Chapter 763 The Eagle Society
Chapter 763 The Eagle Society
Chapter 763 The Eagle Society
Calida Military Academy, bar.
It's 7:30 in Caleda time. The sunset has already painted half the sky red. Fu Qinghai walks up the mountainside along the winding path through the dense forest. The bar is located not far away, with colorful neon lights flashing brightly in the dark woods.
Calida Military Academy has a bar, or perhaps a soldiers' club? Fu Qinghai wasn't sure how they defined the building. But for a school that at its peak had 150,000 students and faculty, and considering the complete lack of entertainment facilities on the planet, having a bar wasn't surprising.
This was also Fu Qinghai's first time here.
The bar's main entrance slid quietly open to both sides.
Fu Qinghai raised his eyes and glanced inside the bar.
There's no noisy dance floor, dazzling lights, or upbeat music here. Booths, a bar, and high tables create a quiet, dimly lit, and private space, with only a small lamp on each table. In the center of the bar is a small round stage, where all the light is focused on the band playing soothing and melodious jazz. The air is filled with the faint aromas of aged wine, cigarettes, and old wood.
Similar to a blues bar or a private club.
Fu Qinghai stepped into the bar and casually found an empty booth to sit down. Yevander and the others hadn't arrived yet, so Fu Qinghai wasn't in a hurry to order drinks. Instead, he glanced around at the other customers. Despite the dim lighting, his still-sharp vision allowed him to see every detail of the bar's interior.
Interestingly, almost all the guests, whether students or faculty, had only one glass of wine in front of them, and they drank very slowly, sipping their drinks in hushed tones while conversing in hushed tones. Fu Qinghai immediately guessed the reason—the high gravity environment of Calida Star would also put a considerable burden on the cardiovascular system. Getting drunk and missing training was a minor issue; excessive drinking could even lead to sudden death, preventing them from seeing the sun the next day.
Fu Qinghai had barely sat down for a minute when the bar's main entrance opened again, and the young black man appeared outside, followed by his two companions from his desert trek.
"Hey, Aoyama!"
When Yevander saw Fu Qinghai, he waved and greeted him before leading his two companions to sit down in a booth.
Fu Qinghai tapped the table to summon the waiter:
"A glass of Mellenzane gin."
After speaking, he turned to look at Yevander and his two companions:
"what about you?"
"Uh, I'll just have a glass of salted soda."
Yevander hesitated for a moment before speaking.
"A chilled blue milkshake, please."
The chubby little boy with red hair was shy and genuine.
"Just like him."
The girl with dreadlocks pointed at Fu Qinghai and said.
"Are you serious? Do you know how strong the alcohol content of Mellenzain gin is? It's a kind of strong liquor that the Devalon people drink. Be careful not to get drunk tonight and not be able to get up for training tomorrow morning."
Yevander leaned closer and whispered a warning.
"Then why is he allowed to drink?"
"That's what the girl with dreadlocks said in return."
"He can carry three people and break the Caleda Military Academy's fastest desert trekking record. Can you do it too?"
The chubby red-haired boy suddenly interjected.
"Shut up and drink your milkshake!"
The girl glared at the chubby red-haired boy.
The waiter took the menu and left.
Yevander looked pained and distressed.
The "gold" in the name of Mellenzane Gin is "Gold" not "Jin," and this spirit is quite expensive.
"It's okay, drink as much as you want, this meal is on me."
Fu Qinghai patted him on the shoulder and said.
"Oh no, no, that won't do."
Yevander immediately shook his head and waved his hand in refusal:
"We agreed to invite you together before we came, to thank you for dragging the three of us out of that damn desert. If we hadn't met you, we probably would have died in there."
"It's no big deal. Didn't we agree to help each other before we enrolled? Stop talking nonsense. I'll treat you to this drink first, and you can treat me back next time."
Fu Qinghai said in an unquestionable tone.
It wasn't that he was particularly generous; although he didn't treat Star Wars credits in the canon universe as money, his real purpose in insisting on treating them was to get the three of them to drink.
Drinking milkshakes and soda is not allowed.
The three of them have to drink today.
"Alright alright."
Yevander reluctantly compromised.
"Oh right, I forgot to introduce you."
