234 THE RESCUE…GONE WRONG!!!

He jerked his head up. His eyes widened, and his voice cracked.

"You're here…finally…Sienna, get me out of here!" he cried.

The sound froze her. "Argent is… crying?" she asked herself.

In every memory she had, Argent had never shed a tear. It wasn't because of willpower or discipline… Argent was immune to emotion.

Yet here he was, trembling, sobbing, reaching for her.

Something wasn't right.

"Don't cry, Argent," Sienna whispered, shaken to her core.

One of their meta soldiers stepped forward and tore the door off its hinges with brute psychic force.

The moment the barrier was gone, Argent stumbled out and threw himself into Sienna's arms. He clung to her with desperate strength, burying his face against her shoulder.

She stiffened….Argent had never shown affection, never initiated a hug, never even tolerated one unless forced.

This was wrong.

This was terrifying.

But she pushed the questions aside and squeezed his arms gently.

"We're getting you out of here first," she said firmly.

Argent nodded, wiping his face with the back of his hand. Sienna noticed his fingers shaking.

They headed back up the cold stairwell, the others surrounding them in a protective circle. The mansion above groaned as the psychic assaults continued to ripple outward—

Guards were fleeing, collapsing, or losing their minds entirely as the siblings carved a path to escape.

They burst out into the courtyard, the cold night air rushing over them…only to freeze at the thunder of blades roaring overhead.

Dozens of helicopters cut through the sky like a swarm of metal insects. Ropes dropped. Soldiers in heavy black armor slid down in waves, forming a tightening ring around the courtyard.

"What…how did they get reinforcements here so fast?" Gamboge shouted, stepping back instinctively.

Isabelline lifted her chin, unimpressed. "Calm yourselves. No soldier can withstand my fear."She released her power…a pale, suffocating terror spilling outward in a wave.

But the soldiers kept advancing.

Their formation didn't waver.

Sienna's pulse spiked. This… was wrong. Humans couldn't resist their power.

"Something is not right," Mortuum muttered, backing up. "They're not afraid of us. They're not reacting at all."

And then, behind them, Argent laughed in a sharp, mocking tone.

"Of course they're not afraid of you," he said, his voice shifting. "They don't have a mind. They're androids."

The siblings turned toward him, shock rippling through them. It was futile to send an army of androids against a Quantum Mind.

"Argent… what are you talking about?" Celadon asked, his voice trembling.

But Sienna already knew. She had known from the moment Argent cried before her.

She didn't hesitate.

With a flick of her fingers, invisible force coiled around "Argent."

His body jerked upward, suspended in midair.

His face was warped under immense pressure. His mouth opened in a silent scream as his mind and throat were crushed simultaneously.

Snap.

He went limp.

"S–Sienna!" Isabelline gasped. "Why did you kill Argent?..."

"That wasn't Argent," Sienna said, cutting her off, her eyes burning with cold certainty. She didn't look away from the corpse as it sagged to the ground.

"What's happening here?"

"That Argent is a face changer… and this whole place… this entire farm… is a trap."

Behind them, the ring of android soldiers closed in. The ambush had begun.

-----

[Silver City- Atheris Corporation Headquarter]

The android soldiers pushed a massive cylindrical tank with reinforced steel and cables snaking along its sidesdown the corridor and into the central chamber of the building.

This was the headquarters of Atheris Corporation with polished marble floors, sterile lights, and a constant hum of machinery monitoring everything that mattered.

Inside the tank, suspended in the nightmare machine, was the Quantum Mind- Argent.

Nymeris folded her arms as she watched the tank being locked into place.

"Why did Godfather send him back here to the city? It's too risky. Wouldn't it be safer to leave him in the farm?"

Nymeris had died before, violently, at Black Halo's hands. And she's simply been reborn again.

Just like Umbros, Acyros, Thrynn, and Orya.

They were Dr. Revive's creations- cloned meta humans. They were manufactured to be disposable… and endlessly replaceable.

"Don't worry, he's trapped in the nightmare machine," Thrynn replied, adjusting the rings on his fingers. "He can't do anything to us now."

"That's reassuring," Orya said, though her fingers twitched with anxiety, "but I'm still not assured while he's near us. If he woke up—just imagine it—every android, every system, every weapon would belong to him in a second."

"Shh." Dr. Revive snapped sharply, glaring at them over his cracked glasses. "Do not let anyone hear you questioning Godfather's orders."

"How long must we stand guard over this Quantum Mind?" Orya muttered. "I have a bad feeling about this."

"Only until the ambush in the farm is over," Acyros replied. "Once we capture those bitches from Liberty City, we'll send the boy back to the farm where he belongs."

Umbros crossed his four arms uneasily. "Those psychics aren't easy to handle. I worry our forces aren't strong enough."

Dr. Revive scoffed. "Godfather planned this perfectly. He deployed two entire squadrons of android soldiers. Psychics can disable a battalion of humans, yes—but machines? Against androids, their powers are useless."

"How did Godfather even lure those psychic bitches to the farm?" Umbros asked, folding his arms.

"The subject sent out an SOS from the farm."

"I heard nothing could get out of that place. There is zero software, zero communication—it was a prison designed to cage the Quantum Mind and his powers completely…. how did he send out a message?" Orya added.

Dr. Revive's lips curled into a thin smile.

Nymeris frowned. "Doctor… don't grin like that. Tell us—how did he do it?"

Dr. Revive adjusted his glasses, enjoying the attention. "The communication software in the supply trucks going into the mansion."

"The trucks?" Acyros echoed.

"Yes. While the farm itself had no computers, no digital systems, not even a radio, the supply trucks that deliver food and materials did. The Quantum Mind managed to piggyback his SOS message through the trucks' onboard system."

Orya blinked, impressed despite herself. "That little snake… using the trucks' software. Who would've thought of that?"

Dr. Revive smiled again.

Nymeris narrowed her eyes. "You're smiling again. That means you're not telling us everything."

Revive shrugged lightly. "Fine. The trucks were part of Godfather's plan from the beginning. He allowed the Quantum Mind access to that computer. He placed the trucks at the farm on purpose, knowing the boy would eventually exploit their systems."

Thrynn tilted her head. "But why? Why would Godfather let the Quantum Mind send out a message at all?"
