Chapter 148 You've Always Been My Favorite
Chapter 148 You've Always Been My Favorite
When Lin Ni closed her eyes and opened them again, she saw Yao's firm chest. Having not slept well last night, she felt a little disoriented and looked up at him: "Yao?"
Yao lowered his head and pulled her up, then gave her a passionate kiss. Lin Ni unconsciously hugged him back, and they kissed for a while before Lin Ni regained her senses. She gently pushed Yao away and saw him looking at her with deep affection. She couldn't help but recall how earnestly he had admitted to being jealous last night. Lin Ni smiled and gently stroked his face: "Yao, are you still jealous?"
Yao lowered his eyes and said slowly, "I know this is wrong, and I will try my best to control myself in the future."
Linni couldn't resist teasing him: "So you're saying you're still a little unhappy?"
Yao pulled her into his arms tightly and whispered in her ear, "I've become bad, don't be angry, I'll change."
Lin Ni's heart softened completely, and she couldn't bear to tease him anymore. She kissed him tenderly and said, "No need to change. You'll always be my favorite Yao."
"Always?" Yao's eyes lit up, but he immediately lowered them again and said, "But you said last night that Bai is the best, the most wonderful."
Lin Ni was utterly exasperated. She hugged Yao and whispered in his ear in Mandarin, still in a breathy voice, "These songs were written by other people. I just sang them to have some fun! I didn't have any other intentions! Like 'Two Tigers,' it was just for fun! Why are you taking these songs so seriously?"
Yao looked at her suspiciously: "Isn't this what you really think?" But when she sang, her eyes were clearly full of white!
Lin Ni was truly defeated by him, but she also enjoyed Yao's jealous behavior. So she leaned over and whispered in his ear, "Yao, I can't forget the first time I saw you, your mesmerizing eyes. Your image is etched in my mind, impossible to forget. Holding your hands, feeling your gentleness, it's almost suffocating. Your innocence, I want to cherish it. Seeing you wronged makes me sad. Oh, I'm afraid I'll fall in love with you. I dare not get too close, afraid I have nothing to give you. Loving you also requires great courage. I'm afraid I'll fall in love with you, maybe one day I'll be unable to control myself..."
The song was Harlem Yu's "Can't Help Falling in Love," and singing it now felt somewhat fitting. After all, she had been truly captivated by Yao when she first met him; his obsidian-like eyes shone like stars, truly mesmerizing. Lin Ni had only sung half of the song when she heard voices below, seemingly from the Eagle Beast Tribe, who had come to see them about something. Lin Ni stopped, looking at Yao, and saw that his eyes had brightened again; he had clearly been appeased. Yao was indeed very happy. Hearing her sing him a song full of love, even though it wasn't finished, he knew for certain of his importance in her heart, and all his unhappiness vanished. So he kissed her lips and said, "Let's go downstairs."
Lin Ni nodded. After Yao helped her get ready and carried her downstairs, she leaned close to his ear and whispered, "Yao, remember, you are the most important person in my heart!"
Yao glanced at her, his eyes so sweet they seemed to melt, and he couldn't suppress the smile on his lips. But the time it took to go downstairs was very short; before Yao could even speak, his feet were already on the ground.
The people who came were Luo and Su, and Ahe.
Luo was delighted to see Lin Ni come down and said, "Lin, I hunted a wild boar for you. Do you want to eat it?"
Linni smiled at him, not wanting to talk to him.
Night stopped the three men who wanted to enter the tree hole and said to Linni, "They said the chief of the Eagle Beast Tribe asked us when we would go to discuss resolving the matter of the Cursed Land."
Yao pulled Lin Ni's hand and walked outside: "Let Lin wash up and have breakfast first."
The group went to the large cave to wash up. Bai, Yan, Xuan, and Ling had already prepared the ingredients for Lin Ni's breakfast. While Lin Ni was brushing her teeth, Yao started cooking breakfast: beast meat porridge with fried eggs and stir-fried shredded meat. The entire cave was filled with the aroma of the food. Everyone had clearly never smelled such delicious food before, and they kept staring at Yao, not knowing whether they wanted to eat it or learn how to make it.
Seeing Bai following behind her with a smile, Lin Ni finished her water and asked him, "Bai, what are you laughing at?"
Bai shook his head: "No, I'm just happy and want to be with you."
So, last night I was with Yao and Ye, right? What's Bai so happy about this morning? Lin Ni glanced at Bai, who was secretly laughing, and decided to ignore him. Yan was also by her side the whole time. He never competed with others (mainly because he couldn't win), so Lin Ni smiled at Yan: "Yan, good morning!"
Yan said happily, "Lin, good morning!"
Lin Ni smiled at Xuan and Ling, who were helping to start the fire and pour hot water: "Xuan, Ling, good morning! Thank you for your help."
Xuan smiled and said, "Lin, good morning! It's nothing, no trouble at all."
Linni and Yao sat down to eat breakfast together.
Everyone was used to Yao and Linni eating together and didn't think there was anything wrong with it. However, Luo, Su, and Ahe, the three males, looked at them strangely. This first partner had a rather high status in the family!
The main issue is that for Bai, Ye, and Yan, cooked food simply doesn't taste as good as raw meat. They find raw meat sweet and packed with energy, so why would they eat cooked meat that they find neither tasty nor high in calories? They'd be happy to eat with Lin Ni at a family gathering, but not on ordinary days. Aside from wasting firewood, cooking so much food takes so long; it's better for Lin Ni to enjoy her favorite food sooner. As for Xuan and Ling, they don't have the privilege of eating food cooked by Lin Ni and Yao. In fact, they've never even tasted a single bite of food they've cooked.
Lin Ni was enjoying a perfectly fried egg, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, when she suddenly saw Ye and Bai fighting. No, it should be said that Ye was hitting Bai with his snake tail, while Bai laughed and dodged, not getting angry at all. Lin Ni asked curiously, "Ye, why are you hitting Bai?"
Ye retracted the snake's tail and sat down next to Lin Ni, saying, "It's nothing, I just don't like him."
Bai sat down opposite Lin Ni: "Lin, he hit me! You said you'd kiss me every time he hit me."
Lin Ni didn't want to talk to him. What was he doing kissing in front of outsiders?
Bai suddenly exclaimed happily, "Lin, listen! The people of the Eagle Beast Tribe are singing the song you gave me!"
Linni: When did I send you a song? She listened carefully and, sure enough, heard them singing "ne-ne-ne-ne, ne-ne-ne-ne." So, is this a done deal? Looks like I can't just sing like that anymore!