Yevander suddenly remembered something and slapped his forehead.
"This is Hussein, and this is Roxy. They are both my classmates, but we are not in the same major. We are both in the Department of Architectural Engineering, and Roxy is in the Department of Electrical Engineering."
Yevander introduced them to Fu Qinghai.
He then turned to two classmates and said:
“This is my eldest brother, Aoyama.”
Good lad, you're getting it.
Fu Qinghai secretly affirmed in his heart:
To establish a leadership position so quickly.
Fu Qinghai had long seen through Yevander's social skills. He was enthusiastic yet shrewd, sincere yet cunning. In less than a week since enrolling, he had already gathered a small group of three. It was indeed a waste of his talents to have someone like him build an imperial military base.
Hussein was a chubby little boy with red hair and squinty eyes, whose appearance was quite comical. He nodded with a smile.
Roxie is a black-haired white girl with clear and defined facial features. Her jawline is distinct, giving her a strong and heroic look. Her hair is braided into multiple cornrow-style dreadlocks, which adds a touch of rebelliousness to her heroic appearance, making her look like a UFC female boxer.
Fu Qinghai looked at Luo Kexi.
Roxie was also looking at him.
She had been staring at him ever since she walked in.
This girl looks a lot like a certain celebrity...
Fu Qinghai searched through his memory bank.
Ruby Los, that's right.
Fu Qinghai remembered.
She's the kind of girl who's a cool tomboy.
"Roxy Elodie Fassbinder".
The girl with dreadlocks proactively extended her palm and said.
"Green Mountain."
Fu Qinghai reached out and shook her hand.
"No surname or middle name?"
Roxie tilted his head and asked in confusion.
"That's how our customs are."
After Fu Qinghai finished speaking, he prepared to withdraw his hand.
But to his surprise, Roxie grabbed his hand.
"Although I don't really like that method..."
Roxie stared at Fu Qinghai and said, word by word:
"But thank you for saving me."
Yevander and Hussein exchanged a quick glance.
Fu Qinghai raised his eyebrows slightly.
Is this an overbearing expression of gratitude?
"Ok."
Fu Qinghai smiled and withdrew his hand.
The waiter brought over the plate.
……
After the spirits and drinks were served, the four of them began to clink glasses and the atmosphere gradually became lively and enthusiastic. Yevand was good at making jokes to liven up the atmosphere, Hussein didn't talk much but was also very easygoing, and Roxie's attention seemed to be on Fu Qinghai, while Fu Qinghai frequently raised his glass to urge everyone to drink.
Two glasses of strong liquor and two glasses of soft drinks were quickly emptied.
Fu Qinghai then ordered another dozen beers from the waiter.
The four military academy freshmen chatted about their hometowns, military academy life, and future development... The high gravity environment seemed to accelerate the absorption of alcohol, and after a few beers, the three gradually became slightly tipsy, and the topics of conversation gradually changed from daily life to complaints, rants and grievances.
Yevander downed two large glasses of beer in a row, kept burping, and became more talkative.
"You know what? I took the entrance exam for the Corellia sector, and I ranked fifth in the entire sector... Then, after I enrolled, I suddenly discovered... hiccup!"
"Guess what? My fellow townsmen, those idiots who couldn't even understand the exam questions, the sons of big business owners and bureaucrats, were actually my classmates at military academy!"
The young Black man said, somewhat excitedly:
"My parents worked on the assembly line at Nubia Interstellar Drive, working hard to save up enough tuition fees for me. I studied hard... hiccup! I got into the Imperial Military Academy so that those guys wouldn't keep stepping on my head. But in the end, the end point of my efforts was just their starting point!"
"Public education should ensure fairness."
Fu Qinghai nodded in agreement.
Although he also got in through connections.
Fu Qinghai was actually aware of this problem. When he was taking the wilderness survival course, he clearly felt that some of his classmates' physical and mental qualities did not even meet the standard of an ordinary recruit. They were just pampered young masters, like the curly-haired, chest-haired boy he had humiliated.
Yevander's complaints may seem a bit like those of a cynical youth, but his anger is not just baseless cynicism.
