Dead Soul Island: The scheming childhood sweetheart seduces the aloof beauty

Chapter 100 Possession

Chapter 100 Possession

Mi Lan: "What do we need to do now?"

Jiang Lin: "Find clues to ensure Michelle can advance in this round."

On the other side, Qiu Shumin's heels were practically glued to Ji Xingyi's heels. When Ji Xingyi noticed her and suddenly turned around to look at her, Qiu Shumin's face instantly turned red.

Ji Xingyi: "Why are you following me?"

Chiu Shu-min racked her brains and gave an awkward smile: "Your figure makes me feel more secure."

It's perfect as a shield.

Ji Xingyi: "Get lost."

Qiu Shumin took a few steps back dejectedly, then turned to look at Jiang Lin. It seemed that among this group of people, this young man was the most gentle and reliable.

Jiang Lin's eyes were playful: "I advise you not to get so close to me. If I'm possessed by an evil spirit, you'll be the first person I kill."

Qiu Shumin felt uneasy under Jiang Lin's gaze and quickly distanced herself.

Mi Lan stopped in front of the display cabinet in the living room and picked up a photo frame that was upside down on the cabinet. Because it was face down, the front of the frame was not covered with dust, and inside was a family photo of the four of them.

Mi Lan handed the photo to Jiang Lin: "This should be Cooper and his family."

The filming location was on the sofa in the lobby. Ku was holding a little brown-haired girl, who was also holding a doll wearing a red floral dress. The beautiful lady next to her was holding a little boy, who was engrossed in playing with a blue toy car and had a cute smile on his face.

"How pitiful." Mi Lan sighed softly as she looked at the once happy family of four.

Jiang Lin chuckled: "In a few minutes, you'll be pitying yourself."

Mi Lan stuck out her tongue playfully, a rare occurrence for her.

Seeing that there was no danger around, Yang He followed Wen Shang towards the restaurant. They arrived at the kitchen, where the gloomy man stopped in front of the island counter.

"What's this?" Yang He followed and saw a Western-style dinner knife on the table. He instinctively reached out. Just as his fingertips were about to touch the handle, Wen Shang grabbed his wrist.

"Looking for death?" Wen Shang said coldly.

Yang He gave an awkward twitch of his lips: "I'll just take a look."

Wen Shang: "Those who survived all had knife wounds on their bodies."

Yang He's face stiffened as he understood Wen Shang's meaning. He looked down at the dagger again with a newfound wariness in his eyes.

"Michelle has gone upstairs, hurry up and follow her!" Qiu Shumin's voice came from the restaurant.

Wen Shang immediately turned around, and Yang He swallowed and followed.

The villa's staircase was not wide, barely wide enough for two people to walk side by side. The six people followed Michelle to the second floor and immediately felt the chill that hit them.

"Why is it so cold here?" Mi Lan could clearly feel that the temperature around her was much lower than on the first floor. Outside the villa, the sun was shining brightly. Theoretically, hot air should rise and get warmer as you go higher.

Even though there was no wind, a chill crept into her body. Mi Lan felt as if her clothes were made of paper and were completely useless, so she couldn't help but rub her hands together.

"How could four ghosts not be cold?" Qiu Shumin muttered to herself, leaning against the wall.

Jiang Lin: "Let's split up and look for clues."

Michelle turned and went into the first bedroom on the right, followed by Jiang Lin and Ji Xingyi. Qiu Shumin followed closely behind, but as soon as she shone a flashlight inside, she screamed, "Ahhh—!"

The room was covered in dust, and when the light shone on it, a pair of eerie eyes could be seen flickering in the gray haze!

Yang He and the others rushed back immediately, and the entire bedroom was instantly illuminated by six flashlights.

The room was filled with dolls—more than fifty of all sizes—on the floor, on the bed, and in the display cabinets!

The pairs of eyes that Qiu Shumin saw were caused by the reflection of light from the doll's fake eyes.

Even if they're fake, so many human-shaped dolls are still creepy.

Some wore lace dresses, others wore handmade clothes. Ten years had not made them decay; even though their clothes were dusty, their plastic eyes were exceptionally clean.

"I...I'll go look somewhere else." Mi Lan couldn't stand these creepy dolls. Memories of terrifying dolls flooded her mind, and she clenched her fists and turned to leave.

"You can take your time to study it!" Qiu Shumin also hurriedly left with small, quick steps. In a short while, only Jiang Lin and Ji Xingyi remained in the room.

Jiang Lin reached out to pick up a doll to take a look, but Ji Xingyi put her arm around him and said, "I'll do it."

Jiang Lin's eyes flickered slightly: "Okay, be careful."

Ji Xingyi casually picked up a doll from the cabinet, her hands immediately getting covered in dust. The doll wore an old-fashioned denim skirt and had a golden braid. Ji Xingyi reached out and brushed the dust off the doll's face, making sure it was okay, before handing it to Jiang Lin.

Jiang Lin picked up the doll, glanced at it, then looked around at the other dolls in the room and shook his head, saying, "It's not here."

He then handed the photo frame he was holding to Ji Xingyi. In the photo, his 9-year-old daughter was holding a doll wearing a red floral dress. This doll in the red floral dress was not among the fifty-odd dolls in front of them.

Mi Lan went to the next room, finally able to get out of the dolls' sight, and breathed a sigh of relief. Shining her flashlight around, she saw that this room also had many toys, but most of them were toy cars, building blocks, and other boy toys. Mi Lan guessed that it was Cooper's son's room.

Just then, Mi Lan was suddenly tapped on the shoulder. The boy, focused on the room, was caught off guard and took a step forward in fright. Unfortunately, his foot landed on a mini toy car, the wheels slipped, and Mi Lan fell uncontrollably to the ground.

"Help!" Mi Lan screamed in terror.

When Wen Shang arrived, he saw the boy crawling and scratching haphazardly on the floor, with Qiu Shumin standing awkwardly at the door. Wen Shang glared at the woman, then grabbed the boy by the collar and lifted Mi Lan up: "Stop yelling!"

Mi Lan blushed from head to toe, looking as red as a boiled shrimp, only then realizing it was a misunderstanding.

"I'm sorry... I didn't know you were so timid." Qiu Shumin quickly apologized. She didn't mean any harm; she just saw the boy standing there motionless and thought she would say hello.

"No, it's okay." As Mi Lan was speaking, she suddenly felt something in her hand. When she picked it up, she saw that it was a blue toy car that she had grabbed from the ground in her panic.

Why does it look so familiar?

Before Mi Lan could figure things out, Yang He's voice came from next door. It turned out he and Michelle had finished checking the remaining studies on the second floor, and Michelle was preparing to go to the third floor to look for clues. The group immediately headed up the stairs to the third floor.

Seeing the boy slump to the back of the line in a daze, Wen Shang whispered a reminder: "Keep up."

Mi Lan nodded immediately, but a dark glint flashed in her eyes after Wen Shang turned his head.
