Chapter 40: Naval Warfare
Chapter 40: Naval Warfare
As if to fulfill Zhou Yuan's words, suddenly, a thick pillar of light shot into the sky from the eastern horizon of the city, slanting across the sky, its brightness even greater than that of the sun.
The beam of light pierced through the dust and particles in the sky, appearing colorful. From a distance, the beam seemed to be trembling, like ripples of light waves.
Everyone was terrified and scattered in panic, creating chaos. Four of the six fighter jets flew towards the source of the beam of light.
Jess's face turned pale, and he quickly turned to ask, "What happened?"
Zhou Yuan was speechless with frustration and wanted to curse. What a coincidence! He waved his hand and said, "Sorry, we don't know what happened either. We didn't do it."
By this time, fewer and fewer people were around the square, and Jess's entourage, still waiting at the foot of the monument, were stamping their feet in frustration, several shouting loudly for the Secretary of State. Fortunately, they saw the luxury helicopter flying towards the monument.
"Jace, I'm sorry, believe us, it wasn't us. I'll find out what happened first, and then I'll come find you."
As soon as Zhou Yuan finished speaking, Jess slowly descended. When he landed on the ground, his attendants rushed forward to help him up. When they looked up at Zhou Yuan and Wei Shan again, they had already disappeared.
"Shanmei, what do you think is going on? Have I really become a god?" Zhou Yuan gave a wry smile.
"Brother Zhou, I don't know either. Let's go back to the fleet base first."
Five stealth flying saucers arrived at the Alpha Fleet command post in an instant, where Fleet Commander George greeted them.
"You two have come at the right time. Dean Zhou, this beam of light is emanating from an abandoned junkyard on the outskirts of this city. It is 300 meters in diameter and its target is a probe launched by the Yama people more than 410 years ago. It will destroy that probe in nine months. Judging from the diameter and intensity of this massive beam of light, it is clearly beyond the capabilities of the Yama people."
"Emitted from the junkyard?" Zhou Yuan pondered for a moment. "This is just a concealment technique; I also don't think the Amarans could have done this. Commander, have any other warships or anomalies been detected in this star system?"
"No, we searched the entire space of this galaxy."
"That's strange. What about the subsurface and oceans of this planet?"
“Dean Zhou, no, not at all.” George beckoned, and a female adjutant approached. “Jones, activate the planetary three-dimensional deep scanning system.”
“Yes, sir.” Jones tapped the holographic screen, waved her hand to quickly bring up the scanning system, and then pressed a button. In the vast command center space, a three-dimensional holographic projection of the planet leaped out from an empty space, like a transparent sphere. Red dots on the planet's surface represented cities and population clusters, several large blue areas were oceans, green areas were forests, and white areas were rivers. Even the military bases of various countries on Planet Ama were clearly visible. Then came the planet's internal structure, the layered structure of the crust, mantle, and core, with the thickness, main elements, and elemental abundance of each part marked. When Zhou Yuan's gaze was fixed on a certain spot, the hologram would automatically rotate, pushing that spot in front of Zhou Yuan and magnifying the local details. Zhou Yuan quickly scanned the hologram, which also rotated rapidly. Suddenly, Zhou Yuan's gaze fixed on a very large blue area. The hologram rotated and magnified, revealing some inconspicuous small raised dots in that area.
“This ocean is strange, Commander. I want to split the seawater in this place open and see what’s underneath.”
Why not send warships to dive to the deep seabed?
"Because I want all the Amarans to see clearly that their planet actually harbors a marine civilization. Those Amarans even think that the pillars of light were our doing."
"it is good."
The only topic of conversation among the Amarans on this planet was where the two "aliens" had gone, and whether that massive beam of light was actually created by "aliens." The Amarans were even divided into two camps over this, engaging in heated online arguments and making television news coverage of the event. A well-known journalist tried every means to interview Secretary Jess, but he refused to appear. On the streets, some even held up signs that read "Welcome to the aliens!" and "Aliens, please save us!"
Several major powers scoured the skies with their advanced detection facilities, but found nothing. The leaders of these nations convened an emergency meeting to discuss the situation. They only knew that two "aliens" had appeared, but they could no longer be found; the two had vanished into thin air. Opinions differed on how to respond to the aliens' return. Some advocated immediate arrest, others contact and communication, and still others declared certain death. Unable to reach a consensus, they ultimately decided that whichever country's territory the aliens appeared on had the right to decide its response, and other countries were not allowed to interfere. This decision likely stemmed from the leaders' belief that even if the two aliens were incredibly powerful, could they possibly cause any real trouble?
Two days later, things really did turn upside down.