The right to education is not inherently equal. In reality, almost all universities in China are public institutions funded by the state, essentially using taxpayers' money to run them. Therefore, it is natural to ensure equal educational opportunities, even if it is only in a relatively fair sense, such as the college entrance examination.
Many prestigious private universities in the United States are primarily funded by trustees and alumni donations. In theory, they can recruit students however they want without any obligation to ensure fairness. However, once these private universities receive federal funding, they must also adhere to fairness to a certain extent and can no longer act as arbitrarily as before.
In the Star Wars canon universe, after the Galactic Empire was established, all private local military academies were incorporated and integrated into public Imperial military academies by the Imperial government. Since they are all public education, the Empire should ensure that the admission process is fair.
“Governor Tarkin believed that fear brought order…but in my view, fairness brought order.”
Fu Qinghai toyed with his wine glass and said softly.
He began to make some outrageous remarks, his voice so low it was almost imperceptible, but he was certain the other three people at the table heard him.
Order is a word that appears repeatedly and is emphasized in the various official propaganda of the Galactic Empire. It is also the main basis for the Galactic Empire to rationalize and justify all its actions—because the galaxy was chaotic during the rule of the Old Republic, while the Empire brought order to the people of the galaxy.
Fu Qinghai's words were intended to test his three classmates.
Let's see just how loyal they are to the empire.
Roxie squinted his drowsy, drunken eyes and glanced at Fu Qinghai.
Hussein scratched his head, unsure of what to say.
“You’re right, Aoyama.”
Yevander, his cheeks flushed, said earnestly:
"The empire needs to make some changes."
Fu Qinghai dislikes drinking culture, but it is undeniable that alcohol does have a unique effect at certain times.
Normally, Fu Qinghai would not make such political remarks in public, and Yevand would never dare to agree with him.
The idea that freedom and democracy bring chaos, while autocracy and dictatorship bring order, is not entirely wrong to some extent...
Fu Qinghai did not directly challenge or refute the absolute political correctness of "order," a core value of the Galactic Empire, but he attempted to reinterpret the origin of order, proposing some entirely new definitions that were diametrically opposed to Tarkinism.
It's important to know that Governor Tagin was a favorite of His Majesty the Emperor. Tagin's thoughts and opinions often represented the Emperor's thoughts and opinions. If the Emperor did not agree with Tagin's ideas, they would not be promoted at all.
Fu Qinghai may have just casually made a few political comments that contradicted the authorities, but in fact, this was a subtle form of cognitive warfare. Cognitive warfare is also an important part of war, and may even be more important than guns and cannons.
"Tch, what's so special about that?"
Roxie raised his glass and took a sip, swallowing the spicy liquor with a slight movement of his throat. He exhaled a warm breath, glanced down at the glass in front of him, and said with a slight smile:
“I knew even before I officially began my service that my promotion in the Imperial Army would always be more difficult than others, regardless of whether I was the child of a big businessman or a working-class family—simply because I am a woman, and there will always be an invisible ceiling above my head limiting me.”
Roxie put down his glass and turned to look at Yevander:
Isn't this an even greater injustice?
This time, Yevander scratched his head, speechless.
The plight of women in the military is a long-standing issue, and Fu Qinghai did not wish to comment on it.
Looking at it longitudinally, just like the increase in the proportion of technical officers, with the innovation and development of weapons technology, the physical requirements of war for soldiers are getting lower and lower, and the proportion of female soldiers in the army will definitely increase. This is a trend.
But this is not simply a matter of technological progress; the influence of traditional ideas is equally enormous.
In a horizontal comparison, the more advanced the ideology of an army, the higher the proportion of female soldiers. For example, the proportion of female soldiers in the Communist army, especially on the front lines, was significantly higher than that in the Kuomintang army at the same time.
The Galactic Empire's army happens to be a very traditional and conservative one, with very limited opportunities for female soldiers to advance; the so-called "glass ceiling" truly exists.
For example, Admiral Natasi Dalla in the Star Wars Legends universe demonstrated remarkable tactical skills and command talent while studying at Caledar Military Academy, but she failed to be promoted despite being recommended by her instructors several times. She was finally promoted by becoming Tarkin's mistress.
