."

"What?" he asked.

"Armor, energy..."

The Arkham Knight recognized the voice; it sounded like Polaris. He immediately moved his arm, drawing power from the life support system of his armor at his waist.

When mounted on the armor, the energy source was stored in a sealed compartment to prevent energy leakage or radiation during operation. The moment it was pulled out, the Arkham Knight felt a violent electric current that numbed half of his body.

“It’s me,” Polaris’s voice rang out again, but it sounded very weak. “I have no body anymore, so I have to stay in your battery for a while. But I can power you.”

"Okay. How's the living space? Is there a three-bedroom, one-living-room option?"

The Arkham Knight was actually very badly wounded. Knowing he was about to die, he figured chatting with his opponent wouldn't hurt. He leaned against the debris behind him.

“It’s utterly rotten. Your understanding of energy storage devices is no different from that of an ancient tribal chief.” Polaris sounded even weaker. She said, “I have to go find my father. Only he can save me.”

"How do you go?"

"Take me there."

“Please, I’m about to die,” he said.

"Quicksilver has a very strong physique, so he shouldn't have been killed by the explosion. He has a healing serum on him; one shot would cure you. If you still have a breath left, go and try your luck."

The Arkham Knight certainly didn't want to die. He gritted his teeth, glanced at the other side of the shard, and said, "There are still monsters outside."

"You'll get eaten even if you hide here," Polaris said rather irritably. "What kind of war can a coward fight?!"

"Who's afraid of death?" The Arkham Knight took a deep breath and leaned out halfway, just as he saw Quicksilver floating over. But for some reason, his expression was a little frightening.

Alarm bells rang in the Arkham Knight's mind. Sure enough, Quicksilver pounced in a flash and bit into his shoulder, almost tearing off a chunk of flesh.

The Arkham Knight screamed and instinctively kicked him away. He glanced at the man's expression; the ravenous hunger in his eyes was almost evil.

“He’s been controlled. Kill him.” Polaris’s voice sounded pained, but still rational. “You have plenty of time to grab the potion before he dies. Hurry, or we’ll all die here!”

Arkham Knight gritted his teeth, used his only remaining arm to draw the gun from his waist, and fired a shot at Quicksilver, but it didn't even break through his defenses. He had no choice but to pull out his laser dagger and, as Quicksilver lunged again, plunge it into his neck.

He looked down and saw the equipment bag hanging on Quicksilver's waist. He grabbed the bag, kicked Quicksilver away, and watched as he turned into a streak of white light.

He opened his equipment bag, and sure enough, there were healing potions inside. The Arkham Knight injected himself with one, feeling his wounds slowly heal. He sighed and said, "This is definitely the work of your people."

Polaris was speechless. She remembered seeing Doom acting suspiciously when he flew over. She knew those mad scientists were definitely up to something!

“Find a power source,” Polaris continued, “to recharge me. Only then can I search my dad’s brainwaves. Otherwise, you won’t be able to deal with those monsters, and we’ll still die.”

Arkham Knight looked around. Fortunately, Marvel had sent quite a few ships for this operation. He saw what appeared to be a burning ship in the distance. He slowly flew towards it, not daring to fly too fast for fear of being noticed.

Unfortunately, what he feared most came to pass. He had only flown halfway when he felt a chill run down his back and instinctively turned to block. A knife pierced his arm, while the figure was kicked away by him.

"Schiller?!!"

Not everyone knew what was inside the dimension. They didn't even know the dimension had been blown apart. Upon suddenly seeing that face, the Arkham Knight's heart nearly leaped out of his chest.

"Run!" Polaris said weakly.

“Why?” said the Knight of Arkham. “I know him. Maybe he can save him…”

"He's a monster! Run!!!"

The Arkham Knight turned and ran, asking as he went, "What on earth is going on?!"

“Doom blasted open a dimension; they probably came from that dimension,” Polaris speculated. “As for where they came from and why they attacked us, I don’t know. Now that we’re here, just stick the batteries to the ship’s hull. I can absorb them myself.”

The Arkham Knight removed the battery and attached it to the still-intact part of the spaceship's hull. The energy was quickly replenished, and Polaris's voice became less weak.

“Oh no,” Polaris’s voice deepened again, “I couldn’t find Eric. His magnetic field seems to have disappeared. Could he be dead?”

He then muttered to himself, "This can't be. He and Wanda couldn't have been killed in that explosion... What kind of force was that?"

Before he could finish speaking, the Arkham Knight felt a sudden weightlessness and his vision blurred for a moment. When he awoke, he found himself standing by a swimming pool, holding a swimming ring. He looked up and saw a water slide that resembled a giant maze.

“Some mysterious force has invaded the dimension of reality,” Polaris’s voice came from behind him. The Arkham Knight turned around and saw the green-haired woman saying solemnly, “Those who are still alive are probably trapped here. We need to go and meet up with them first.”

“This is a huge problem,” said the Arkham Knight. “Your plan is to drag us all into an unfamiliar dimension and make us try to pass through trials?”

“This is not our plan,” Polaris sighed. “Our scientists here are a little unpredictable.”

“'A little bit'?!”

“You can’t expect everyone to be like Batman,” Polaris said, spreading his hands. “We don’t have moral exemplars like that here. When you have a brilliant and inspired mind, you’ll want to try anything.”

“This is entirely due to your indulgence,” the Arkham Knight said. “That Ultron that ran over to our side was also created by one of your mad scientists. They went unpunished, which is why this keeps happening. You should be glad you don’t have Batman here, or he would definitely break these lunatics’ spines!”

"It's no use. Here, someone who gets their spine broken just turns around and grows eight metal tentacles on themselves, then chases Spider-Man all over New York." Polaris shook his head and said, "Only your criminals are so focused on art, not practicality. If Batman came here, Arkham Asylum would be standing up and firing a burst of bullets at him in less than two days."

The two men stared at each other, wide-eyed. The Knight of Arkham said, "Alright, let's not discuss that. Theoretically, we're enemies, but..."

“We’re not enemies,” Polaris said. “I didn’t create Ultron, and he didn’t do anything to you. We’ll only meet on the battlefield because we each have our own jobs to do. I’m asking you, if Batman didn’t call you, would you come?”

Arkham Knight sighed. He didn't really want to come; he had absolutely no interest in fighting superheroes. He'd rather spend that time building armor in his base.

“His temper has gotten worse since he became president,” the Arkham Knight said. “He even threatened me that if I didn’t come, he would classify my base as an illegal structure. Not only would it be demolished, but I would also be fined a huge sum of money. If I couldn’t afford to pay, I would be homeless.”

“Me too. My dad said if I didn’t come, he’d send Billy and Thomas to me to take care of. I’d rather be directing traffic in the solar system!”

The two looked at each other in silence, and could only continue forward together, entering the enormous water slide maze. Deep within the maze, Magneto and Scarlet Witch, who had survived the powerful explosion and were the first to come into contact with the dream power and thus be swept in, were already engaged in a fierce battle with Nightmare.