That morning, all live television broadcasts in various countries were cut off. The screen showed a tall, handsome man hovering high in the air, with the ocean beneath his feet. Everyone exclaimed in surprise, "The alien Zhou Yuan has appeared again!" But Wei Shan was nowhere to be seen. The world leaders, unaware of the location of this ocean, could only stare helplessly at each other, wondering what Zhou Yuan was up to.
Suspended high in the air, Zhou Yuan waved to the camera and smiled kindly at everyone. Many of the Yama people seemed to be infected by his smile and relaxed a little.
Zhou Yuan pointed to the sea, then suddenly made a chopping motion. The camera panned across the vast ocean, zooming out to make Zhou Yuan's figure appear smaller, but the sea underwent an astonishing transformation. On either side of the direction of Zhou Yuan's chopping motion, two walls of waves shot skyward, reaching the heavens, yet they did not fall due to the planet's gravity. It was as if a flat carpet had been suddenly erected vertically at both ends from the air. Good heavens, he had actually parted the sea! A massive trench appeared in the ocean, tens of kilometers wide. As the walls of waves on either side of the trench rose higher and higher, the trench also deepened, and the camera slowly peered into it. Ten minutes later, a huge bulge could be faintly seen within the trench.
The camera zoomed in, revealing a colossal city in the sea, only a corner of it visible, the sides still submerged. Suddenly, dozens of shark-shaped warships emerged from somewhere above the city, hurtling towards the camera and firing kinetic energy projectiles. The camera accelerated sharply, climbing upwards, dodging the attacks, but keeping its focus on the warships. The Amazons held their breath, eyes wide, staring blankly at the screen, utterly dumbfounded. Some dropped their water cups, others choked on their food. Aliens—no, a marine creature—were in the ocean, our neighbors! And we hadn't even noticed them!
The clever Amarans immediately realized the reason for the technological obstruction: it was all the work of these marine creatures. No wonder all but the first probe launch had failed. Everyone was filled with righteous indignation.
As the camera pans through the wave wall, the waves on both sides slowly recede and fall back into the sea.
The Amazons saw through the live stream that dozens of huge shark warships suddenly emerged from the seabed, each warship being almost 600 meters long.
As the warship broke through the water, seawater cascaded down its hull like a waterfall. The warship reflected the sunlight and was enveloped in a colorful halo. Suddenly, dozens of huge rainbows appeared in the sky, creating a spectacular scene.
The dozens of shark-like warships flew directly towards Zhou Yuan, simultaneously firing volleys of kinetic energy bullets. As the high-speed bullets pierced through the seawater cascading from the warships ahead, raindrops splashed everywhere, creating numerous raindrop-filled flowers in front of Zhou Yuan's body, which vanished in an instant. The bullets, carrying a trace of water droplets, also briefly displayed iridescent colors, all heading directly towards Zhou Yuan.
Looking at Zhou Yuan suspended in the air, people clenched their fists nervously, sweating for him, fearing that something might happen to him.
Zhou Yuan spread his five fingers on his right hand and pushed forward. The bullets fell into the sea as if hitting a wall. The shark-shaped warship fired high-energy lasers at Zhou Yuan again, but these lasers seemed to be absorbed by something invisible and disappeared without a trace. The shark-shaped warship seemed to be enraged, and dozens of warships accelerated towards Zhou Yuan, trying to ram him to death.
Zhou Yuan remained calm and pointed at the warships in the air. The Yama people were completely stunned. As if by magic, the warships Zhou Yuan pointed at would disappear into thin air.
Sensing danger, the following warships made an emergency turn and plunged into the sea, creating huge waves that splashed everywhere.
Zhou Yuan conquered the hearts of most of the Amaryllis with a power akin to that of a god.
Zhou Yuan waved casually at the camera again, a charming smile on his face. This smile fueled the speculations of the Yama people and captivated many Yama girls.
Then the live stream camera flashed and switched back to normal. Zhou Yuan disappeared from the screen.
All the Amarans pulled up the recordings and watched the live stream several times. After calming down, watching those images again left them deeply shaken and unable to calm down for a long time.
Of course, researchers from all countries studied the video repeatedly, trying to find clues, such as why Zhou Yuan blocked the bullets or why the warship disappeared, but they found no trace of anything. It can only be said that either Zhou Yuan truly possessed such supernatural abilities, or the aliens' technology was extremely advanced.
The following day, a report on the hiding places of marine life appeared on the desks of heads of state from various countries.
An emergency global leaders' meeting was convened, and they finally reached a consensus, inviting Zhou Yuan to join forces against marine life. These leaders knew that their military strength was no match for the marine creatures.
Consequently, major media outlets reported on the global joint statement from world leaders expressing their willingness to join hands with Zhou Yuan to combat marine life. Calls for Zhou Yuan grew louder, with people chanting his name in the streets, all hoping for his return to the forefront.
