Chapter 108 The Ten Thousand Ren Cliff

Chapter 108 The Ten Thousand Ren Cliff

Linni looked at him, unsure if he was telling the truth, though it seemed like people from the Beastman Continent didn't lie.

Yoru looked at Yao with gratitude, then lightly punched him with his fist. Yao smiled and punched him back. Neither of them said anything polite, but everything was understood without words.

First Encounter Mountain and Sun Moon Lake are where Yan and Lin Ni first met, and also where Ye and Lin Ni first met. Beyond First Encounter Mountain lies the place where Bai and Lin Ni lived, arguably the starting point of Lin Ni's life on the Beastman Continent. Now, she sets off again from here, heading towards the unknown Ten Thousand Ren Cliff, a new beginning. This time, however, she is accompanied by powerful companions, top-tier experts of the Beastman Continent: Level 9 Feng, Level 8 Bai and Ye, Level 7 Yao, and Level 6 Yan. She feels no fear for the future, only boundless anticipation.

Linni looked back at the large rock standing at the entrance of the cave behind Moon Pool. The four beastmen on it were imposing, but now, looking at it, it seemed to her that an eagle, a python, and a white tiger (the carving was uncolored, but it had a white beast body, so let's assume it was a white tiger) were besieging the half-human, half-beast tiger-beastman in the middle.

Yao held her hand and noticed that she seemed a little off when she turned around. He asked softly, "What's wrong?"

Lin Ni shook her head: "It's nothing!" She was overthinking it; how could the three of them possibly gang up on Feng? She grabbed Yao's hand and ran forward: "Let's go!"

Linni and her five companions left the junction of towering mountains and sheer cliffs, the very place where she first lived on the Beastman Continent—the First Encounter Mountain Waterfall. The group headed southeast. Linni was tired after running for half an hour, so she had Yao carry her for a while. Then she sat on Feng's tiger back, and after crossing two small mountains, they saw a completely different landscape from the towering mountains.

Upon entering the Ten Thousand Ren Cliffs, the first thing that catches the eye is the majestic mountain range. These towering stone mountains rise abruptly from the ground, their peaks arrayed in vibrant colors, their precipitous forms piercing the clouds. These mountains come in countless shapes and forms, each with its own unique appearance. Without exception, their exposed surfaces are all black stone—no wonder they're called the Ten Thousand Ren Cliffs! One can imagine that from the heights above, these stone mountains would appear like blades pointing towards the sky. Trees, grass, and flowers grow on the mountains, their vitality incredibly tenacious. They appear to lean precariously, as if they might fall at any moment, yet they stand proudly among the stone peaks, unyielding to even the fiercest storms.

The trees here aren't as tall and lush as those in the towering mountains, but they are quite robust, mostly shrubs and similar plants. The plants here also don't bear the same variety of fruits as those in the towering mountains, perhaps because it's still early spring? The plants are blooming with flowers of all colors and sizes, everything is vibrant with life.

Linni couldn't help but exclaim, "The scenery of the towering cliffs is truly breathtaking!"

Today it happened to be Yan's turn to accompany Lin Ni. Yan leaned closer and asked expectantly, "Lin, do you like the scenery of the towering cliffs? Why don't you sit on my back and I'll take you flying up to see it properly?"

Lin Ni was very interested, and Yao suggested, "It's already noon, why don't we have lunch first, and then Lin can ride on Yan's back this afternoon."

Yan glanced at Yao happily: "Okay! I'll go prepare lunch now!"

Thinking that if Linni sat on Yan's back, she would be very safe as long as they didn't encounter any high-level flying orcs, and their speed of travel would be much faster, everyone readily agreed.

Everyone was cooking over a fire under a large tree when they attracted over a dozen level-two forest wolves. Linni and Ye recalled their two encounters with forest wolves during their trip to the Tiger Beast Tribe, especially the second time when they were chased into the Cursed Land, and Yao reappeared during that dangerous encounter. However, a dozen or so level-two forest wolves were nothing to these high-level beastmen. Bai and Ye rushed over and easily subdued the wolves, saving them the time of hunting!

As they ate the food that had been delivered, they couldn't help but reminisce about their encounter with the wolves. Of course, they all tacitly avoided mentioning Yao's sudden appearance that time. Since Linni didn't like talking about their past, they decided not to bring it up and simply assumed that Yao had indeed always been by Linni's side.

Yan also mentioned the surprise he felt when he saw Lin Ni again. He thought he would never see her again, but it turned out that the two of them were quite destined to meet.

Feng listened from the side. This was an experience he had never participated in, but having been with Lin Ni for so long, he wouldn't be unhappy about it. As Lin Ni said, everyone is different and unique, and he believed that he would experience more and better things with Lin Ni in the future.

After lunch, Lin Ni set off on Yan's back. From Yan's back, the scenery of the towering cliffs was even more breathtaking. Yan carried Lin Ni, flying around and admiring the diverse landscapes. Lin Ni couldn't resist stopping with Yan on a high mountain and taking a photo of them together, mainly to capture the unique scenery of the towering cliffs. Then she noticed her phone's battery was down to only 20%—a significant drop! Lin Ni immediately took out her power bank, but it only had about 20% left, far from enough to fully charge her phone. Lin Ni quickly turned off her phone and put it away, deciding not to use it unless absolutely necessary—she didn't know if it would even turn on again if she needed to use it later.

The two played on the mountain for a while, and then Linni fell asleep on Yan's back. Yan flew ahead of Feng and the others, found a suitable place to spend the night, and then circled in the sky, waiting for their arrival.

Feng and the others arrived at the place Yan had found for the night. It was dusk, and a light rain began to fall. Yan slowly descended, and Yao went over and carried the sleeping Lin Ni on his back. Although they were moving very gently, Lin Ni still woke up. She opened her eyes and looked at Yao: "Yao, you're here." Then she closed her eyes again. Although she was awake, she wanted to doze off a little longer.

No one bothered her; instead, they gathered firewood to prepare water for cooking. Although Linni was now mostly eating undercooked food, she still needed hot water to drink, and they even boiled water for her to bathe. Everyone knew she was a clean person and would definitely take a bath whenever possible. Linni had been a little embarrassed when she was traveling with those flying beastmen, worried that they would find her unpleasant, but those males were determined not to make their partners feel uncomfortable.
