Chapter 64 Level Monster
Chapter 64 Level Monster
The voice carried a hint of doubt, and in the blink of an eye, the human form transformed into a bolt of electricity, appearing before Tao Tao and the others with a "whoosh." He transformed into a tall man, dressed in a blue robe, with flowing hair and fluttering clothes, looking every bit the noble young master.
He stood in mid-air, his feet treading on blue electricity, his cold eyes fixed on Tao Tao, filled with murderous intent. However, because the little beast in Tao Tao's arms was resisting fiercely, a hint of reluctance arose in his cold eyes.
"Waaah..." The little beast let out a whimper, its eyes looking pitiful, as if it were pleading. Tao Tao understood animal language and was very surprised by what the little beast said. She looked down at the aggrieved little beast in her arms and then looked up at the man in front of her with a puzzled expression.
"Are you its father?"
The other party did not immediately answer the sleeve's question. Instead, he dissipated the surrounding electricity, and the danger vanished. Only then did he slowly speak, "You actually deceived my son and stole his inner core. I will make you pay the price!"
As he spoke, he suddenly unleashed his divine sense to attack Tao Tao, causing the little beast in Tao Tao's arms to frantically try to explain, but unfortunately, it was still unable to stop him.
Tao Tao felt a jolt of electricity rush into her forehead, and then she froze on the spot without even blinking.
Hidden in the shadows, Song Chaofeng was so anxious when he saw this that he stomped his feet. He wished he could rush over to help Tao Tao, but Bai Yan grabbed him and said abruptly, "A level ten demon beast, you'd be sending yourself to your death."
"A level ten demon beast!? You mean the person who appeared was a demon beast?" Song Chaofeng could hardly believe his eyes. A level ten demon beast was a legendary existence.
Bai Yan didn't seem to care about this at all, as if it were the most ordinary thing in the world. He said indifferently, "Level 10 demonic beasts are not easy to see, but they are not nonexistent. Isn't there one in the Immortal Spirit Valley of the Annihilation Frost Sect?"
"Grandmaster You Yunzi?" Song Chaofeng couldn't think of anyone else but him. After all, You Yunzi was famous and single-handedly supported the entire Immortal Spirit Valley. Otherwise, the Immortal Spirit Valley would not have survived until now.
Level 10 demonic beasts are among the strongest beings. Although there are even higher levels, no one knows for sure yet. Perhaps they have already ascended to immortality, or perhaps they are hiding in their own little worlds cultivating and rarely come out. This makes Song Chaofeng even more worried about Tao Tao. He said anxiously, "Then wouldn't Tao Tao be..."
"Don't worry, he won't die." Bai Yan said calmly, seemingly unconcerned about Tao Tao's life or death, which left Song Chaofeng feeling helpless. But what could he do? He was a senior, and Song Chaofeng couldn't afford to offend him. So he could only silently look towards Tao Tao, hoping that Tao Tao would be alright as Bai Yan had said.
"Hmm?" At this moment, the level ten demon beast in human form let out a surprised sound, then withdrew its divine sense and looked at Tao Tao in front of it with surprise, frowning slightly, "It's actually a transformed demon beast... I've never seen your true form before, what is your origin?"
He was very curious. He knew most of the demonic beasts, but why was Tao Tao's true form so unfamiliar? However, he could clearly sense the terrifying power that Tao Tao possessed, a power that surpassed all other demonic beasts.
"The real body?" Tao Tao tilted her head, looking puzzled. She didn't know anything about herself, such as her original body, cultivation level, or even her origins. If Song Chaofeng hadn't found her in the ice, she would probably still be sleeping soundly.
"You don't know? Don't try to fool me, or I'll crush your inner core right now." The man seemed to be getting angry, raising his hand to strangle Tao Tao's neck, making it impossible for her to breathe. The little beast cried out in distress, gesturing frantically with her two short paws, "Woo woo woo woo..."
"Let me release her? This little thing cannot be kept. I will take out her inner core and give it to you. You can use it to transform directly into human form."
"Waaah!"
It's unclear what words angered the little beast, but it broke free from Tao Tao's arms and rammed headfirst into the man in front of it. It used almost all its strength to force the man to take the hit, leaving him with no way to defend himself and unable to hurt it.
"Hiss..." The impact was quite severe. The man gasped, grabbed the small beast by the scruff of its neck and lifted it up, looking it over from head to toe. "You actually defied your father for its sake?"
"Waaah!" The little beast struggled as it explained to him, telling him the whole story. It had been playing around and had slipped away from Thunder Swamp, only to encounter several unscrupulous human cultivators who attacked it together. They captured it when it was off guard, tortured it with talismans, and wanted to sell it at a high price.
If Tao Tao hadn't fought so hard to buy it at the auction, it would probably have become a human cultivator's spirit pet by now, and signed a lifelong soul contract with him.
Upon hearing this, the man's handsome face was filled with rage. Lightning reappeared around him, radiating outwards incessantly. In an instant, the forest was filled with smoke and a strong smell of burning.
"How dare these mere humans plot against my son! Today I will annihilate them!"
"Waaaaah!"
“I know, I should thank this little one for saving you.”
As he spoke, the man withdrew his hand from Tao Tao's grasp, dissipated the lightning around him, and slowly walked towards Tao Tao. With a wave of his hand, he lifted Tao Tao up, and Tao Tao's discomfort disappeared.
"You saved my son, so I will naturally reward you. Judging from your cultivation level, you probably lack a magic weapon for protection. I recently personally forged an Ice Lightning Sword, which is perfectly suited to your attributes. I will give it to you today."
The man made a grabbing motion in the air, and an ice-blue longsword appeared in his hand. Lightning crackled around the sword, and one could vaguely sense the terrifying power it contained. It was clear that this longsword was no ordinary magical weapon.
The longsword flew from the man's hand to Tao Tao. Tao Tao took it with surprise and found that this magical weapon was indeed a good match for him, so he had no reason to refuse.
Seeing Tao Tao so happy to receive the longsword, the little beast also got excited and whispered something. Upon hearing this, the man shook his head helplessly, "You really are willing to give up anything. Alright, since you like her so much, I might as well do you a favor. Maybe one day we'll need her."
"Take these five Thunderclap Beads as well; they will surely come in handy in the future." With a wave of his long sleeve, the man sent five blue beads flying to Tao Tao. She reached out to touch them and immediately felt the terrifying crackling lightning inside.
This thing is definitely much more powerful than any Heavenly Thunder Curse; one strike could probably take the lives of several Foundation Establishment cultivators.
"Alright, I've given you everything you asked for. Now come back to Thunder Swamp with me and cultivate diligently. If you want to find her again, you'll need to become even stronger."
"Woo woo..." The little beast was clearly reluctant to leave. It broke free from the man's grasp and buried its head in Tao Tao's arms, rubbing its furry head against her. Tao Tao was also reluctant to leave, but after all, demon beasts were different from humans. Its cultivation was still shallow, and it would be very dangerous if it were left to wander outside.
So she patted the little beast's head and said with a smile, "We'll have a chance to meet again. You must cultivate diligently."
"Woo!" The little beast nodded heavily, and only reluctantly left Tao Tao after being urged by the man.
Lightning cracks reappeared behind the man. He glanced at Tao Tao and said calmly, "Little guy, until we meet again."
After saying that, he led the little beast into the crack. Instantly, the air distorted and thunder roared. Then the crack disappeared without a trace, as if it had never existed.
