Chapter 76 A Large-Scale Blind Date Party
Chapter 76 A Large-Scale Blind Date Party
The man glanced at Feng, then at Bai, and then at Lin Ni several times before leaving without saying anything more, looking unwilling.
Lin Ni suddenly felt that this bonfire party was rather boring; in the end, it was just a large-scale matchmaking party. So she said to Feng, "Feng, I want to go back."
Feng looked at her and said, "No orcs should dare to come over. If you want to play, play a little longer."
Linni shook her head: "I don't want to play anymore, carry me back."
Feng quickly got up and went to hug her, with Bai and Ye following behind them as they left the campfire circle. On the way, Bai saw the male who had been talking to Lin Ni again; he was standing by the roadside smiling at her. Bai's eyes darkened, then he gave Feng a look. Feng nodded almost imperceptibly, and Bai smiled maliciously. Ye glanced at the two tiger brothers; it seemed a male wouldn't get a good night's sleep tonight. Who said snake-beastmen were treacherous and cunning? Tiger-beastmen were, weren't they?
The four walked in silence for a while. Lin Ni looked up from Feng's arms and said, "Night, I want to eat fish. I also want to eat shrimp and shellfish."
Night said, "I'll bring it back to you tomorrow."
Linni thought for a moment, realizing that if they went too far, the food wouldn't be fresh when they came back, so she asked Feng, "Aren't there any streams, lakes, or ponds near this tiger beast tribe?"
Feng nodded and said, "Yes, there is a small river behind the mountain where we live."
Linni suggested, "Let's find a quiet river tomorrow and go eat some river delicacies together. There are still fifty days until winter, right? You can all take a day off and spend it with me, okay?"
Feng, Ye, and Bai nodded in unison: "Okay!"
Back home, Feng couldn't help but be surprised by Yao's two-level advancement in a single day; no wonder he hadn't attended the bonfire party. Yao had no objections to the arrangement of a group rest and outing the next day, so everyone went straight to bed. Lin Ni naturally slept soundly in Yao's arms all night, completely unaware of Bai's departure that evening or what he did afterward.
The next day marked the first time the family of five, centered around Lin Ni, traveled together. Lin Ni had brought her phone; it still had 90% battery when they moved into their new house, so the battery should be sufficient. Come to think of it, she hadn't taken a picture of Bai since he transformed into human form. They also brought a stone pot, a large stone slab for grilling, and various seasonings. Lin Ni was already looking forward to the day's activities while packing, so after breakfast, they immediately set off.
Feng led them northeast over two mountains, arriving at a valley where surrounding mountain streams converged, forming a small lake about half the size of a basketball court. The scenery was beautiful, and it wasn't sunny at all—truly a comfortable spot. Lin Ni even considered going for a swim, but it was just a thought. The weather was only around ten degrees Celsius during the day, and the lake water would be too cold for her in the morning. She wasn't cold at all, even wearing only a fur coat. She thought it must be because her constitution had improved, as she had felt quite cold in the mornings and evenings on the way to the Tiger Beast Tribe. Now she didn't feel cold at all—it was truly amazing!
Lin Ni played by the water for a while, and seeing Ye and Bai go into the water, she was extremely envious. Yao asked from the side, "Lin wants to go into the water too?"
Lin Ni shook her head: "I really want to, but I'm afraid of the cold." She looked up at him: "What about Yao?"
Yao smiled at her and said, "I want to stay with you."
Linni leaned over and kissed him on the cheek: "You're always teasing me."
Yao looked at her and smiled: "I don't understand what flirting means."
"You can't exactly say it's seduction, can you?" Lin Ni smiled at him, then reached out and forcefully pushed Yao into the water.
With a splash, Yao fell gracefully into the water. Lin Ni stood up and laughed heartily; she had never seen Yao so disheveled before. Yao stood up from the water, smiling indulgently at her. His hair was still flowing and smooth; he didn't look disheveled at all. Normally, as a level six orc, Lin Ni wouldn't have been able to push him down; she had only let her push him on purpose.
Looking at him like that, Lin Ni suddenly felt a little bored. She stood up abruptly, and the sudden movement made her feel a little dizzy.
Feng supported her from behind: "Lin?"
Linni smiled at him and said, "I'm fine."
Linni started looking for scenic spots to take photos. She chose a few places she thought were nice, then called Ye and Bai over. First, the five of them sat together for a proper group photo. Then, she had them strike some rather provocative poses around her. Feng blushed terribly, but still obediently cooperated. Linni liked seeing Feng shy; it wasn't like his expressionless face, which was frightening. His blushing face made her want to tease him! Then she had them transform into animal forms for another photo. After taking more than a dozen pictures, she turned off the camera, satisfied.
This was the second time Feng had seen her fiddling with this treasure, and he asked curiously, "Lin, what is this? Why are our images showing up inside?"
Lin Ni explained, "This is called a cell phone." The phone's battery level was 70%, and even though it was turned off, it was still draining the battery! The power bank could still fully charge it once, but she wondered if it would drain the battery too. She couldn't help but say regretfully, "It's a pity there's nowhere to charge it here, otherwise it would be very useful."
The group watched as she held the item to her chest like a treasure. Ye asked uncertainly, "Is this a treasure from Lin's former tribe?"
Linni smiled and said, "You could say that." She thought for a moment and decided she should explain to them, "I didn't mean to hide things from you about Yao and me before. Actually, I don't know what happened either. I'm still waiting for Yao to regain his memories and tell me the truth." They were both very close to her, and whether it was because they were partners or because of their feelings for her, she felt they would never betray her.
Everyone looked at Yao, who smiled helplessly: "I don't have any clue yet. I should be able to remember once my strength is restored."
Linni turned off her phone and put it away, and everyone started preparing the ingredients for lunch.
Lin Ni first cooked some shrimp, crab, and shellfish to satisfy their cravings, and then asked them to catch fish, remove the bones, and make fish balls. Except for Ye, who preferred to eat undercooked fish paste, the fish balls successfully won over everyone. Everyone made a lot and ended up eating until they were stuffed.
Linni was also surprised to learn that they could eat so much; she suspected they had devoured all the fish in the small lake. Linni also made some dried fish and dried scallops to take back with her; if they could be stored, they would enrich her future recipes.
Also, there are pearls inside the large seashells here, and most of the pearls are pale yellow or pink. Lin Ni happily collected a large handful of pearls.
