Chapter 4733 X Royal Family: New Life (Twelve)
Strange quickly brought the medicine. There were no antibiotics in the broad sense, but there were some fever reducers. After giving them to Stark, there was no noticeable change in the short term, so they could only stay and watch over him.
"Who should go?" Schiller asked. "We should definitely send someone, otherwise it would seem too inhumane."
“I’m not good at space combat,” Matt said, self-aware. “Although I can sense a lot of things, I’m not very mobile. You guys go ahead, I’ll stay here and guard him.”
“Me?” Steve said. But after thinking for a moment, he added, “I don’t have any large-scale destructive capabilities, so it would be best if the two of you went.”
“But we are doctors,” Strange said.
“We only need one doctor here,” Schiller said, standing up. “Charles and Tony both need your care, so I’ll go instead.”
When he said he was going, the others were worried, but not about his safety, but about the safety of the front line.
“I remember you’re not very good at fighting,” Matt said. “Why don’t we go to the Central Universe and call a few more?”
"There's no need. Ordinary people aren't comfortable on this island, and mutants are too busy. Besides, who said I was going to the front lines?"
"The front lines are in danger, where else would you go if not the front lines?"
Schiller smiled and said, "It's precisely because the front lines are so critical that going there would be useless. Alright, you all take good care of him here, I'll be back in a bit."
Schiller left the room, not heading straight for the front lines, nor even leaving Krakia Island. He went directly to the Krakia Totem and met the Holy Five who were incubating bodies.
The Holy Five are the backbone of the resurrection plan. They are five mutants capable of hatching bodies, who have always stayed near the totem under strict protection. The mutants also highly regard them as saints who protect the future of mutants.
However, Schiller wasn't there to find them. Just moments ago, the resurrected Magneto had emerged from the totem.
He took the clothes from the mutant beside him and put them on. Schiller looked at him and said, "I'm going to the Shi'ar Empire; it might be able to solve the mutant problem. Do you want to come with me?"
“Of course. I won’t let those guys who hurt Charles get away with it.” Magneto narrowed his eyes slightly. “Perhaps you’re right. Mutants have never been too tough, but rather not tough enough. We’re too cautious, and we always end up being the victims.”
The journey to the Shi'ar Empire was quite simple; it could be done directly through the Sun Portal. Otherwise, it would have been quite a hassle. Schiller, now using Mephisto's skin, met up with Magneto on Feathered Star.
“Go find Scott,” Schiller said. “Soothe him or stall him. I’m going to talk to Gabriel.”
Magneto did as he was told without saying anything. He and Scott were on good terms now, and Scott would listen to him, so keeping him occupied wouldn't be difficult. However, he still had some doubts about what Schiller wanted to talk to Gabriel about.
But thinking about it, it makes sense. If Gabriel wasn't the one who killed Professor X, then the person who did it was probably Gabriel's enemy. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, so cooperating with him isn't entirely unacceptable.
"Alright, you should be calm now, right?" Schiller walked in from outside and said, "I know that even if you didn't instigate it, you let it go."
“I don’t need to do that.” Gabriel turned around.
"Your rhetoric to Scott won't work on me. If you were truly the kind of person who is completely unemotional and only driven by self-interest, you wouldn't have waited for me to help you seize power."
Gabriel's eyes widened slightly. He stared at Schiller and said, "You look different now, you smooth-talking devil."
“My friend is sick, I’m not in a good mood, and I don’t have time to waste with you. If you disagree, I’ll push Scott to take over. Don’t you think that’s the best solution for everyone?”
Gabriel narrowed his eyes, and Schiller continued, "Professor X is worried that you might control Cyclops. But if he becomes emperor himself, there won't be that risk. He's your brother, and he feels guilty towards you. He'll do his best to make it up to you once he takes the throne, so you don't need to worry. He's also a perfectly acceptable ally for mutants. And his own abilities are more than enough for the position. What do you think?"
“Impossible,” Gabriel said in a deep voice, “The throne can only be mine.”
"Since that's what you think, then you'd better obey. Otherwise, the same way I put you on the throne, I can put others on the throne as well. Your Majesty, the fate of every tyrant is to be overthrown in the same way."
Gabriel gritted his teeth, seemingly wanting to say something, but realized Schiller was right. He simply couldn't suppress the rebellion within the country. Those nobles, who had already shown a tendency towards independence during the time of Decken, were now even more unbridled.
“Can you help me deal with them?” he asked.
“No,” Schiller answered decisively. “However, mutants will want revenge, and you can cooperate with them.”
"So what are you here for?"
“I have another matter to advise you on,” Schiller paused before continuing, “What are your thoughts on the military strength in the solar system?”
"News of the rebellion has already spread, and I have no control over them. If you expect me to make them retreat, you're dreaming."
“I don’t expect that,” Schiller said. “Why do you think those soldiers have a chance to come back?”
Gabriel frowned at him, and Schiller continued, “Tell me the weaknesses of the weapons and soldiers, and I’ll tell the Earth government, and then they’ll swallow those soldiers whole. Just like the weaknesses of the Avengers that I told you about before.”
