Chapter 210 Karl (1)
Late at night, Professor Eleanor sat in her office piled high with papers—reports from students' recent tests. A warm lamp illuminated her work as she sighed, preparing to begin the seemingly endless task of grading.

She quickly skimmed through the reports submitted by Alice and Victor, the top students in the class:
“爱丽丝·索恩菲尔小组 | 公式原理:1 | 实际应用:1.5 | 创意:1 | 卷面:0.5 | 格式:1 | 总分:5”
“维克多·布莱克小组 | 公式原理:1 | 实际应用:1.5 | 创意:1 | 卷面:0.5 | 格式:1 | 总分:5”
She carefully observed their methods and took notes. When she began evaluating the second batch of reports, she couldn't help but feel admiration for the students' efforts.
She was somewhat surprised when she browsed to Irina's group. One student in the group was an expert in manipulating magic, and the other two students were also worth paying special attention to.
“伊琳娜·菲尼克斯小组 | 公式原理:1 | 实际应用:1.5 | 创意:1 | 卷面:0.5 | 格式:1 | 总分:5”
Just as she was rating the text, she suddenly noticed a passage.
"The purpose of this mana formula is to find the location it represents when they are combined. Individually, they have no practical meaning, but in fact, they hint at a part of a special map."
Professor Eleanor was captivated by this unexpected discovery, and a smile spread across her face.
"I didn't expect anyone to discover the hidden content of the second test."
The Phantom Land is the second test location, and students will go there in person.
"Interesting," she murmured to herself, then ticked a box next to the rating.
“伊琳娜·菲尼克斯小组 | 公式原理:1 | 实际应用:1.5 | 创意:1 | 卷面:0.5 | 格式:1 | 附加分:2│总分:7”
"Let me see what the principal will say."
Although she gave them bonus points, she wasn't very satisfied. No one in the college expected any students to discover this, so there was no explicit reward system.
Eleanor: Sir, may I have a moment of your time?
She sent a message.
......
"It's a new day again."
"Yes...we spent the whole weekend writing reports."
"Me too……"
As students complain about their weekend assignments, the college bells ring, marking the start of a new week.
Boom!
Just then, the classroom door opened and the instructor walked in.
"Huh?" Most of the students looked surprised. This instructor was a new face, and none of them had seen him before.
Good morning, students.
The instructor stood at the front of the classroom, a burly man whose demeanor exuded rich experience and seasoned combat skills. His gaze swept across the classroom, meeting the eyes of the curious students.
“My name is Captain Kaylan Thorne, a retired hunter,” he said in a deep, powerful voice, carrying authority and extensive knowledge. “I have faced creatures of darkness, conquered the wilderness, and fought battles that would make even the bravest tremble. Now, I am here to share my insights with you.”
These words left the students somewhat bewildered. Their expressions remained calm, but no one uttered a sound; the instructor exuded an extraordinary aura.
"Today, I will supervise your sparring, temporarily taking over Eleanor's usual role. Consider it a change of pace, a chance to experience something different." His eyes sparkled with enthusiasm, clearly showing his love for the course.
The students exchanged glances, the classroom filled with curiosity and anticipation as everyone wondered what had happened to Eleanor.
The sparring session, led by a retired hunter, was both exciting and a little nerve-wracking.
"Alright, let's get started."
Instructor Kailan began the lesson.
......
Where is your partner?
In the training room, Morse stood alone. Instructor Kellan saw that he was alone and came over.
Kaylan was a name he had never heard of in the game, so Morse didn't think much of it.
Things are very different now from the original story, so there's no need to overthink it.
“I don’t know,” Morse replied, looking at his serious face. The girl from last time wasn’t here this time; although she was a bit annoying and fierce, she was a good partner overall.
Judging from her serious attitude, she is a model student and rarely misses classes.
But she was a stranger to Morse, so he didn't care.
“Wait a moment,” Instructor Kellan said, staring intently at Morse. He briefly left the room, leaving Morse standing there, puzzled. A moment later, he returned with another student.
“Here, I’ve found you a partner. He also reported that his partner didn’t come this time.”
When Morse turned to look at the person in front of him, he couldn't help but stiffen.
"..."
This is someone I'm not inclined to have much interaction with, especially considering his personality.
“Hello,” the tall, burly man said, looking at Morse with a serious expression. “I am Karl.”
He is a member of the main character group and has a serious and earnest personality.
“Hello,” Morse replied.
Karna's imposing stature and disciplined demeanor set him apart; coming from a military family, his mannerisms and expressions reflected the discipline characteristic of soldiers.
'The Darian family...'
This is a family that holds a powerful position in the military, and many civil servants and prosecutors come from this family.
Carl's physique is impressive, muscular, showing that he has done a lot of physical training, and his eyes reveal a seriousness far beyond that of ordinary students; he is a tank-like character.
“Morse Scott,” Morse introduced himself, his tone calm.
“I know you.” Carl nodded.
"You know me?"
"Yes, Ethan mentioned it before."
What did he say?
He said you are completely different from what you look like.
How do I look?
“He seems weak, but he says you are the complete opposite.”
Carl admits that he knows Morse, and based on Ethan's description, Morse is curious about his reputation within the main group.
But he didn't dwell on it too much.
“I’m flattered that you say that,” Morse replied, easing the tense atmosphere.
“This is not a compliment,” Karl said seriously. “This is why I will take this sparring session seriously.”
Morse nodded. Karl was one of the strongest students in the academy, and he appreciated his attitude towards training.
Carl is a top 100 student in the academy, and the upcoming sparring session will be tough, but Morse sees it as a rare opportunity.
Karl took out his hammer and shield, while Morse drew his dagger and prepared his bow and arrows.
The weapon felt familiar in my hand. I assumed a defensive stance, ready to face the upcoming challenge.
"start."
Upon receiving the signal, Morse immediately began the battle with his bow, testing Karl's abilities.
Maintaining the calculated distance, the bowstring was taut, and arrows rained down on him.
Whoosh!
The arrows whistled through the air, each one incredibly accurate.
Karl activated his aura, revealing his defensive capabilities. A phantom shield surrounded him, easily deflecting the arrows while maintaining an expressionless face.
Despite Morse's relentless attacks, Karl did not go all out.
As Morse channeled his energy into the arrow, focusing intently on a single shot, the air thickened with tension as he drew the bowstring taut.
"Oh?"
Karl exclaimed in surprise, while lowering his body slightly and channeling more energy into the hammer. The hammer began to vibrate slightly, resonating outwards.
This was one of his defensive skills; he realized this attack could not be ignored.
Whoosh!
Morse released the bowstring, unleashing an arrow filled with Blue Moon energy.
boom!
The arrow streaked through the air, leaving a scorching trail. The explosive force upon impact generated flames, testing the limits of Karl's defensive aura.
"good."
Karl skillfully adjusted his defensive stance; the aura absorbed the impact of the flames, protecting him from harm.
His resolute stance remained unwavering; with a swing of his shield, he extinguished the flames.
'That's good. If it's him, then there shouldn't be any problem.'
Morse inwardly praised it.
"Should we start getting serious?"
Carl thought so too.
