Chapter 49 So Indecent
Chapter 49 So Indecent
When the bell rang, Shi Sui tidied her desk, took out a lunchbox from her bag, and walked out of the classroom.
She had arranged to have lunch with Xu Chaomu, and had gotten up early this morning to prepare a bento box. Her cooking skills weren't great; it was fine for satisfying her own stomach, but sharing it with others was a different story.
Shi Sui walked briskly up to the rooftop, thinking about sharing it with Xu Chaomu later, but worried that he would find it unpalatable. Lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice the two people following behind her.
"Brother Chi, let's go eat." Yan Ze was as eager to eat as ever.
Chi Yan raised his chin, his gaze fixed on the back door of the classroom.
Yan Ze followed his gaze and caught a glimpse of the girl's hem fluttering past the back door of the classroom; Shi Sui had just left.
After a morning of speculation, plus the occasional glances at them and eavesdropping on their conversations, Yan Ze's house was already on the verge of collapse.
No, we still have to try to salvage this situation. Yan Ze asked, "Brother Chi, you don't actually have a crush on Shi Sui, do you?"
"Why do you talk so much?" Chi Yan rolled her eyes, grabbed him by the back of his collar, and said, "Let's go eat."
Eating is the most important thing, gossip aside. Yan Ze was overjoyed to go eat, reciting the names of the dishes along the way, but then he discovered—
"Brother Chi, this isn't the way to the cafeteria—"
Chi Yan covered his mouth with one hand and lowered her voice: "Shh, keep your voice down and walk quietly. Didn't you notice we're following you?"
"Following? Following!" Yan Ze's eyes widened, his voice muffled by the gag in his mouth: "Following who?"
"Idiot." Chi Yan muttered under his breath, taking three steps at a time to quickly climb the stairs, wondering, "What's she doing on the rooftop?"
Shi Sui carried her lunchbox and went up the stairs to the top floor. At the end of the stairs was an iron gate with the words "Rooftop Closed" written on it, but the iron gate was useless and opened with a light push.
The seventeen-year-old boy was tall and slender. He wore a white shirt with the collar slightly open, leaning against the railing as a gentle breeze blew by.
The hairstyle was not messy at all; on the contrary, it had a free and unrestrained beauty.
Behind him, the sky was clear and blue, a perfect day straight out of a comic book.
As soon as get out of class ended, Shi Sui headed straight for the rooftop, but she didn't expect Xu Chaomu to arrive even earlier than her.
"Good afternoon," Xu Chaomu greeted with a smile.
The usually aloof boy's smile was incredibly captivating, and Shi Sui was momentarily stunned.
Shi Sui walked quickly closer, stopped beside him, leaned against the low wall and sat down, swinging her legs a bit, and said in a good mood, "Good afternoon."
Xu Chaomu noticed that she was wearing a dress today. The hem of the dress swayed like a light and airy cloud, and her legs were fair, delicate, slender and straight.
Shi Sui didn't notice his gaze and opened the bento box: "I prepared teriyaki chicken thighs and broccoli today. How does it look? Doesn't it look good?"
A pair of bright, sparkling eyes looked over, begging for praise.
"It looks really good." Xu Chaomu then turned his attention to the bento box. The blanched broccoli surrounded the chicken leg meat, which was obviously carefully arranged on the plate.
“It must taste delicious too,” he added.
"Of course." Shi Sui never hesitated to praise herself. She took out chopsticks from the lunchbox and handed them over, "Try it first."
Xu Chaomu hesitated for a moment, not because she wanted to refuse, but because she was a little shy.
"I ate your chicken wings last time, and I told you, next time it's your turn to try what I make." Seeing that he didn't move, Shi Sui forcefully shoved the chopsticks into his hand.
The iron gate to the rooftop was left a crack. Just as Chi Yan was about to open the gate, she looked at her deskmate and wondered why he was running to the rooftop instead of going to the cafeteria for lunch.
Yan Ze, with his sharp eyes, managed to spot a boy's back through the small gap.
Without much thought, the name 'Xu Chaomu' popped into my mind.
Holy crap, what's going on? Shi Sui said she and Xu Chaomu were just ordinary friends. What kind of ordinary friends would hide on a rooftop with a man and a woman?
Now, his house is on the verge of collapse, and there's an 80% chance that Brother Chi likes Shi Sui.
If Chi Ge were to discover that his deskmate, who was so infatuated with him, was actually so indecent, Chi Ge would explode, and he might even be caught in the crossfire.
My life is more important. I'll ask Shi Sui and Xu Chaomu about their relationship later.
In a split second, Yan Ze's mind raced, and he turned around to block the iron gate to the rooftop: "Brother Chi, let's go."
"Leave? We're already here, why would we leave?" He could see clearly that Shi Sui had just opened the rooftop door; they were on the rooftop.
Yan Ze changed the subject: "I'm hungry, Brother Chi, let's go to the cafeteria to eat first, and then come back."
"Are you crazy? They left long ago after they finished eating."
Yan Ze hesitated for a moment, but still thought, "Brother Chi, let's go eat."
Chi Yan looked at him suspiciously, asking, "Are you hiding something from me? Is it related to Shi Sui?"
Could it be that some guy is going to bully her again? Girls like her deskmate, who are weak and don't know how to fight back, are easily bullied.
Yan Ze couldn't think of an excuse, but he still clung tightly to the iron gate.
Chi Yan glared at him, raised his hand and patted his shoulder, saying coldly, "Get out of the way."
Yan Ze not only stepped aside, but also obediently opened the door: I've moved aside, so please don't get angry at me if you see anything later.
Shi Sui was picking food out of Xu Chaomu's lunchbox with her chopsticks when she looked up and, as if by fate, met Chi Yan's eyes from afar.
The boy's face was somber, his eyes sharp and fixed on the scene. Even though his short hair was disheveled by the wind, he didn't look embarrassed at all, exuding an air of arrogance.
Oh, no, I mean extremely hot-tempered.
"How did you end up here?" Shi Sui saw Chi Yan, and behind him Yan Ze, who looked like the sky had fallen.
