Chapter 1 Soul Transmigration
Chapter 1 Soul Transmigration
"Tick, tick..."
Thick fog raged in the dark, dense forest.
Moonlight pierced through the thick fog, illuminating a pink-clad girl lying on the ground, her breath faint. Her body was covered with whip marks, and the shackle marks on her legs, where the white bone was worn away, were particularly noticeable, like a withered peony fallen to the dust.
Li Yang moved her eyelids, and when she opened her eyes, she saw a drooling gray wolf sniffing her face.
She instantly regained consciousness, and her body reacted before her brain could issue any commands.
Li Yang leaned against a giant tree to stand up and picked up a stone from the ground.
The gray wolf howled and swung its large tail as it approached her.
"do not come!"
Li Yang stared at it warily, her brain, which had just been turned on, starting to work quickly.
Who is she?
Where is she?
The wailing of cars and the urgent honking of horns still echoed in my mind. She was clearly killed in a car accident on her way home from working overtime, so why was she here?
Soon, the memories that flooded her mind gave her the answer.
She crossed.
This body belongs to Shao Liyang, a genius from Fengyun Kingdom. Her mother is the youngest Spirit Venerable in Fengyang Kingdom and also the head of the Xia family. After giving birth to her, her mother left her with her uncle to take care of in order to find her missing husband.
The uncle had a daughter who was jealous of Li Yang's talent. She plotted to destroy Li Yang's dantian and abandoned her in the desolate forest outside Fengyun Kingdom.
Monsters roam freely in the desolate forest; one wrong move and you could become their meal, just like now...
Very well, Li Yang is not one to suffer a loss. She will make that woman pay a hundredfold or a thousandfold for destroying her dantian!
Coming to her senses, Li Yang narrowed her eyes and stared at the gray wolf in front of her.
She wondered if she was seeing things, but she felt that there was a hint of ingratiation in the gray wolf's eyes.
"Ouch!"
The gray wolf howled once and then walked towards her.
"I told you not to come any closer!"
Li Yang's voice was harsh. As a doctor, she always spoke with a coldness in her voice, and Gray Wolf was caught off guard and stopped by her rebuke.
Just as Li Yang was about to speak again, a cold wind suddenly blew from below!
She quickly covered her skirt, which had been lifted up. "Damn, why is the wind in this godforsaken place so creepy?"
She looked up, cursing, only to find the gray wolf already standing in front of her.
The gust of wind that had just blown away suddenly returned, carrying dust with it, and a dark shadow stopped in front of her. Li Yang's lips twitched slightly. A... whirlwind?
As the dust settled, a cat draped in a rainbow 'battle robe' stopped in front of her, a drop of blood on its whiskers.
This was the first time in Li Yang's life that so many colors had been piled up on a cat; she felt dizzy just looking at it for too long.
The ethereal cat blinked its bright, sparkling eyes at her. "Meow, your blood smells foul!"
Upon hearing this, the gray wolf nodded repeatedly.
Even the ethereal cat messengers could smell it; this girl must be their demon king without a doubt!
Veins bulged on Li Yang's forehead as he hurled the stone in his hand without hesitation, yelling, "Get out of here, you slut! Your whole family is slutty!"
The ethereal cat paused for a second after hearing this, then shrank its ears in a somewhat aggrieved manner. "My inherited memories tell me that the Demon King is a fox, and you are a descendant of the Demon King. There's nothing wrong with what I said, is there?"
"What kind of demon king is this? I don't recognize him."
The ethereal cat didn't speak, but raised its hind paw towards her, and a bead emitting a blue light flew out from its tail.
Li Yang had a premonition that the smelly bead was about to fly over. She disgustedly leaned against a tree and moved away, but the bead still mercilessly sped up and burrowed into her forehead.
"Your uncle's!"
The pungent smell of cat lingered in her nose, and Li Yang's face turned pale with anger.
Suddenly, her body felt light, and when she looked down, she realized that she had somehow become airborne, surrounded by pale blue stars in the darkness.
I have an itchy feeling in my ankles, neck, hands, and even my whole body.
Before long, she noticed that her wound was healing.
"Meow, thankfully what's left with me is the Demon King's water-type spirit tail. If the new Demon King had fallen so soon after being found, my life as a ethereal cat would have come to an end."
Li Yang was immobilized in mid-air, but when she heard the ethereal cat cursing her, she couldn't help but glare at it.
That damn stinky cat, I'm going to pluck all its fur off when I get down there!
About half an hour later, the ethereal cat ignored her murderous gaze and watched her slowly descend.
"Meow! Welcome back, Demon King!"
The gray wolf wagged its tail vigorously, howling "Awooo!"
While suspended in mid-air, Li Yang's mind was not idle. The family background of this body was clear, but her father had no background. Therefore, she guessed that her demon king bloodline was inherited from this body's cheap father.
Li Yang was secretly delighted that such a good thing had happened to her for free.
but!
She flipped through her memories of the demon race and found that they were all images of demons being abused. Even in the original owner's mind, the demon race was just livestock trampled underfoot by humans.
Livestock are only responsible for providing flesh to satisfy people's appetites, while demons are not only used as food, but also as punching bags, toys, and lab rats for humans... If a demon is found walking around on the street, a demon without an owner is thrown into a pig cage, while a demon with an owner is sent back to be properly disciplined.
The veins on her forehead twitched. This cultivation world was a hundred years behind modern times. Even the old society with its cerebellum wasn't this crazy.
After careful consideration and weighing the pros and cons, she decided she wasn't going to be the one to take on this mess.
Just kidding, she's just a transmigrator, not some overpowered female protagonist. Does she really think the demon race can turn the tables and become a better place?
Li Yang glanced at the two demonic beasts lying on the ground wagging their tails, then turned and left.
The ethereal cat was stunned.
She just left like that, all fresh and beautiful? Shouldn't she have asked me about the Demon King?
"Meow! I am the Demon King's messenger, the Spirit Cat!"
Li Yang simply said "oh" without stopping.
The ethereal cat puffed out its whiskers and glared, "Hey, aren't you curious about your identity?"
What Li Yang heard: We need someone like you to take over this mess!
She ran even faster!
The gray wolf didn't react, its ears perked up, its eyes gleaming with stupidity.
The ethereal cat slapped him with its paw, yelling, "Stupid wolf, chase after him!"
"Ouch!"
Then, a chase ensued in the Silent Forest involving a wolf, a cat, and a human.
Half an hour later.
Li Yang leaned against the tree trunk, panting, completely unseemly. The ethereal cat and the gray wolf stopped in front of her, with a few withered leaves stuck in the cat's head.
"Your Highness, why are you running away? We're not going to eat you."
Li Yang snorted, "Anyway, I'm not going to be some kind of demon king, so don't follow me."
As the night grew colder, she realized it was already past midnight.
Suddenly, Li Yang heard a distant bell sound, as if someone was coming this way.
The ethereal cat suddenly became alert. "Oh no! That man is chasing us!"
