Genshin Impact: The Road to Reversal

Chapter 591 Ready

Chapter 591 Ready

With the plan set, the next step is to prepare separately.

Peruvieri and Clévy began selecting elite knights to participate in the feint attack, while also arranging for manpower to set up the necessary props to make the "main attack" look real enough.

Zhao Heng, Zi Xuan, and Meng Nai began organizing their equipment, studying the terrain map of their assigned array points, and familiarizing themselves with the team members they were leading. Fu Ning Na was no exception; although slightly nervous, her eyes had become focused.

Upon receiving the order, Sugnir merely grinned; Sandoni, on the other hand, quickly assembled a group of elite guards, carrying a large amount of engineering equipment and detection devices.

Soon, many parts of the city began to bustle with activity.

Having prepared everything, Mo Yan and Kailin arrived at the meeting point ahead of time.

"I can't believe it. Just a few days ago we were worried about not being able to help with the glacier, and today this accident happened so suddenly. Hey, do you think that guy was behind the trial collapse?" Karin said, bending over with her hands behind her back, and winked at Mo Yan.

Upon hearing this, Mo Yan shrugged: "Who knows? But it's best not to discuss this matter right now."

As he spoke, he looked at the troops that were gradually gathering around him.

"Oh, that's true." She scratched her head.

The two entered an inn, intending to sit down and wait quietly, when suddenly a familiar face caught their attention.

At a table not far away sat a burly man, his upper body half-naked, his skin red and adorned with numerous flame tattoos. His wild red hair blazed like a burning flame. He was tearing into a roasted, charred animal leg, his unrestrained eating drawing attention.

"Caesar the Dragon? My God, he actually came." Karin's eyes widened.

Mo Yan swallowed hard, then mustered his courage and walked toward the burly man's dining table.

"Hello...would it be convenient to share a table?"

"Hmm?" Caesar held the beast leg in both hands, glanced at the other's rather childish face, and swallowed what was in his mouth. "Well, who do we have here? It's just a little kid. What, aren't you afraid of me?"

Mo Yan gave a cold smile and subconsciously glanced at the crowd watching them with fear: "Heh, who doesn't know the name of the Six Evil Saint Demon Dragon Caesar? Besides, this is a glacier. You shouldn't be making things difficult for yourself, should you?"

Caesar paused for a moment, then burst into deafening laughter: "Hahahaha! Interesting! Little fellow, you've got some nerve!"

He stood up and patted Mo Yan's shoulder hard, so hard that Mo Yan stumbled.

"Alright! Just for that, I'll let you all eat at this table!" He waved his hand and pointed to the empty seat opposite him. "Sit down! Let's eat together! This roasted leg is pretty good!"

Mo Yan and Kailin exchanged a glance and sat down as instructed.

"Thank you, but we have things to do later, so it's not wise to indulge in food," Mo Yan said with a smile.

"Really? That's a real pity. To be honest, after sleeping for nearly a hundred years, it's been a long time since I've tasted such authentic roasted animal leg."

Caesar tore off another large piece of meat and stuffed it into his mouth. Oil dripped down the corners of his mouth, but he didn't care. He just wiped his mouth and continued.

"It smells so good! It's even better than the grilled lava beasts I ate back in the volcanic region. And you know what? These chefs have really improved their skills over the past few hundred years. The last time I had such a feast was during the Sangyang Rebellion. I haven't had such a satisfying meal since we wiped out those guys and drove them back to the island."

As he spoke, he glanced at the shopkeepers and diners beside him, who were filled with fear of facing their own situation.

"By the way, kid, you seem to know us quite well. What, have we met before?"

Mo Yan chuckled lightly: "I wouldn't say we know each other, but we have met, though it was only one-sided."

"Oh? One-sided?" Caesar tilted his head.

Mo Yan then recounted the events leading up to his and his companions' encounter with Diablo, including their journey back in time and Diablo's subsequent house arrest.

Upon hearing this, Caesar couldn't help but burst into laughter: "Hahahaha! What? It's Diablo, that guy. He's still the same as ever. Being held captive by Rednos? I never thought he'd get his comeuppance."

