Chapter 6: The Director and Several Others Died
Chapter 6: The Director and Several Others Died
Stop and look up.
Silver Wolf raised its head warily, its sharp gaze fixed on the direction from which the sound came. Bai Yujin gently patted Silver Wolf's head, signaling it not to be nervous.
As Bai Yujin and the silver wolf gradually approached.
Those men had obviously noticed her too.
Their eyes held both curiosity and wariness.
Bai Yujin stopped and looked them up and down.
The clothes on these people were torn, and some of their shoes were cracked, revealing swollen toes, clearly the result of a long trek.
"Miss, what are you doing here? Did you get separated from me too? Or perhaps..."
Qin Ke was interrupted by Bai Yujin before she could finish speaking.
"I have something to do here, what's going on here?"
Bai Yujin looked at Qin Ke with a hint of inquiry in her eyes.
Qin Ke scratched his head awkwardly and explained, "This is an adventure variety show, and these people and I are the celebrities. This is Brother Ye, the filming crew. We encountered a sandstorm and poisonous scorpions along the way."
The director and several others got separated, and there wasn't time to look for them. We lost our way in the sandstorm.
"I can't get out, and I can't find the exit anywhere."
His words carried a hint of helplessness.
But his eyes darted away intentionally or unintentionally, as if he were hiding something.
In fact, Qin Ke was still hiding a small part of the truth.
This matter should not be discussed casually.
If I were to say it out loud, that would be a huge problem.
"Excuse me, miss, do you have a way to make an outside call? I don't mean anything by it, I just wanted to ask."
Ye Mingsheng stepped forward and cautiously interjected.
There was a hint of urgency in his voice, clearly indicating a strong desire to connect with the outside world.
Bai Yujin shook her head slightly and spoke softly.
"The signal is blocked here, so cell phones are useless. Moreover, this place is quite hidden, so even professional communication equipment may not be able to make a call."
Upon hearing this answer, Ye Mingsheng's face showed disappointment.
Upon hearing this, the others also lowered their heads.
The atmosphere suddenly became somewhat heavy.
Is there really no way at all?
Qin Ke looked dejected and quite disappointed.
He simply plopped down on the ground and didn't move.
"Perfect timing. I'm going out. You can come with me, but you can't go into the desert. Also, don't go into the desert lightly in the future. There are many dangers in the desert."
"I can tell that only a few of you are missing. Could something have happened to them?"
Bai Yujin asked tentatively.
Bai Yujin's questioning caused Qin Ke and the others to exchange glances, their eyes flashing with complex emotions. This was difficult to say, especially given that eerie cave, filled with gloomy white bones...
"A few people are indeed missing. Besides the director, there were several others, but I was just the director's cameraman, and the director is already..."
At this point, a hint of regret flashed in Ye Mingsheng's eyes.
The director and five brothers died. In addition to them, three other artists also died in that eerie cave. He tried to bring the survivors out.
Fortunately, I managed to get out with these people.
But then, they encountered a sandstorm on the way.
"The dead cannot be brought back to life. Forget it, come with me. I'll take you out and then make a phone call for you."
Now that we've seen it, we can't just ignore it.
Upon hearing that someone had killed a sleeping person with a hammer, several people immediately stood up to look at her.
"Really? Then thank you so much."
How could Ye Mingsheng not be happy? He had tried for so long but could never get out of this desert. Now he could finally go back. He was not the only one who was happy.
A hint of surprise appeared in the eyes of the others.
As long as I can go back, I will never participate in adventure programs again.
It really is like constantly brushing shoulders with death.
"Yay, thank you, miss."
Qin Ke's eyes lit up.
He felt as if he could already see the way home.
That familiar Kyoto.
And his family is also worried about him.
Bai Yujin nodded and took off the backpack from her back.
I took two bottles of water out of my backpack and tossed them to them.
"Here, have some water first. I only have these two bottles, sorry. Oh, and there's some food too, here you go." As she spoke, Bai Yujin took out two large bags of sandwich bread and a bag of yogurt from her backpack and handed them to them.
"Take it, eat it as you walk."
Bai Yujin handed the items to Qin Ke, who stared at her blankly.
"What will you do if you give it to us?"
Qin Ke was completely taken aback when this strange woman gave him food.
"I'm not hungry, this is for you. Hurry up and share it with your friends. Don't you see how hungry you are? Hurry up, we have to go out later."
Qin Ke was surprised when Bai Yujin gave her food.
The moment he received the food and water, a warm feeling welled up inside him.
Their experiences these past few days have made them almost forget about warmth.
Bai Yujin's appearance was like a ray of light, illuminating their despairing hearts.
"Thank you, really thank you."
Qin Ke's voice trembled slightly as he quickly distributed the food and yogurt to the others. Everyone eagerly ate the bread they were given.
It was as if this was the most delicious food they had ever eaten.
Bai Yujin stood aside, watching them wolf down their food.
He couldn't help but shake his head and sigh.
"Let's go first, we can eat as we walk."
Bai Yujin clapped her hands to signal them to prepare to leave. Ye Mingsheng, who was standing to the side eating bread, quickly followed behind Bai Yujin. Qin Ke and the others quickly tidied themselves up.
They quickly got up, their spirits seemingly lifted by the food.
The group embarked on their journey home.
Bai Yujin walked in front, while Silver Wolf walked at the very back.
They protect these humans in critical moments.
They moved forward through the grass, occasionally getting their clothes torn by thorny vines, but they could endure it. Compared to the hardships of the desert, it was nothing.
"Can you still hold on?"
Bai Yujin turned around and looked at the people behind her.
"We're fine, we can still endure it."
Ye Mingsheng was panting heavily as he tried his best to keep up with her.
Seeing his expression, Bai Yujin felt even more helpless.
"There's a place to rest up ahead. I'll take you there first."
Bai Yujin's words gave Ye Mingsheng a glimmer of hope.
They followed closely behind her, passing through the dense grass, heading towards the resting place ahead. Sunlight filtered through the treetops, shining on them and bringing them a touch of warmth, while also making them sweat even more profusely.
Soon, they arrived at an open area.
There is a sparse grove of trees, with soft grass under their shade.
"Rest here for a while and bandage your wounds. Here, take this out of your backpack and place a small box and a small bottle on the ground."
"Don't worry, there's no danger around."
Even if there was danger, she had already cleared it away.
