Broken Bond: Claimed by My Ex-Husband's Alpha Billionaire Uncle

Chapter 153: The Three of Us (END)

Chapter 153: The Three of Us (END)

Damon froze. His brows pulled together. "What do you mean?"

Charlotte smiled wider. "It’s three."

Damon’s entire body stiffened, like his brain stopped working. "Three?" he repeated slowly, almost afraid to understand.

Charlotte didn’t answer right away. Instead, she turned toward Haven.

Haven was still standing there, holding a small flower basket in her arms, watching them like she was watching her favorite movie.

Charlotte reached out and gently took the basket from Haven’s hands. She only smiled at the little girl. "Can I borrow this for a second?"

Haven nodded quickly. "Yes!"

Charlotte slipped her hand into the basket. Damon stared at her in confusion, his heartbeat suddenly loud in his ears.

After a moment, Charlotte pulled something out. It wasn’t flowers, but it was a folded piece of paper.

She held it carefully between her fingers, almost like it was something precious.

She opened the folded paper and then gave it to Damon. It was the ultrasound image of the fetus growing in her womb.

Her eyes softened as she said, "A week ago, I just found out that I was three weeks pregnant. The doctor told me that since my body has become stronger, I wouldn’t feel nausea or anything bad in the first trimester."

The only reason Charlotte suspected she was pregnant was because her period was late. She honestly didn’t expect much when she went to the doctor, but it turned out she had received such a precious gift.

"I’m sorry for not telling you sooner, but I wanted to give this to you as... our wedding gift." She smiled. "Congratulations, Damon. You’re going to be a father, and I hope it truly happens this time."

Damon didn’t say anything for a moment, and that made Charlotte feel a little anxious. "Da—"

Unexpectedly, Damon immediately pulled her into his embrace and gave her small kisses on top of her head. "I promise I will protect both of you properly this time," he whispered. "I really, really won’t let anything bad happen to you anymore."

Charlotte nodded with teary eyes. "I’ll also work hard to protect our baby. Damon, we finally have our own little family."

The guests also cried when they found out Charlotte was pregnant, especially her parents. After her last miscarriage, they had carried fear in their hearts for a long time, always worried that Charlotte might suffer again.

But now, seeing her standing at the altar in a wedding dress, seeing her smile while holding Damon’s hand, they finally felt something they hadn’t felt in years: peace.

Derek wiped his face quickly, trying to hide the tears. "Damn it," he muttered. "This... this is the happiest day of my life."

Vera, standing nearby, was already crying openly. She covered her mouth, unable to stop herself.

Even Louis looked emotional, though he tried to pretend he wasn’t. He cleared his throat again and again, blinking rapidly like the wind suddenly became "too strong."

Then he lifted his hands, regaining his composure. "Alright," Louis said with a grin, his voice warmer than before. "Now I will officially finish this ceremony before the groom kisses the bride again and forgets I exist."

The guests laughed through their tears.

Louis smiled and continued, loud and clear. "By the power given to me today, I now pronounce you... husband and wife." Louis’s smile widened. "You may kiss your bride."

Damon lowered his head, and he kissed Charlotte again, but gently, like he was kissing her with a promise.

A promise that he would protect her.

A promise that he would stay.

A promise that he would never let her fall into darkness again.

The guests cheered.

Haven jumped up and down, clapping wildly. "Auntie Charlotte is officially my aunt!"

The rescued children clapped too, smiling shyly, as if they didn’t fully understand, but still felt that something beautiful had happened.

Charlotte pulled away from the kiss with tears in her eyes, not because she was sad, but because she finally had everything she once thought she could never have: a loving husband, and a warm family.

Time passed.

Charlotte’s life did become busy, just like she had predicted. But it wasn’t the painful kind of busy. It was the kind of busy that gave meaning.

The Luna Light Foundation continued to grow, spreading across cities, reaching more women, offering shelter, protection, therapy, and legal help.

It became the safe place Charlotte once needed, but never had. And now, she made sure other women wouldn’t have to suffer alone.

Months later, on a quiet rainy evening in Northbridge City, Charlotte held Damon’s hand tightly as she lay on a hospital bed.

Her forehead was damp with sweat, and her breathing was uneven, but her eyes were strong because she wasn’t alone.

Damon stayed beside her the entire time, his eyes red, his fingers trembling as he kissed her knuckles again and again. "You’re doing great," he whispered, voice breaking. "You’re so strong... you’re so strong, Charlotte."

After hours of pain and effort, a loud cry finally filled the room.

Charlotte’s eyes widened, stunned, before tears streamed down her face. Meanwhile, Damon froze completely.

The nurse smiled warmly as she held the newborn carefully. "Congratulations," the nurse said. "It’s a healthy baby boy."

Charlotte couldn’t breathe for a second, while Damon couldn’t speak at all. They both stared like they were looking at a miracle.

The nurse gently placed the baby into Charlotte’s arms. He was so small, so warm, and so real.

