Chapter 79 The Female Officer's Shock
Chapter 79 The Female Officer's Shock
"Hunter squad, move out!" Gray Wolf's roar rang out on the radio channel.
Immediately afterwards, intense gunfire erupted from the core area.
As Lu Ye and his two companions rapidly approached the bottom of the cliff, they listened to the voices of the hunter team members coming through their tactical headsets.
"Giant Bear, suppress the right-side machine gun bunker! Iron Hammer, follow me into the core control room!"
"Bang bang bang! Rat-a-tat-tat!"
"Flashbang throw! Three, two, one, go!"
"Blacksmith, there's a heat source in the left window. Remove it!"
"Understood, follow-up shot!"
"Hawk Eye! Enemy mortar team spotted. Suppress them!"
"Roger that! Captain, you have three minutes left. Enemy reinforcements are flanking from the flank!"
Meanwhile, Lu Ye and his two companions were using the light from the explosion to rush towards the bottom of the cliff.
Two hundred meters, one hundred meters, fifty meters.
"Grab the rope!" Lu Ye rushed to the bottom of the cliff, turned around and shouted to the female officer following closely behind, "You go first! This is the safest time. The fighting is fierce ahead, and the enemy's attention is entirely on the village!"
The female officer shoved away Lu Ye's outstretched hand and pointed upwards: "You go first! You're the sniper; only if you go up there can you provide better cover for us!"
Lu Ye didn't hesitate; he was only being polite because of her high status. Now that she had brought it up, Lu Ye wouldn't stand on ceremony, and besides, there were no pursuers at the moment, so this was the most reasonable course of action.
He hooked the SVCh behind his back, gripped the rappelling rope tightly with both hands, and braced his feet against the rock face, beginning a rapid ascent.
Lu Ye covered a height of fifty meters in less than two minutes.
After reaching the top, Lu Ye used a forward roll to dissipate the force, and then quickly positioned SVCh on the edge of the rock.
"Ready, you can come up now! Quickly!"
Two minutes later, the two climbed up the cliff.
Meanwhile, after observing the battle situation in the village, Lu Ye realized that there was little chance of success.
Not a single Ukrainian soldier showed themselves in the core area of the village; they were all using cover to stop the hunter squad's advance.
So Lu Ye set his sights on the front of the village.
That was the only road connecting the village to the outside world.
"Attention! Ukrainian troops at several outposts around the village entrance are moving. They are reinforcing the village from two directions!"
"There are about 30 in total, and they are less than 500 meters away from the village entrance."
"Shall we proceed according to the original plan? Find a way to capture the Ukrainian army's bunker!"
"No, we can't leave." Lu Ye stared at the crosshair. "The hunter team is already under immense pressure. If this reinforcement enters the village, none of them will make it out."
"What do you want to do?" The female officer squatted down next to Lu Ye, quickly checking the pistol magazine.
"Stay here and cover them." Lu Ye said calmly, his fingers beginning to fine-tune the scope's mil position.
"We are now behind enemy lines, and the survival of every team member is crucial. If the Hunter Squad is wiped out, we won't get far either."
After listening, Vasily immediately advised, "Lu, this is too risky. Besides, the nearest reinforcements are more than 1200 meters away!"
"Vasily, retreat to the bunker two kilometers away, observe the situation, and prepare to provide backup."
The female officer suddenly interrupted Vasily, and she leaned down next to Lu Ye and took out an observation telescope from her tactical bag.
"I'll be your spotter and provide you with environmental information." She turned to Lu Ye and said, "Although your SVCh has been heavily modified, long-range sniping without a spotter is just a waste of bullets."
Vasily opened his mouth, but seeing the female officer's resolute profile, he could only shrug helplessly: "Alright, sir. I'll set up a second sniper position 500 meters ahead to support you."
Having said that, Vasily crouched down and quickly disappeared into the night.
Lu Ye glanced at the female officer beside him, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes: "Okay."
"Target distance: 1220 meters. Wind speed: 3 meters per second from left to right. Air humidity: 62 percent. Elevation angle: -12 degrees."
With the support of [Precision Shooting LV3], the disturbances caused by the wind and the trajectory of the bullets were automatically generated in Lu Ye's mind.
"puff!"
SVCh let out a deep roar, and the huge recoil made Lu Ye's shoulders tremble slightly.
Four seconds later.
The female officer clearly saw through her binoculars that the target's head exploded instantly.
"Hit. Next one."
The female officer's fingers trembled slightly. Before she could even announce the correction parameters, Lu Ye had already hit the target.
"Target distance: 1280 meters. Wind correction..."
"puff!"
Lu Ye pulled the trigger again.
"Another...shot?" The female officer felt a surge of shock.
Although she wasn't a professional sniper, she had seen countless top snipers inside.
In such cases, the first-shot hit rate is almost zero when shooting from a distance of over 1,200 meters.
Snipers need to observe the ball's trajectory feedback from the hand and make secondary corrections before they can hit the target.
But Lu Ye didn't need any feedback at all.
"Target: Rear infantry commander," Lu Ye announced the target himself.
"Wait, the distance has increased to 1340 meters! He's running, you need to correct to the left..."
The female officer hadn't finished speaking.
"puff!"
The third shot rang out.
A moment later, the officer who was waving his arms to direct the infantry to disperse had a hole in his chest.
[Kill 2 enemy soldier, reward 200 points!]
[Kill one enemy officer, reward 200 points!]
At this point, the female officer had completely stopped counting off.
She put down her binoculars, turned her head, and looked at Lu Ye as if he were a monster.
Lu Ye's body and the gun butt seemed to be integrated as one, without any unnecessary shaking.
"What are you looking at?" Lu Ye asked, his crosshair already locked onto a new target.
"You...don't need to calculate the lead? At this distance, a bullet takes almost four seconds to travel, and you don't even calculate the lead?"
The female officer's voice carried a hint of undisguised shock.
"I've already figured it out in my head," Lu Ye replied casually.
"puff!"
The fourth shot.
A Ukrainian soldier attempting to set up an RPG rocket launcher was shot through the shoulder the moment he knelt down.
[Kill 1 enemy soldier, reward 100 points!]
The reinforcements on the highway were completely thrown into chaos.
They couldn't find the sniper's location at all.
In their view, the people around them died without any warning.
The last 500 meters from the village now felt like a death trap.
The soldiers scrambled for cover and scattered into the trenches on either side of the road, none daring to advance another step toward the village entrance.
Lu Ye raised the muzzle of his gun slightly.
The female officer quickly raised her binoculars.
"puff!"
Wait at least five seconds.
"Bang!"
A soldier collapsed onto the muddy ground, twitched a few times, and then stopped moving.
[Kill 1 enemy soldier, reward 100 points!]
The female officer fell completely silent, then whispered a number: "Five hundred and ten meters."
This level of shooting skill was beyond her comprehension.
Looking at Lu Ye's unusually cold profile in the moonlight, her pride was completely shattered.
"The reinforcements were scattered, and they dared not show themselves for at least five minutes."
Lu Ye removed the magazine, replaced it with a full load, stood up and looked at the female officer, "The mission isn't over yet. The Hunter Squad is about to break through. Let's take the bunker and prepare to provide backup."
The female officer paused for half a second, then took a deep breath to calm the shock in her eyes.
"Okay." She propped herself up and followed behind Lu Ye, her eyes occasionally glancing at the figure carrying the sniper rifle.
