Chapter 190 I Want to Do Something for Lin

Yao cooked stir-fried dishes and rice for Linni, and the two ate lunch together under the watchful eyes of the group from the Beast Carving Tribe. By then, everyone had rested enough, so they packed up their things and prepared to set off again.

While Yao was tidying up the tableware, A-Zhi quietly walked over and whispered, "Yao, are you sure it's okay that you're eating so little?"

Yao smiled and said, "It's nothing, I just ate a bit too much this morning."

Azhi nodded: "Oh, okay."

Since Ye and Bai had already eaten while hunting, he didn't know their condition. Since Lin Ni and the others seemed to be used to it, A-Zhi didn't say anything more.

After everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, they continued eastward.

Shortly after they set off, a light rain began to fall. Luckily, Linni was wearing a raincoat/sunscreen made from the slough of a snake, otherwise she would have gotten soaked. Because the rain wasn't heavy, no one stopped to seek shelter. In the afternoon, they flew over a clearing with only some weeds. Sheng said that it was a cursed land they had cleaned up in the spring; it was now overgrown with weeds, but next year many tall plants would grow back.

The rain had been falling on and off for half a day, finally stopping at sunset, and the group arrived at their resting place for the night. Sheng explained that this was a treehouse they had built high up in several incredibly tall trees when they had visited the rainforest before. As usual, a few people flew down to check it out first, and only after confirming it was safe did they land in the treehouse. Since everyone had already eaten their fill at noon, they didn't need to eat again that evening. They checked the stream below the trees and only went to drink water after confirming it was safe.

Everyone knows that males only need one full meal a day, but females can't. So Azhi took the initiative to come over to Linni, who was stretching under the tree, and said, "Lin, what would you like to eat tonight? I'll go find it for you."

Lin Ni had already made up her mind about her feelings at the Beast Carving Tribe, so she no longer avoided or resisted A-Zhi's approach. She simply smiled and said to him, "You're all tired, so take a good rest. Let Bai and the others go look for it."

Ah-Zhi glanced at Yao, who was standing guard over Lin-Ni, and then said to Lin-Ni, "I want to do something for Lin."

Linni: "I don't need you to do anything."

Bai quickly returned with some firewood and fruit, so Linni ate fruit while watching Bai build the stove.

Yan and Ling were cleaning the treehouse where Lin Ni would be staying. Xuan fetched water for them several times and filled a large tub with bathwater. Then Xuan and Ling went to soak in the water.

Ye quickly brought back some processed fish, shrimp, and crabs.

As Yao started cooking, Bai snuggled up to Lin Ni, holding her hand for comfort. Ye then pulled Lin Ni into his arms and showered her with kisses, kissing her repeatedly.

Linni broke free from Ye's kiss: "Ye, don't do this!"

Night rested his chin on Linni's shoulder and said with a hint of unsatisfaction, "If I can't sleep with you tonight, let me kiss you."

Even though it was agreed upon beforehand, he still wanted it! It was supposed to be his turn to spend time with Lin Ni tonight! Yao spent time with her yesterday!

Linni pushed his head away; his chin pressed against her shoulder, causing a slight pain. Nevertheless, she hugged him and returned his kiss: "Alright, we'll stay in a safe tribe for a few days before leaving."

Upon hearing this, Ye Yi looked at her with a beaming smile: "Really."

Linni nodded: "Mm!"

After a while, he said again, "I should have stayed at the Hot-Blooded Tribe for a few days before leaving!"

He gave him a disdainful look: "Then we might as well stay in the Beast Carving Tribe for a few more days!"

Lin Ni chuckled at Bai's words, knowing they wanted to be intimate with her, so she didn't reply. She thought Bai was very considerate and wouldn't act too intimately with her in public, nor was he jealous, so she didn't want to ignore him because of his magnanimity. Lin Ni smiled, reached out and ruffled Bai's hair, then kissed him on the cheek. Looking back, she saw that A-Zhi was already chatting with Yan.

As Azhi and Yan watched Yao cook, they said to them, "Tomorrow we'll pass through the Scorpion Beast Tribe. Many of the Scorpion Beastmen are poisonous, and they're practically no different from wandering beastmen, so we have to be very careful. After passing the Scorpion Beast Tribe, we'll fly for two more days and then reach the Bear Beast Tribe. The Bear Beast Tribe is very powerful and quite safe; we can stay there for a few days."

"Don't bear-beastmen hibernate?" Linni asked curiously. She seemed to remember that bears hibernated, right? There was no reason why snakes, turtles, and crocodiles would hibernate, yet bears could resist their biological instincts.

Azhi said, "I heard that their bear-beast tribe has many kinds of bear-beast people, some of whom don't hibernate. Our eagle-beast tribe rarely has contact with them, so I don't know much about it."

"There really are bears that don't hibernate! What kind of bear could it be?" Lin Ni said, seemingly to herself.

This volume had no effect on the orcs. Sheng, who was not far away, then came over and said, "I've been there once. There are really a lot of different kinds of bears there: black bears, brown bears, polar bears, and black and white bears, as well as some smaller bears with brightly colored crimson and gray. I can't remember which kinds of bears don't need to hibernate."

Sheng and Azhi both waved their hands, saying that males don't eat female food. Azhi was a little envious when he saw Yao and Linni eating together, but since none of the others were eating, he felt embarrassed to offer to join them.

The lavish dinner left Linni stuffed, and she got up and took a walk around.

After Yao and Azhi finished tidying up, it was completely dark. Sheng and the other beastmen returned to the treehouse to rest. Xuan and Ling also came out of the stream and walked to the large trees where everyone was resting.

"Thank you all for your hard work tonight." Lin Ni gave Ye and Bai a kiss each, and then said to Azhi, Xuan, and Ling, "Goodnight!"

Yao carried Lin Ni on his back, his arms transforming into fiery red wings that shimmered with golden light, and flew up to the tall treehouse. Yao, Lin Ni, and Yan entered the treehouse, only to find A Zhi following behind. He stopped on a branch outside, transformed into human form, and said, "Lin, I'll guard the treehouse for you."

Linni poked her head out: "Isn't it safe for Ye and the others to stay under the tree?"
