Chapter 400 Making Wildness Submit to the Rules
Chapter 400 Making Wildness Submit to the Rules
"Let's go, it's time to meet the other wolf packs." Li Xiangyang clapped his hands and untied the ropes binding the wolf king.
The wolf king shook its body, but instead of running away, it looked at Li Xiangyang as if waiting for orders.
Li Xiangyang let out a clear whistle, and the wolf king immediately turned to look at his pack and let out a low howl.
A dozen or so wolves immediately gathered behind the wolf king, like a well-trained army.
"That's amazing!" Wang Ergou couldn't help but exclaim.
Li Xiangyang didn't respond. He looked up at the bright moon in the sky, then pointed into the distance: "Let's go over there and find the other wolf packs."
As Li Xiangyang gave the order, the wolf king led the pack in the direction he indicated.
Li Xiangyang, Wang Ergou, and Dalai followed behind on horseback, maintaining a safe distance.
“They really are leading the way!” Dalai exclaimed.
Li Xiangyang nodded: "Wolves have a far superior sense of smell and hearing than humans; they can detect scents and sounds that we cannot."
Along the way, the wolf pack would stop from time to time, and the alpha wolf would raise its head to sniff the air before adjusting its direction and continuing onward.
After traveling for about two hours, the wolf pack suddenly stopped.
The wolf king lay low on the ground, and the other wolves followed suit, as if they were lying in ambush.
Li Xiangyang immediately signaled Wang Ergou and Dalai to stop. The three of them dismounted and carefully observed the road ahead by the moonlight.
On the distant hillside, the silhouettes of another pack of wolves, about seven or eight in number, could be vaguely seen, tearing at something.
Li Xiangyang used binoculars to see the scene clearly—the pack of wolves were devouring an unfortunate wild goat.
“It’s another pack of wolves,” Li Xiangyang whispered. “Our pack outnumbers them by a factor of two, and they’re all seasoned veterans.”
Wang Ergou understood immediately: "Then, can we...?"
“That’s right.” Li Xiangyang nodded and gave the wolf king a short whistle.
The wolf king suddenly looked up, his gaze fixed on the wolf pack in the distance.
Immediately afterwards, Li Xiangyang made a forward-rushing gesture.
The wolf king let out a deafening howl and led his pack to charge like arrows at the unsuspecting wolves.
The wolves in the distance were clearly stunned by the sudden attack. Before they could react, Li Xiangyang's wolves had already rushed close.
A fierce battle unfolded under the moonlight.
Despite the fierce resistance of the opposing wolf pack, they were far inferior to Li Xiangyang's wolf pack in both numbers and combat skills.
In less than ten minutes, most of the wolves had been killed or wounded, and the remaining few, seeing that things were not going well, tucked their tails between their legs and fled in panic.
Li Xiangyang calmly observed the battlefield, then gave a whistle to order the wolf pack to stop their pursuit.
Surprisingly, the wolf pack actually stopped their pursuit, returned to the wolf king's side, and awaited further instructions.
The wolf king stood in the center of the bloody battlefield, howling to the sky, declaring victory.
In the distance, the fleeing wolves stopped, hesitating whether to submit to their new master.
Li Xiangyang made a gesture to the wolf king, who immediately understood and let out a different howl towards the survivors—no longer a threat, but a summons.
The wolves hesitated for a moment, then lowered their heads and slowly walked towards the wolf king, signifying their submission.
"They...they really surrendered?" Wang Ergou murmured incredulously.
Li Xiangyang nodded: "That's the nature of wolves. The weak submit to the strong; for survival, they are willing to give up freedom and dignity."
Dalai couldn't help but shudder: "You know these beasts too well, almost like...like one of them."
Li Xiangyang did not respond, but simply watched the scene unfold before him.
The wolf king is inspecting the new members of his pack, while the original pack is devouring the enemies who did not survive.
This scene is both savage and possesses a certain primal beauty, as if it takes us back thousands of years to a time when humans had not yet taken control of this land.
“Let’s go, tonight’s mission is complete.” Li Xiangyang turned and said, “Tomorrow, we’ll lead an even stronger pack of wolves to conquer more territory.”
The next morning, as the sun shone on the grassland, Li Xiangyang stepped out of his yurt and saw a pack of wolves lying quietly not far away, as if waiting for his command.
The wolf king stood at the very front, staring intently at him.
Wang Ergou and Dalai also came out, and when they saw this scene, they couldn't help but gasp.
“They…have been waiting here all along?” Dalley asked incredulously.
Li Xiangyang nodded: "They have accepted our rule. That's the power of taming."
Wang Ergou shook his head: "It's unbelievable. I never imagined I'd see wolves behaving like domestic dogs, obeying human commands."
"Don't be too happy yet," Li Xiangyang warned. "A wolf is always a wolf. Their obedience is only temporary. Once they sense our weakness, they could turn on us at any time."
Dalai said worriedly, "What should we do? We can't just keep watching them like this, can we?"
“Of course not,” Li Xiangyang pondered. “We need to further consolidate our control, making them truly understand and accept human rule.”
As he spoke, he walked toward the wolf pack, and the wolf king immediately came forward and crouched down.
Li Xiangyang reached out and stroked the wolf king's head. Surprisingly, the wolf king obediently accepted this closeness and even let out a satisfied whimper.
"Bayar, have any livestock in your village been seriously injured?" Li Xiangyang suddenly asked.
Bayar asked, puzzled, "What's wrong with some old and weak cattle and sheep?"
“Bring them here. Today we’re going to teach these wolves what forbidden zones are.” Li Xiangyang’s gaze was firm.
Soon after, Bayar brought back several old and weak sheep.
Li Xiangyang directed the sheep to be divided into two groups—one group with red ribbons tied to it, and the other group with blue ribbons tied to it.
"Red means hunting is prohibited, and blue means hunting is permitted," Li Xiangyang explained. "We need to make this rule clear to the wolf pack."
He then gave the order for the wolves to attack the sheep with the blue cloth stripes.
The wolves charged out like arrows, quickly tearing the blue sheep to pieces.
When Li Xiangyang stopped them from approaching the red sheep, any wolf that tried to disobey was punished by the wolf king.
The training lasted all day, and by evening, the wolf pack clearly understood that red meant no-go zones, and any attempt to cross those zones would be severely punished.
“Now, we’ll use this method to demarcate the herders’ cattle and sheep,” Li Xiangyang told Dalai. “As long as we tie red cloth strips to the cattle and sheep, the wolves won’t attack them.”
Dalai exclaimed in amazement, "This is truly...amazing! If it really succeeds, then our village's cattle and sheep will never have to worry about wolves again!"
“Of course,” Li Xiangyang explained. “And as long as it is properly controlled, as they continue to hunt other untrained wolf packs, the wolf problem on the entire grassland can eventually be fundamentally improved and even completely eliminated.”
