Chapter 995 - 993: Beating Him Up (Part 2)
What the fuck!
The Soul Devourer Master didn’t react at all, completely dumbfounded.
How the hell did so much happen in just a split second, what the hell is going on!
How did a Spirit Binding Net suddenly appear on his body, and it was even locked down by Lightning Shackles.
This made the originally emotionless Soul Devourer Master suddenly explode with feelings he’d never had before. Terror, unease, helplessness... This was something the Soul Devourer Master had never anticipated; in this moment he was completely thrown off by what was happening in front of him.
In front of him, Igor was lying there panting heavily, but his face was full of smiles. He looked ridiculously happy, so happy that he didn’t even care that his own shell was starting to crack apart.
"What are you laughing at?" The Soul Devourer Master asked this on instinct; in his eyes, this scene just didn’t make sense.
"Nothing. Everything’s fine. I’m happy." Igor said between gasps.
The Soul Devourer Master tried to release his Energy Light Balls, but after two or three attempts nothing came out. Obviously, this Spirit Binding Net was restricting him. Right now the Soul Devourer Master was basically just a shell. He knew he had to get this Spirit Binding Net off his body before he could release Energy. He was, of course, very familiar with this Spirit Binding Net, but when he tried to undo it with the usual methods, he found it didn’t work. Taking a closer look, he realized there was a layer of Lightning Shackles wrapped around the outside of the Spirit Binding Net...
This whole series of bindings made it impossible for him to release any Energy...
So this is why this Agent of Destruction is so damn happy right now?
What the hell is going on!
The Soul Devourer Master looked at Igor. Now he could only get answers from this boy.
"You must want to know why, right?" Igor said, panting, enunciating each word.
"Why has your consciousness become so ruined, why can’t you even maintain your shell anymore?" The Soul Devourer Master was gradually realizing there were more and more unbelievable things going on.
"This is the result of my gamble. And now, I’ve won." Igor looked at the Resistors who were gradually closing in, and smiled in satisfaction.
"What did you win?" The Soul Devourer Master didn’t quite get it.
"You can’t release your Energy now. Your most uncounterable attack no longer exists. Here, you can’t do anything anymore."
Hiss— The Soul Devourer Master sucked in a breath of cold air; only now did he realize how serious this was. He no longer had any way to attack.
"But you can’t attack either, can you?" The Soul Devourer Master was still somewhat relieved; Igor couldn’t even maintain his shell, so it was impossible for him to launch any effective attack.
"Yeah, I can’t. But Sol can. And didn’t Sol already tell you, in this Border Realm, you’ve got more than one enemy!"
"Them? I’m immune to Energy now too." The Soul Devourer Master scoffed, thinking the Resistors had no way to mount any effective attack on him.
"You think everyone here is like you and doesn’t know Physique Technique?" Igor grinned triumphantly, that smile carrying a deeper meaning.
The Soul Devourer Master looked at the Resistors closing in one by one, each expressionless, fists clenched tight...
"They..." For the first time, the Soul Devourer Master felt unprecedented fear. This emotion was completely new to him.
"Everyone, go wild!" Igor suddenly raised his voice and shouted at the Resistors.
As soon as he said that, all the Resistors swarmed forward and started a group beatdown on the Soul Devourer Master.
Fists pounded down on the Soul Devourer Master like a rainstorm; this was the first time he’d ever been beaten up by so many people at once.
"Beat the crap out of him!" Igor fanned the flames from the side.
The fear the Soul Devourer Master had inflicted on the Resistors over the years was going to be paid back in full at this moment.
Only now did the Soul Devourer Master truly understand what Igor meant earlier by winning the gamble. No wonder he could still be grinning ear to ear even with his shell in tatters.
"You... how exactly did you do it!" The last thing the battered Soul Devourer Master managed to shout clearly enough for Igor to hear was this sentence; after that, with punches and kicks raining down on him, anything he tried to say was completely drowned out.
Igor barely propped himself up. He could no longer make any continuous movements. This gamble had made him endure a massive Energy Attack. Fortunately, at that moment the Soul Devourer Master had been condensing a new shell, so most of the Energy had gone into forming the shell, and the defensive shield hadn’t reached its strongest state. That gave Igor an opening.
Igor had spent a long time figuring out the rhythm, syncing his own adaptation to the Spirit Binding Net’s rhythm with the Soul Devourer Master’s shell-switching rhythm. When those rhythms overlapped, Igor decisively chose Martial Arts to boost his attack efficiency, which cut the Soul Devourer Master’s shell-changing time in half. In contrast, his cooldown time for Energy under the Spirit Binding Net was still proceeding as usual. In other words, he still had half his stamina left at that moment to beat the crap out of the Soul Devourer Master.
In the end, he chose to charge at the Soul Devourer Master, and at great risk tore the Spirit Binding Net off his own body and threw it over the Soul Devourer Master...
That moment was insanely fast; the Soul Devourer Master had no idea what had happened, because most of his consciousness was focused on condensing his new shell. That little shift in Physique Technique attacks hadn’t caught his attention. And that tiny lapse led to his current state—unable to release any Energy at all.
Igor was also deeply grateful that Sol trusted him this much, and this kind of tacit understanding made him think of that other Sol. He wondered how that Sol was doing now.
If it hadn’t been for Tobin Sol’s timely Lightning Shackles, there was no way they could have trapped the Soul Devourer Master so smoothly.
They also had to thank that Devoured skeleton knight; it was he who brought the Spirit Binding Net to the Resistors. Back then Igor had just thought this thing was a bit special—he never expected it would play such a crucial role at a moment like this.
Looking at everything now, Igor felt a deep peace in his heart. Finally, he could finally have a proper talk with Sol...
The Soul Devourer Master’s rule over the Border Realm was about to end in this mass beating. In the end, this guy who was powerful enough to achieve Infinite Resurrection did not fall by his own hand. The one who defeated him wasn’t him himself, but everyone in this Border Realm who stood against him.
The hatred these people held for him was all embodied in their fists and feet. All that hatred, all that rage, was fed back to the Soul Devourer Master bit by bit.
The Soul Devourer Master, who had once abandoned all emotion, recovered every last feeling in this brief instant. His former power vanished, and humiliation came crashing down one wave after another, yet he had no reinforcements at all...
So what if you’re strong? In the end, don’t you still face this kind of ending alone?