In contrast, viewers who have seen Star Wars movies and TV series can see that the proportion of female soldiers in the Rebel Alliance is significantly higher than that in the Imperial Army.
Women, female soldiers... this seems like a point worth exploiting, but how exactly should this point be used?
Fu Qinghai rested his chin on his hand in thought, then casually picked up his wine glass and clinked it with Roxie's; the two of them drank it all in one gulp.
What do you think of the issues they raised?
Fu Qinghai then turned to Hussein for further questioning.
"I do not know."
The chubby red-haired boy looked confused and said:
"I went to military academy because I wanted to find a decent-paying job in the army. I never thought about these issues."
This is a person of principle, Fu Qinghai understood.
"Forget it, let's drink."
The four continued to clink glasses.
In the midst of the revelry, Yevander slumped onto the table, panting heavily as if he were about to vomit. He turned his head and his gaze fell on the bar near the center of the stage.
"Hmph, a bunch of bitches."
Yevander snorted dismissively.
Fu Qinghai followed his gaze.
At this moment, a group of middle-aged men dressed in Imperial military uniforms were sitting around the bar counter. Some of them were particularly out of shape, their gray-green uniforms bulging out of their bellies, barely held together by black belts, and their pointed military caps resting on the bar table, revealing their balding, thinning hair.
Despite their advanced age and average appearance, the group of middle-aged officers were clearly quite popular in the bar. Fu Qinghai saw several attractive female cadets leave the table with their drinks and approach them to chat. They surrounded the officers, covering their lips with charming smiles.
Fu Qinghai's gaze fell on the rank insignia on the chest of the middle-aged officer on the right. Three blue squares and three red squares—colonel. This must be a group of field officers.
"Advanced Tactical Command Organization Training Camp for Ship Captains"
Yevander began to explain in a low voice:
"They came to Calida to get their prestige."
A group of Imperial Navy captains who came for further training.
Fu Qinghai immediately understood.
Surrounded by female cadets, the naval captains seemed quite pleased. They sat on high stools, leaned against the bar, and began to talk to the female cadets, boasting about their past achievements, giving advice on the students' future development, and commenting on the situation at the front.
Fu Qinghai has Lyman's ears; if he wants, no conversation in the bar can escape his ears.
"In my opinion, Mingsaka is utterly vulnerable. The Mibani Liberation Army is just a bunch of militia. I don't understand why we wasted so much time on that swampy planet. It's a pity I was sent to Calida for further training. If I had a combat squadron, I could have ended the Mingsaka campaign in three weeks."
An obese captain muttered with a smirk, his tongue slightly tied, but that didn't stop him from giving orders.
That's some serious bragging without any thought...
After hearing this, Fu Qinghai had only one thought in his mind.
According to the Imperial Navy's organization, a combat squadron consists of two attack detachments and one pursuit detachment, with a total number of ships ranging from 14 to 26. The lowest rank for a squadron commander is the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy; a naval captain can at most command a detachment. And you're giving me an attack squadron? Touch your rank insignia—are you even qualified to command a squadron?
"End the Battle of Mingban within three weeks? How? By leading the Imperial army to surrender directly to the Mibanese?" Fu Qinghai listened quietly, shaking his head and chuckling. After a couple of drinks and a few compliments from the young women around him, this captain had already lost all sense of direction, spouting nonsense about the frontline battle without a care in the world, not even worried about getting into trouble.
However, none of the cadets or colleagues around him came out to expose him, letting him boast on and on. Not only that, two female cadets even deliberately put on an admiring expression, smilingly raising their glasses to toast the captain.
"If you had been in Akisaka at the beginning of the war, this battle would have ended long ago, and there would have been no need to sacrifice so many imperial soldiers."
"Exactly! Captain Diego is so amazing, I really want to serve on your Star Destroyer right after graduation."
The two girls kept praising her while subtly probing her, which was probably their real purpose.
"Haha, you can apply to the Navy Headquarters. The USS Mackensen Star Destroyer welcomes you to join us."
The obese captain, his face flushed, laughed heartily.
Fu Qinghai was then surprised to see a naval captain with a flushed face excuse himself from the bar, saying he couldn't hold his liquor. He then put his arm around the waists of two female cadets and walked out of the bar, heading towards the dormitory area.