He slammed his hand on the table, making the cups and plates clang, which caused the diners in the distance to flinch again.

"But then again, that guy Shadow Tyrant asked me to help him set up the formation, but he ended up handing over all the initial tasks to you juniors. I really envy you guys." Caesar put down the meat leg in his hand, wiped his hands casually, and crossed his arms before saying, "But then again, I came here to oversee the rear in case of any unforeseen circumstances."

"Huh? With those two guys there, do we really need you to oversee things?" Karin couldn't help but ask.

"Hmph, of course, you also know that the Six Evil Saints, the Seven Stars, and the Eight Guardians are on par. We can't all rush up at once, that would be too beneath us."

Caesar picked up the beer on the table and gulped down a large mouthful. The beer dripped down his neck and onto his tattooed chest, but he didn't seem to care.

"Ha~ And do you really think that the Fallen Gods Guild's purpose is only this?" He wiped the wine stains from the corner of his mouth.

Mo Yan and Kailin exchanged a glance: "What do you mean by that?"

“Because of this place,” Caesar said, pointing down, “those guys are called… the Fallen Gods Guild, right? Their schemes are not so simple. In the glacier, many extraordinary things were buried in the past, any one of which can be considered a calamity, especially the Abyss, which seals two calamities from the same era as the World-Destroying Ice Dragon. One is the first nightmare of another dimension, and the other is a fire demon born from stealing fire. If either of them escapes, it will be enough to plunge the entire Teyvat into catastrophe again.”

"The Fallen Gods' Guild was able to pinpoint the core of the formation precisely, and even utilize the remains of the Ice Dragon, which shows that they have an extremely deep understanding of the secrets of the glacier. What they are doing now may just be a test, a preparation for releasing those things."

Upon hearing this, Mo Yan and Kailin both gasped. Just as they were about to ask, the sound of gathering outside the door rang out.

"Looks like it's time." Caesar chuckled. "Go on, little ones, don't underestimate your opponents on the battlefield."

"Yes, thank you, Mr. Caesar." Mo Yan stood up and nodded, then left the inn with Kailin.

"Hmph, what are you being so polite about? I should be thanking you. After all, no one ever takes the initiative to talk to me." With that, he picked up the animal leg again and began to eat heartily. "Tsk, the flavor is still too bland."

……

Meanwhile, in a deserted corner, a dark shadow swept past and stopped.

Rednos stepped out of the shadows and looked around.

“Come out, no one’s with you,” he said softly.

The next second, a gap was torn open in front of him, and Diablo slowly stepped out of the torn space, his scarlet eyes standing out in the shadows.

"Finally here, my Shadow Lord, you've kept me waiting for so long." He opened his arms, looking expectant, with his signature playful yet dangerous smile on his lips.

"Heh, it takes some effort to shake that guy off." Rednos leaned lazily against the rock wall behind him, a smile playing on his lips as always.

"Now, can you grant me my freedom as promised?" Diablo said. "You know, I went to great lengths to enter the trial and create the 'accident' of freezing and elemental disorder inside so that this first world ruler wouldn't find out."

After hearing this, Rednos crossed his arms and said, "Of course I know that. It's a pity that the guy still found out in the end."

"Really? I was very careful. Or did you tell him this on purpose so you wouldn't break your promise?" Diablo asked in surprise.

“How could that be? Do I look like that kind of person?” Rednos said, spreading his hands. “But don’t be too disappointed. If you want to redeem yourself, there’s still a chance.”

"Oh? Tell me about it."

“Rekos said there are eight array eyes in total, which is exactly the same as your initial assessment. We can now send out teams to cover seven targets. But there is still one array eye that has not yet been assigned personnel,” Redos said.

"So, you want me to handle that place?"

“Not bad.” Rednos chuckled. “If you can finish this quickly, I might consider giving you your freedom.”

Upon hearing this, Diablo shook his head: "Sigh, Lord Shadow King really knows how to order people around. Alright, I'll do as you say."

He shrugged and then stepped back into the crevice.
