Chapter 191 Return
Chapter 191 Return
The first thing Yan Shuzhou felt when he regained consciousness was a pain in the back of his neck and a cold, stiff back. He opened his eyes and found himself lying in a pavilion.
The sky was already beginning to lighten, and the sun was slowly rising.
He sat up and found that apart from Miao Yin and Ling, everyone else was sitting in their chairs, dozing off.
Since arriving at the zoo, they've been running around non-stop all day, and now that they're relaxing, they're exhausted.
Noticing the change in his breathing, Tu Hao opened his eyes, glanced at him lightly, and then closed them again, clearly not wanting to get involved.
Yan Shuzhou didn't call them, but walked out of the pavilion alone.
They were currently standing on a pavilion by the roadside leading to the zoo, which was on higher ground and offered a view of the zoo's main gate.
But now there are no doors left; the entire zoo has been completely engulfed in flames.
Seeing the flames still burning, Yan Shuzhou felt relieved.
Now, all he has to do is wait for her to come back.
A rustling sound came from the bushes not far away.
Yan Shuzhou looked over alertly and saw a white figure appear.
"Hiss."
It's Lady White Snake.
Its body was much smaller than before, and it carried Ling on its back.
"Sister Ling!" Upon hearing the voice, You Wenwen ran out of the pavilion.
“Wenwen…”
Ling called out to her weakly.
This battle exhausted all her energy; her supernatural abilities were almost depleted; her abdominal wound was inflamed; her whole body was covered in external injuries; her face was bloodless; her lips were purple; and she was covered in cold sweat.
The snake venom has taken effect.
Yan Shuzhou helped her down and let her lean against the pavilion. You Wenwen took her hand and activated her supernatural ability.
Spring's vibrant light quickly healed her external wounds, and then began to cleanse the stubborn snake venom.
"You won?" Tu Hao stood behind her and asked quietly.
"Mm." Ling nodded.
"Look, the flames seem to have gone out," Yao Yue said, pointing to the zoo.
Suddenly, the towering flames vanished, and the sky illuminated by the red light darkened, leaving only the weak rays of the morning sun.
The air suddenly became scorching hot.
Tu Hao seemed to sense something and raised his head, looking towards the horizon.
A giant fiery phoenix flew in from the horizon, its flowing tail leaving a long trail of fiery red light in the air.
"They've arrived," Tu Hao said.
Everyone looked up as the fire phoenix landed with a thud, transforming into a dazzling stream of fire that exploded into a shower of sparks. In the center of the flames, Miao Yin slowly stood up, revealing her pure black eyes.
After breaking through to S-rank, her ghostly body evolved, causing another change in her body.
Now, her physique is basically on par with Tu Hao, who has a body-enhancing ability. She can not only crush steel bars, but also has greatly improved self-healing ability and is immune to all poisons.
However, Miao Yin's appearance also underwent a significant change.
Her skin was an unnaturally pale white, her hair was as black and thick as raven feathers, and her lips were bright red.
The pupils had completely deviated from the normal human color, becoming an unfathomable black. Upon closer inspection, one could see dense, golden cracks within the iris.
A red line spreads from the corner of her right eye, weaving into half a lotus flower. Reflected at the corner of her eye, it is clearly a symbol of holiness, yet it reveals a sinister ghostly aura. A red mole between her eyebrows is as red as blood.
After a fierce battle, Miao Yin was covered in dried blood, and the blood on her hands blended with her fingernails, making them indistinguishable.
If before, Miao Yin only looked more stunning and beautiful than ordinary people, now she has completely lost the appearance that a normal person should have.
With just one glance, no one could help but be awestruck by the eerie aura emanating from her.
She was just standing there, and she looked exactly like a ghost Guanyin who had crawled out of hell.
"Ayin, are you alright?" Ling asked.
Looking at the flames emerging from her palm, Miao Yin said, "There's no feeling better than this."
"You've broken through to S-rank," Tu Hao said.
Miao Yin is now virtually unmatched among superhumans.
“Not enough.” Miao Yin extinguished the flames, her ghostly eyes sweeping over them one by one. “I want to go to a higher place.”
"Xiao Zhou, release all your rabbits and let them collect the crystal cores."
“Okay,” Yan Shuzhou obediently agreed.
Miao Yin set the entire zoo ablaze, burning down the surrounding forests to the ground. The mutants hiding there were all killed, their crystal cores falling into the dust.
Yan Shuzhou's control over his supernatural abilities improved, and a black array appeared beneath his feet, from which pink and white rabbits eagerly jumped out.
Hundreds of nine-tasseled rabbits, under their owner's command, took off and raced toward the zoo to search for the crystallization of power.
Miao Yin walked to Ling's side and asked, "Is the poison gone?"
Yu Wenwen replied, "It's a bit troublesome, but it will be fine soon."
Thanks to Feng Chun's treatment, Ling's complexion did indeed become rosier.
"You all need to rest and recuperate. Once you've had enough rest, we'll go to the Sunrise Shopping Mall," Miao Yin finalized the itinerary.
"Yoshita... shopping mall?" Yao Yue said hesitantly. "Are we going too?"
"Or do you want to leave the body here?" Miao Yin said, tilting her head.
Yao Yue's face paled, clearly remembering what had happened before.
Inside the pavilion, Gong Jingming spoke up: "You are very powerful, and so are your companions. Why are you still holding us captive?"
She clearly doesn't need them.
"Human nature is inherently greedy. I just like collecting strange ability users like you. Is that not allowed?" Miao Yin walked up the steps, golden cracks floating in her eyes, and stared directly at Gong Jingming.
Gong Jingming narrowed his indifferent eyes slightly, but remained silent.
"Or, you might want to come home with me first? That's not out of the question." Miao Yin smiled wickedly.
Her almost inhuman appearance made her seem increasingly neurotic.
Before Gong Jingming could speak, Yan Shuzhou appeared beside Miao Yin, grabbed her sleeve, and interrupted them.
"Sister, let's change your clothes first."
Miao Yin looked down and said, "It's time to change it."
She looked like she'd just stepped out of a horror movie set; her light summer clothes were tattered and torn from the fight.
"Are you going into the space? Take a good rest while you're at it. I'll collect all the crystal cores and then wait for you outside," he said considerately.
Miao Yin was pleased with herself and stopped paying attention to Gong Jingming. She walked down from the pavilion, released two RVs, and took out a syringe of diluted solution, handing it to Ling.
"Wenwen, take good care of your sister Ling. If she feels unwell, give her an injection."
"I understand, Sister Miao Yin, you should get some rest too," You Wenwen said obediently.
After giving her instructions, Miao Yin entered the Guanyin Eighty-Eight Temple.
The air suddenly became still.
Inside the pavilion, Yan Shuzhou's gentle expression vanished. He turned to Gong Jingming and said coldly, "Do what I tell you to do, and don't keep drawing her attention."
Gong Jingming looked at his fellow summoner and felt a rare sense of absurdity.
"It's rare to find a normal person here." Tu Hao said expressionlessly, pausing when his gaze swept over the syringe in Ling's hand.
Ling and You Wenwen neither liked to talk about their past, and Miao Yin didn't either. Therefore, no one here knew about their past experiences.
But Tu Hao could guess it to some extent.
"If it gets out of control, remember to run far away," he reminded.
Ling Cangbai's lips moved slightly: "Don't worry, it won't hurt you."
The conversation ended, and the air returned to silence.