Charlotte’s hands trembled as she held him. Her tears fell onto his soft cheeks.

"He’s..." she whispered. "He’s here..."

Damon slowly crouched beside the bed, his hands shaking as he touched the baby’s tiny fingers.

Charlotte said again, "My baby is finally here, and he looks just like you, Damon." She smiled when her baby opened his eyelids, revealing his gray eyes.

After spending so many years thinking she would never be able to become a mother, she had finally made it come true. And in truth, her son was born at the perfect time because he would have a good father instead of a jerk.

"We should name him," she whispered.

Damon nodded. "Anything you want."

Charlotte took a deep breath. Then she smiled softly and said, "Eden." She added, "Eden Sullivan."

Damon repeated the name quietly, as if tasting it like a prayer. "Eden Sullivan," he whispered again. "That’s beautiful."

Eden blinked slowly, then opened his eyes wider, as if he was trying to recognize the world he had just entered.

Damon leaned closer, his hands trembling as he carefully touched Eden’s cheek with his fingertips.

"He’s... perfect," Damon breathed out.

Charlotte nodded with a tearful smile. "He really is."

For a moment, neither of them spoke. There were no words big enough for a moment like this.

There was only Damon’s soft breathing, only Eden’s tiny sounds, only Charlotte’s trembling smile, and peace.

A peace Charlotte had once thought she would never have.

Damon kissed Charlotte’s forehead softly, then pressed another kiss onto Eden’s head.

His voice broke when he whispered, "Thank you... for coming back to me."

Charlotte’s eyes became watery again. "I’m the one who should say that," she whispered. "You waited for me."

Damon swallowed hard, then nodded. "I would wait," he said. "A thousand times over."

"I promise," he whispered, voice firm even through tears, "I’ll be a good father."

Charlotte’s smile softened. "You already are," she whispered back.

In the months that followed, Eden filled their home with warmth, as well as chaotic late-night cries, tiny laughs, and sleepy cuddles on rainy mornings.

Charlotte took a few months’ break from the entertainment world, and even when she was pregnant with Eden, she only accepted advertising offers while looking for a new movie script that caught her attention.

Meanwhile, Damon was also busy with his company and Crimson Pack’s matters. Even so, he always made time to be present for his son.

Every time he came home, he would take Eden from Charlotte, letting her rest. However, today, he looked extremely tired after having a meeting with the Nocturnal Order.

He even accidentally fell asleep in the rocking chair with the sleeping Eden in his arms.

Charlotte giggled and walked toward him. She gently stroked his cheeks and whispered, "Damon... if you want to sleep, let’s go to our bedroom. Eden can sleep with us as well."

Damon was startled because he didn’t expect that he had accidentally fallen asleep. He almost dropped Eden, but fortunately, Charlotte caught him.

"I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to fall asleep," he said.

"That’s alright." Charlotte bent down, then kissed his cheek and lips repeatedly. "My handsome husband has been working so hard these days. You deserve some rest too."

Damon’s eyes softened as he looked at her, guilt and exhaustion mixing in his expression. "I hate that you have to see me like this," he admitted quietly. His arms tightened around Eden.

Charlotte smiled, brushing his hair back. "I’d rather see you tired than not see you at all," she teased gently. "Come on. Let me take Eden."

Damon hesitated for a second, then slowly handed Eden to her. The baby let out a tiny sleepy sound, his face scrunching for a moment, but the moment Charlotte hugged him close, Eden relaxed again, warm and calm against her chest.

Damon stood up and exhaled deeply, rubbing his face. Charlotte walked beside him, still holding Eden carefully. "Bedroom," she reminded him softly, as if talking to someone who might collapse at any second.

He chuckled under his breath. "Yes, ma’am."

When they finally reached the bedroom, Charlotte laid Eden down in his crib, then lay down on the bed with Damon. When she saw his tired face, she opened her arms. "Alright, come here."

Damon immediately moved closer to her, burying his face in her warm embrace. The strong Alpha who usually made everyone tremble instantly turned into a pathetic puppy in front of his wife.

Charlotte ran her fingers through his hair, slow and soothing. "There, there, you can rest now.

Damon didn’t say anything, but slowly, his breathing became steady. Faintly, Charlotte could hear the sound of rain falling outside, but in that quiet room, she felt as if she was inside a safe cocoon with her husband in her arms and her son nearby.

She couldn’t help but smile a little because she found it funny how she once thought she would never be able to have this kind of life.

And yet... she had managed to achieve all of it.

At that moment, she felt glad that she hadn’t given up on her life back then. She was happy that she kept trying to crawl out of the darkness, so the monster wouldn’t catch her.

She then rested her cheek on Damon’s head and slowly closed her eyes.

If this was the life she had fought so hard to reach, then she would cherish every second of it.

And that night, with the rain outside and her little family safe inside, Charlotte finally fell asleep too with a warm feeling in her heart.

Forever, she would cherish her little family with her whole heart.

The end.