No, is it time to eat now?
"They are mostly female students from the Naval Academy."
Hussein took a sip of his drink in a sullen voice and said:
"I want to be assigned to a Star Destroyer right after graduation."
Star Destroyers are the mainstay ships of the Galactic Empire Navy. A single Star Destroyer can carry out orbital bombardment missions against planets. The firepower and personnel of one Star Destroyer are equivalent to those of three or four ordinary cruisers. Serving on a Star Destroyer means a better status, treatment, and promotion opportunities than on other ordinary ships.
Fu Qinghai could tell that the chubby boy was very envious.
It wasn't that I envied the female cadets who might serve on a Star Destroyer—it was that I envied the naval captain.
It's not fair to say that Hussein, the chubby guy, is sexually repressed. Put yourself in his shoes and think about it from his perspective. Imagine your brothers risking their lives on Calida to undergo all sorts of brutal training, and then on their very first day here, they have to eat? Two at a time? Who could accept that?
Who says it's difficult for women to get promoted in the military?
Fu Qinghai smiled and joked with Luo Kexi:
"See, isn't this a benefit of being a female soldier? If it were me, or Yevander Hussein, and the three of us tried to curry favor with those captains, would they have taken us to serve on a Star Destroyer?"
"Humph."
Roxie curled his lips into a cold smile:
"Hussein and Yevand are definitely out of the question, but you still have a chance."
This is probably a tacit admission that I'm handsome, right?
Fu Qinghai scratched the back of his head and thought to himself.
At this moment, Roxie seemed to see something at the bar, her expression changed slightly, and then she awkwardly turned her head away and shrank back next to Fu Qinghai, shielding herself from his presence, as if afraid of being recognized by others.
"what happened?"
Fu Qinghai asked curiously.
"I saw my roommate."
Roxy said in an embarrassed low voice.
"Your roommate? Which one?"
Fu Qinghai looked up curiously:
"By the way, aren't you from the Imperial Engineering Academy? Why do you have roommates from the Imperial Naval Academy?"
"There are too few girls in the engineering college, and it's hard to get a dormitory. I was assigned to share a room with a girl from the naval academy."
Roxie lowered his head and explained:
"The first one on the left side of the bar."
Fu Qinghai looked in the direction she indicated.
Oh? This girl...
Fu Qinghai was secretly surprised.
"Your roommate is quite pretty."
Fu Qinghai turned to look at Roxie and said.
"Where? Where?" "I want to see it too!"
Yevander and Hussein were also intrigued by this.
"Holy crap, this is really good-looking."
"Could this be considered the most beautiful girl at Calida Military Academy?"
"No, why would such a beautiful girl also..."
The two boys immediately started talking amongst themselves.
Fu Qinghai was no stranger to beautiful women; he had been with countless stunning beauties. The reason he was slightly surprised was because of Rokesi's roommate.
She bears a striking resemblance to Zhang Yuning.
She has long, straight black hair with bangs, fair skin, and a pointed chin. Her features are not as delicate as Zhang Yuning's, but they are more deep-set and have a mixed-race look. The school uniform accentuates her slender figure. She is quite tall, and most importantly, her cold and proud temperament is very similar to Zhang Yuning's.
Roxie was certainly beautiful, but her hairstyle, features, makeup, and even her demeanor were more masculine—a kind of handsome beauty. To these straight male classmates, she didn't strike them as as stunning as the navy girl. Even her way of speaking sounded like a boy's.
"I never imagined she was this kind of person..."
Roxie frowned and said in disbelief:
"I had a pretty good impression of her before, and I thought she was a pretty cool person. We even slept together last night, but today she... went to drink with those old guys."
"No, wait, what did you say?"
Yevander was immediately shocked upon hearing this.
"Is it the 'sex' I understand?"
Fu Qinghai stared intently at Luo Kexi and said seriously.
"What's wrong? What else?"
Roxie glanced sideways at the three people:
"Yes, we're in bed together, so what? Is that a problem? Training is really tiring, you know? What's wrong with us comforting each other?"
Wait, is the show in your double rooms really that good? Am I missing something since I'm staying in a single room?
