Post-Apocalyptic Rebirth: The Ghost Guanyin Transforms into a God

Chapter 73 Aquarium

Chapter 73 Aquarium

Jingzhou Aquarium was once a famous tourist destination, attracting a constant stream of visitors every year. However, after the apocalypse, it became a dead zone.

When Miao Yin and Tu Hao went in, most of the lights were still on, thanks to their long-term backup power supply.

The people who went in earlier and the mutants had all disappeared, but Miao Yin knew where they would eventually hide.

Because among the group of people who had just run in was an acquaintance of hers—Ji Yuanzhou, an ability user who could use lightning.

In their past lives, they also passed through here along this same route.

Miao Yin had never left home since she was a child, and she was very curious when she saw the aquarium for the first time. She really wanted to go in and take a look, but Tu Hao thought it was too dangerous and refused to let her in no matter what.

Just as the two were struggling, Ji Yuanzhou, who had been trapped in the aquarium for seven days, jumped out of the window upstairs.

He somehow got hold of a kayak and used it as a cushion to jump from the fourth floor, but he still got quite badly hurt.

While it was whimpering on the ground, it was picked up by Miao Yin.

He initially thought some mutants had approached, so he instinctively used his special ability on them—it was electrifying and sparking, and it looked incredibly powerful.

Miao Yin immediately clapped her hands, indicating that she was human and could come over and help him. Then, as she got closer, she placed a curse on him and found herself a bodyguard.

Tu Hao called her despicable and shameless.

From then on, they spent some time traveling together as a trio.

During those days, Ji Yuanzhou also told them about his experiences at the aquarium.

After the apocalypse, several neighbors in his neighborhood gathered together and formed a survival team.

Besides him, there was another water-type ability user in the team. They went out together to find supplies and took turns keeping watch at night. That's how they spent more than two months after the apocalypse.

Until that time, when all the shops near them ran out of supplies, they had no choice but to run to a more distant place together.

As a result, he encountered several powerful mutants who couldn't even defeat him with his special abilities.

So they ran away, only to be forced into an even more terrifying aquarium, where they were trapped for a whole week, running out of ammunition and food. In the end, only Ji Yuanzhou survived thanks to his superpowers.

Miao Yin came here specifically to see him.

According to the original plan, she and Tu Hao were supposed to pass by the aquarium a week later, but she has now shortened that time.

She came early so she could meet her teammates who had confessed their feelings to Ji Yuanzhou.

They walked down the stairs to the third basement level and entered the aquarium's underwater tunnel, where the curved glass allowed them to clearly see every inch of the underwater scenery.

Above them stretched an endless blue ocean, and to their right lay a massive, ancient shipwreck with a tattered pirate flag flying over it. Chests overflowing with gold coins and jewels lay nearby, and several colorful fish swam around the wreck. Dim lighting enhanced the ancient atmosphere.

This is an underwater world themed around pirate shipwrecks.

Miao Yin took out a piece of bread and ate it while touring the place, just like a real tourist.

Tu Hao's danger premonition kept ringing, and he was on alert of his surroundings when, inexplicably, Miao Yin stuffed a piece of bread into his mouth.

"..."

He sighed inwardly, but he hadn't eaten all day. After thinking for a moment, he took out his keys from his pocket and removed the bite stopper himself.

After Miao Yin gave him the key last time, she never took it back, so he just kept it with him.

Miao Yin casually took the anti-bite device and put it in his spatial storage, lost in thought about something he didn't understand.

Tu Hao took a bite of bread.

He had no intention of coming to such a dangerous place, but his protests were ineffective.

Miao Yin said she really wanted to visit the aquarium to fulfill her childhood dream, and that if he didn't want to accompany her, she would kill him.

So he's standing here now, watching Miao Yin running around like a naive child.

"Tu Hao, come here quickly and see what this is!" she called out with great interest.

Tu Hao walked over with a speechless expression, while Miao Yin pointed to an object inside the sunken ship that was close to the glass.

To allow visitors to better experience the atmosphere, the aquarium specially damaged the crew cabins and pulled them through the glass, allowing them to see what the crew's sleeping area looks like.

Tu Hao leaned closer to take a look, and Miao Yin was referring to a painting hanging on the wall. It depicted a white skull wearing a hat, with two white bones crossed below it.

"It's just a pirate's symbol," he said.

No sooner had he finished speaking than a woman's pale face suddenly emerged from the sunken ship, pressed against the glass, her features contorted as she stared at him with such force that it even made a clattering sound.

Tu Hao was startled and reflexively took a few steps back, his back breaking out in a cold sweat.

"Hahahaha—" Miao Yin, who had successfully pulled off a prank, burst out laughing.

She had discovered the existence of this mutant human earlier and deliberately lured Tu Hao over, just to scare him.

"So you're afraid of ghosts too!"

She smiled, making Tu Hao's teeth itch with envy.

"Miao Yin! Are you crazy?!"

The deformed man was still banging on the glass, baring his teeth at them.

"Tu Hao, do you think she might crash through?" Miao Yin tapped the glass, and the mutated man immediately started biting at her fingers, but was ultimately stopped.

Tu Hao said irritably, "You don't even know that? This kind of glass is specially designed; it's impossible for it to break."

"Then how did she get in?"

Tu Hao glanced at the mutated human: "Who knows? Maybe it fell from above."

After all, there is a passageway for staff to go into the water.

Miao Yin pressed her hand against the glass and lured the mutated human out of the sunken ship.

Once its entire body was revealed, Miao Yin realized that it was actually a mermaid!

The woman's lower body was no longer human legs, but a long, shimmering blue fishtail, with her long hair flowing in the sea, like a siren in a fairy tale who lures fishermen to ram their boats with her song.

A small fish swam past it, and the mutant grabbed it and stuffed it into its mouth, chewing it with its long teeth, creating a cloud of blood mist in the water.

"It's a pity you can't get out and I can't get in, otherwise I really wanted to try killing a fish." Miao Yin shook her head regretfully.

There's only one mutant in this underwater tunnel. It's eaten most of the fish, and there's nothing else to see besides the shipwreck.

Miao Yin and Tu Hao left the tunnel not long after. The mermaid followed them all the way, but was eventually defeated by the spatial barrier.

They arrived at the seahorse enclosure, where the walls were hollowed out of stone, and the fish were kept inside, separated by glass.

Because they had been neglected for a long time, most of the fish and seahorses had died, and their whitish corpses floated on the surface of the water.

The sound of a creature chewing came from ahead.

On the road ahead, two mutated humans are devouring a male corpse with relish.

Upon noticing someone approaching, they all turned their heads, revealing their blood-stained faces.