Why do you think I would do that?
"I told you, you have no choice."
Gabriel looked into Schiller's eyes, a sense of dread creeping into his heart. He didn't know where this feeling came from; it had simply arisen suddenly within him. This devil was beginning to make no attempt to conceal his evil and cruel nature.
"You have no fear of anyone in the Shi'ar Empire, you start wars without any burden, and killing is like an instinct. Because, in essence, you hate them far more than any human being. You even feel that your time on Earth was the best time of your life."
Gabriel was completely taken aback by his directness. His hand instantly gripped the hilt of his sword, tightening his grip. He took a deep breath and said, "They took me from the earth and killed my mother. My only purpose has always been to destroy the Shi'ar Empire."
"Professor X's claims about manipulating Cyclops to pursue power are completely unfounded. I'm not explaining because I want to see their misunderstanding deepen. I admit, I want to see that hypocrite who abandoned me suffer." Gabriel finally revealed his true purpose. "Being betrayed by your favorite student must be very painful, right? But he should have thought of this day when he abandoned me. This is his retribution."
“You only need to think about one question now,” Schiller completely ignored his words, “Do you still want to go back to Krakia?”
Gabriel's hands clenched again, betraying his anxiety and panic. His Adam's apple bobbed violently as he said, "Why should I go back to a place full of my enemies?"
"Because that's where mutants live. They don't want to abandon any mutant, not even you. You're tempted by that, aren't you?"
"What 'we won't abandon you'? It's all a lie!" Gabriel finally broke down. He said, "Those people are complete hypocrites. On the surface, they treat every classmate and student equally, but they abandoned me alone. They even erased the memories of me from my closest people. This can never be forgiven!"
"Alright. Then you should think about how to deal with Cyclops. He'll definitely try to persuade you to go back; he won't give up."
“I will not go with him.”
“Then you will definitely hurt him. You know he is innocent, he has not hurt you at all, and he is the person closest to you.”
Gabriel turned away, not wanting anyone to see his expression, and remained silent, offering no further response. This in itself was an attitude. After a long pause, he said, "The combat unit's data is at the SS headquarters. Go get it yourself if you want."
"I don't want those ordinary data, I just want weaknesses that can kill with one blow."
“There is no such thing!” Gabriel roared.
“You must have one,” Schiller said. “Otherwise, you would be more eager than I am to eliminate them. Because once they return from the portal, they will be the greatest threat to your rule. You must have a weakness that completely counters them.”
Gabriel pursed his lips, took a deep breath, and then said, "The Source Crystal can forcibly absorb the consciousness of a marked soldier. It was originally intended for resurrection, but it can also be used for something else."
Upon receiving this news, Schiller didn't linger. He went to the SS headquarters to retrieve the documents, which would be used during the battlefield cleanup. After all, a list was needed to collect the spoils.
Upon returning to Earth, he brought the information and data to Captain America. Captain America looked at him with surprise several times, but assumed that he had used his intelligence network to find out the information within the unit. Nevertheless, he took the data and immediately began to formulate a plan.
Schiller had just returned when Matt told him that, as expected, the servers hosting the virtual assets on Clarkia Island had been attacked. However, they seemed to have methods to maintain server security that hackers couldn't penetrate. It wouldn't be long before sanctions were imposed.
“They don’t have much time left to negotiate,” Schiller shook his head. “The Avengers have already found the Shi'ar army’s fatal weakness, and the war will be over soon.”
“Why do I always feel like this wasn’t your original plan?” Steve turned around and said, “You must have had many other purposes, right?”
“Not much left.” Schiller shook his head. “Originally, I wanted to use this force, along with the relationships between Gabriel, Scott, and Professor X, to create a divided Shi'ar Empire, and to make the portal in the sun permanent, transforming another living island, which shares the same origin as Clarkia, into a mobile territory that could travel between the two countries. That would perfectly solve the mutant problem. That’s all.”
"And now?"
"The Shi'ar Empire might not split so badly, but it certainly won't be any better. Let them find the Living Island themselves. Right now, I just want to end all this as soon as possible and bring Tony home."
“You don’t need to worry too much,” Matt said. “Tony’s fever has gone down, and he’s much better. The life support system in his armor will keep him unaffected by the island. Besides, I don’t think he’s had enough fun himself.”
Schiller sighed, "If we let him do it his way, he'll exhaust himself. But you've just arrived, so you must still be eager for more."
“We have to finish what we started,” Steve said. “We also want to see Clarkia develop. And Bucky and Natasha might have some free time later and want to come and visit after seeing the scenery photos we posted.”
Schiller seemed determined to stick to his opinion. Only Strange stood up from the sofa and said, "Instead of worrying about them, worry about yourself. If Tony needs to rest, all his work will fall to you. There's a lot of work to be done building Clarkia Island, overseeing agriculture and developing industry. Are you sure you can handle it?"
“…Schiller is coming to develop industry? No, no, no!” Stark, who was on his deathbed, sat up in shock. “He absolutely mustn’t do anything! I don’t want to spend the rest of my life on this island!”
The others burst into laughter.