After hearing this, Fu Qinghai suddenly felt that the perk of single rooms at Clifton College wasn't so appealing anymore.
Fu Qinghai's interest was piqued by Roxie. He turned his head to look in the direction of the girl, who was sitting on a high stool at the far end of the bar, where the light was very dim.
Sitting in front of her was a tall, thin, middle-aged military officer with deep-set eyes, prominent cheekbones, a striking hooked nose, and a long scar on the side of his cheek.
The two were having an earnest conversation.
Fu Qinghai used the Force skill Rozitix's Ear to quickly hear their conversation.
"My air combat win rate against the computer in the simulator is 89%, and my record against my classmates is currently 10 wins and 1 loss. Can I join your squadron with this record?"
The black-haired girl asked.
The man with the hooked nose rested his chin on his hand, pursed his lips, and pondered the question the girl had raised. He nodded and said:
"You've only been enrolled for less than a week, right? To achieve an 89% win rate in the simulator, your talent is quite good."
"At this stage, you're using TIE fighters for one-on-one combat, right? Have you simulated X-wing fighters?"
The officer with the hooked nose then spoke.
"This course has not started yet."
The black-haired girl shook her head and said.
Which model of TIE fighter jet?
The hook-nosed officer asked again.
"TIE/ln standard fighter jet."
The black-haired girl replied.
"Um……"
The hook-nosed officer nodded noncommittally.
How did you perform in the group formation exercises?
The hook-nosed officer suddenly asked.
"Uh……"
Upon hearing this, the girl suddenly hesitated.
"The win rate for group formation air combat is 34%."
In the end, he honestly told the truth.
"Your one-on-one performance is excellent, but your team performance is poor, which means you don't like teaming up with others and prefer to be a lone wolf, right?"
The officer with the hooked nose scrutinized the girl and said calmly.
"I... am... that's how it is."
The girl lowered her head somewhat awkwardly.
"I think my teammates are all stupid."
She whispered a defense of herself.
The officer with the hooked nose remained silent for a second or two.
"No matter which fighter squadron you serve in in the future, mine or someone else, here's a piece of advice, kid: once you leave this bar, I will never admit that I said those words."
The officer with the hooked nose leaned forward slightly, getting closer to the dark-haired girl, and whispered, word by word:
"If you can't learn how to form groups and operate in formation..."
"You can never fight against X-wing fighters!"
……
"Ah—hiccup!"
Yevander yawned and then let out a burp.
"My bladder is so full, I need to go to the toilet."
Yevander, drunk, got up from the table and said.
Three seconds after he left the booth.
Fu Qinghai also stood up and left the table, saying:
"I need to use the restroom too."
……
Inside the men's restroom of a bar.
Fu Qinghai pushed open the door and came in. He saw Yevander standing in front of the innermost urinal, completely unaware that he had come in. Yevander pulled down his pants and urinated on his own.
Fu Qinghai glanced at the door to the next cubicle.
Each cubicle was empty.
Fu Qinghai stepped forward and stood next to Yevander.
"How are you, brother? Are you alright?"
Fu Qinghai said as he unbuckled his belt.
"Uh...not bad, Aoyama."
The young Black man answered somewhat confusedly.
You seem a little angry today.
Fu Qinghai looked at the white tiles in front of him and said calmly.
"I'm very angry, Aoyama."
Yevander mumbled incoherently:
“I thought of my fellow townsmen, those idiots who can get into this military academy without doing anything. I saw those naval captains, one of them taking two pretty girls back to his dorm... I don’t know, I’m just so angry, Aoyama.”
"Then you'll be even angrier after you start serving in the military."
Fu Qinghai shook his hands and laughed, saying:
"Once you officially join the army, you'll find that your superiors and officers are not only higher in rank and position than you, but they might even be dumber than you! Haha, you'll find that not every general becomes a general because of some extraordinary ability. On the contrary, some of them are just a bunch of good-for-nothings who became your superiors because they had enough seniority and connections."
"Damn, what you're saying makes me feel even worse."
Yevander curled his lip indignantly.
He pulled up his pants as he spoke.
Have you ever thought about changing all of this?
Fu Qinghai suddenly turned to look at Yevander.
"Change...what?"
