Chapter 1127 - 71: So What?
Chapter 1127 - 71: So What?
"So what?" Ning Zesheng reached up and pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
Qiao Anlu only felt a gust of cold wind blow past. "Thanks to Mr. Ning’s protection, no one even dares to take advantage of me! Actually no one really has taken advantage of me. The people who did, I never saw them again later. Which is kind of weird when you think about it!"
She scratched her hair a few times in confusion, looking like she really couldn’t figure it out.
Ning Zesheng looked at She, momentarily at a loss for words. He let out a slight sigh. "Go out. This is the last time."
That was it, just like that!
"Okay!" Since that was the case, she wasn’t about to stay a minute longer than necessary.
However, very soon, she made another mistake. Because the sponsor stared at her chest a few times, she directly slapped him across the face, which led to the ad getting canceled. The sponsor made a huge fuss about it, and it was only after Ning Zesheng stepped in that the whole thing was pressed down.
No matter how Ada tried to persuade her, Qiao Anlu still insisted she absolutely would not apologize!
Even though Sister Ada had told her countless times that once you enter this industry, you have to learn to swallow your anger and be smooth, when it came to this kind of matter of principle, she would never compromise.
Hugging her pillow, Qiao Anlu rolled over on the bed. The ad being canceled was fine by her anyway; she finally had time to rest.
She had just put the lid on her cup and was getting ready to sleep when her WeChat notification suddenly vibrated loudly. Feeling annoyed, Qiao Anlu picked up her phone and saw it was a message from Ning Zesheng, and she instantly sat up straight.
"This time the loss is eight million."
Qiao Anlu started counting on her fingers. Ning Zesheng had said he was keeping a little red ledger for her, seeing how much money she was costing the company.
That must be several hundred million by now, right?
She didn’t know, and she didn’t want to know.
Qiao Anlu grabbed her phone and quickly typed back: "Mr. Ning, I really know I was wrong!"
"You do?"
"Of course, absolutely for real!"
"Come to my place in ten minutes."
...Nani?!
Qiao Anlu practically wanted to stomp her feet. She really could not afford to make mistakes—every time she messed up, she got payback immediately!
She really, really didn’t want to go, but if she didn’t, it’d probably be even worse later!
Only then did Qiao Anlu slowly get out of bed and change her clothes. She had just pulled a dress on when she saw the slightly low round neckline faintly exposing the front and immediately yanked it off, switching to a high-neck top instead. Then she put on a plain-colored coat, threw on a mask and sunglasses, and headed out.
In the past two years she’d made quite a bit of money, bought her own place, and changed to a new car.
But because she’d been so busy, she rarely had the chance to actually drive herself.
It was a rare occasion to be driving today, and Qiao Anlu was genuinely pretty excited.
As soon as she started the car, she turned on the music and started bopping along with it, so hyped she completely forgot she was on her way to the execution ground.
She was in the middle of singing when the car in front of her suddenly braked. She was too lost in the vibe and didn’t hit the brakes in time, and her car slammed right into the one ahead.
Luckily, no one was hurt!
Qiao Anlu was scared half to death for a moment. When she saw the driver in front get out and walk over, she hurriedly rolled up her window and buried her head in the steering wheel.
"Open the door, hurry up and open the door, get out here!" The driver in front kept banging on her window, but Qiao Anlu refused to roll it down.
"Why did you stop so suddenly? If you hadn’t stopped, how would I have hit you?" she yelled, head still buried.
"You expect me not to stop at a red light? Were you even driving properly? If you don’t get out, I’m calling the police!"
As soon as the driver said that, Qiao Anlu couldn’t help but lift her head and shout, "No no no!" She glanced up and—yeah, it really was a red light.
The driver’s eyes lit up. "You’re Qiao Anlu?"
