Chapter 149 Go somewhere
Chapter 149 Go somewhere
Behind him, the man followed.
A cold and magnetic voice fell into her ears, as if it had already seen through her thoughts.
"Not going in?"
"No!" she blurted out.
Xiao Cheng snorted a laugh, took a step forward, tapped the code with his fingertips, and pushed the door open. But he didn't go in. Instead, he leaned sideways, his hands in his pockets, against the door, squinting at her.
After a few seconds of stalemate, Xiao Cheng remained expressionless. He raised his chin towards Chu He and said, "Why don't you leave? Go... I'll watch you go!"
No matter how you look at it, it seems like he did this on purpose.
Chu He took a few tentative steps back. "You said it."
Then he turned around and tried to leave.
As expected, Xiao Cheng suddenly strode forward and grabbed Chu He's arm, his voice teasing but threatening.
"You really dare to leave."
She knew he wasn't that kind. Chu He rolled her eyes and said nothing.
Xiao Cheng took her hand and walked out without saying anything.
Chu He was afraid that he would really do something ridiculous.
His voice softened. "It's broad daylight, can you please not do anything rash?"
"Take you somewhere!"
His voice was cold, but his grip relaxed slightly.
“Hey…where are you going?…”
He dragged her into the car as if he was dragging a dog.
After about half an hour, Xiao Cheng drove the car to an alley in the old city.
The silver supercar looked particularly out of place at the entrance of the narrow alley. Passersby couldn't help but glance at them. Compared to the sports car, the handsome man and beautiful woman were more eye-catching.
After parking the car, Xiao Cheng opened the door, got out first, walked around the front of the car, and for once in a rare gentlemanly moment, opened the door for Chu He.
They got off the car with doubts and walked one in front and the other behind.
The surrounding buildings are a bit old, and it has just rained and the air is very humid. There is a unique smell in the air, a mixture of the fragrance of soil and the traces of time.
"What are you doing here? Why don't you say something?"
I feel weird today, like I’m possessed!
Xiao Cheng was walking in front, completely ignoring her.
There are mostly ancient buildings on both sides of the alley, with words of historical protection written on the doorplates. Some of the blue brick walls are covered with green vines, which creates a romantic atmosphere and mood.
The cobblestone road was bumpy, and Chu He's high heels found it difficult to walk on it, so she had to slow down.
In a short while, the distance between the two widened to five or six meters.
"Why are you walking so fast? Are you in a hurry to be reincarnated?"
Her voice was soft, but loud enough for Xiao Cheng to hear.
He stopped and looked back at her with a smirk in his eyes.
Chu He glared at him and quickened her pace to catch up.
When she came closer, he suddenly stretched out his hand.
Chu He looked up and glanced at him, but saw that his gaze had turned to the front, with an elusive smile on the corner of his mouth.
"No need! I can walk by myself!"
As she said this, she walked forward stubbornly in her high heels.
Xiao Cheng chuckled, withdrew his hand, slowed down his pace and followed her.
He led Chu He into an inconspicuous alley and arrived in front of a small shop. The shop was a bit shabby, with wooden doors and windows that looked a bit old, and the bookshelves at the door were filled with old books.
"Bookstore? What are you doing here?" Chu He asked in confusion.
"Go in and have a look."
"No talk, no entry!"
"Let me get you to know me again. Not interested? Then don't come in."
Xiao Cheng chuckled, lowering his eyes to glance at her. Then, with his hands in his pockets, he walked through the door with his long legs and a bent waist. The old wooden door was indeed a bit too short for his height.
Chu He was left standing there staring blankly.
Renew? What does that mean?
It’s tiring to get to know someone all over again, especially if it’s someone you’re not on the same wavelength with. It’s even more tiring!
Oh, forget it, forget it, I’m already here.
Chu He rolled her eyes and followed him in.