Yevander raised his head, somewhat bewildered.
"You said at the dinner table that the empire should make some changes. How should it change? Have you thought about how to do it specifically?"
Fu Qinghai asked in an unusually serious tone.
"I do not know."
Yevander was even more bewildered after hearing the question.
"You see that screen in the training base lobby? My GPA is higher than everyone else's. Let me tell you the truth, I will graduate early, and I will enter the army before you. As I said before, there are just too many mediocre and incompetent people in the Imperial Army. Have you ever thought about how long it will take for us young soldiers without connections or backgrounds to finally get ahead?"
Fu Qinghai turned to face Yevand and questioned him.
Every word he uttered was as sharp as a bayonet.
Yevander immediately sobered up.
It felt like someone had suddenly poured an ice bucket over your entire body.
He blinked and stared blankly at Fu Qinghai:
"What do you want to do, Aoyama?"
"You know what I'm going to do, brother."
Fu Qinghai's gaze was sharp as a knife as he stared at him:
"We must unite closely together: you, me, Hussein, Roxy, us who have no family background, us sons of farmers and workers, or those who have been treated differently because of our gender. I will be the first to enter the Imperial Army, and once I have power, I will definitely promote you first. We will become a powerful new force in the Imperial Army, and no one will be able to ignore us!"
Yevander's mouth was half open, unable to speak.
Fu Qinghai continued to elaborate on his ideas:
"We have no connections, no family background, we are not scions of some incredibly wealthy and powerful family in the core world, and we are not willing to sell our dignity to gain promotion like those prostitutes behind the bar, but unity is our source of strength!"
What exactly does Fu Qinghai want to do?
What he wanted to do was very simple.
As mentioned many times before, when an army becomes large enough, it will inevitably develop internal organizations that transcend rank and command chains. Examples include Chen Lifu and Chen Guofu's Central Club (CC Clique), Chun Doo-hwan's "Il-shin Society," Yoon Seok-yeol's "Chung-am Faction," and so on.
In the Warhammer 40K universe, a very similar entity also emerged within the Astartes Legion, called the "Warrior Society." This entity played a very negative role during the Horus Rebellion, contributing to the Space Marine rebellion.
Fu Qinghai wanted to establish such an organization.
He wanted to create a secret faction or group within the Galactic Empire's army that would obey only him. These soldiers would be united by some common trait or common goal, and would engage in inbreeding within the Imperial army, helping and promoting each other, eventually forming a huge force.
"Do you understand it?"
Fu Qinghai stared intently at Yevander and asked.
“I understand, Aoyama.”
Yevander's gaze gradually shifted from confusion to determination, and a wildfire slowly ignited in his pupils.
A fire called "ambition" has been ignited.
“Listen to me, Yevander.”
Fu Qinghai pulled out a black and gold lightning eagle wing badge that he had prepared beforehand from his pocket and said in a deep and serious voice:
"This isn't a spur-of-the-moment decision or a sudden impulse. I've thought about this for a long time, and you've always been my top choice. After I graduate early and leave the military academy, you'll continue to recruit like-minded classmates and even teachers to further strengthen our organization. Do you understand?"
"Understood, Qingshan!"
Yevander nodded vigorously, his face flushed.
It wasn't because I was drunk, but because I was excited.
Fu Qinghai handed the badge to Yevander:
"This is our organization's secret token. The material of this badge is very special. In the entire galaxy, the only people who can make this material are either dead or people I know, so almost no one can counterfeit it. Whoever holds this badge is considered to be one of us. I'm giving you all the badges; you can decide who can join us."
In the entire Star Wars canon universe, the only group that has mastered the Force Shaping technique is the Night Sisters, and they are the most senior members of the Night Sisters. There are only a few Night Sisters left now, so Fu Qinghai's statement is not wrong.
Yevander solemnly accepted the pile of badges.
His breathing quickened and his chest heaved.
"I've come up with a name for this organization."
Fu Qinghai stared intently at Yevander and said:
"Let's call it 'Sky Eagle Society'."
"And you and I are the original founders of the Sky Eagle Society. We swear here, right here in this toilet, that we will always be united and never betray each other!"
"I swear!"
Yevander clenched his fist firmly.
