Chapter 193 Failure
Chapter 193 Failure
Alan heard the laughter coming from the walkie-talkie. She frowned, stopped the car, opened the door, and checked the machine gun and ammunition in the back seat.
The truck stopped to pick up Alan. Abraham poked his head out of the window and shouted, "Hey kid! What are you doing!"
"Check my machine gun and ammunition."
Alan replied while holding the walkie-talkie. She didn't want to speak loudly as it would waste her energy.
Although there are plenty of food resources in the trunk, Alan doesn't like to do meaningless things.
"What?! You still have a machine gun?!"
Abraham opened the door and jumped out of the truck. He walked to Alan's car and saw the desert-colored MG338 machine gun in the back seat through the window.
"Oh my god! What type of machine gun is this?! This feels very similar to the equipment I used when I was in the military. But I have never seen it before."
Abraham held his thighs with both hands, bent down and carefully observed the machine gun in the car, his face showing shock and excitement, like a big boy seeing his favorite toy.
"Don't think about it now. I only have a thousand rounds of ammunition."
Alan opened the car door and got into the driver's seat.
"Well, we are teammates now. You must let me try it if you have the chance."
Abraham still stared at MG338.
"There will be a chance."
Alan did not refuse. Abraham had gained some of her trust. This old man was indeed a good man. He met her and Gabriel on the road successively, and proposed the goal of going to Washington to save the world, and invited them to go together.
Abraham didn't care about Gabriel's black identity, nor did he care whether he was a weakling or a burden.
But the idea of Abraham bringing Eugene to save the world is ridiculous. Alan doesn't think there is still a government in Washington, otherwise the Destiny Front would not have developed for so long. The army has absorbed a large number of government remnants, and he has never heard of this news.
Eugene must have deceived Abraham, Alan was almost certain of this, but she didn't want to point it out to Abraham. She could see that Abraham had a good mentality wandering in the outside world, and perhaps "saving the world" was the meaning of Abraham's existence.
Such a person is suitable for the Destiny Army. If Abraham performs well on the way to Washington, or can reach more consensus with himself, Alan doesn't mind giving him new meaning in life when Abraham's dream bubble bursts after arriving in Washington.
A playful smile appeared on Alan's face. She had lived in school for half a year and fought in Savannah for another half a year. She didn't expect that she would encounter such an interesting thing when she took the initiative to contact the outside world for the first time.
Now everyone can breathe happy air.
Abraham restarted the truck. In the woods on the bumpy road, zombies had already discovered the convoy, and the roar of the truck engines was a loud noise wherever they went.
"Hoo..."
A mutilated zombie, with bite marks on one shoulder and lacerations all over the upper body, crawled out of the woods.
Its ribs were exposed, rotten flesh was stuck to the skeleton, and black organs were coagulated by black blood in the chest cavity.
On the truck, when Gabriel noticed the appearance of the zombies, his expression suddenly became sad and regretful.
It was a familiar face in the church, a believer…
"Do you know it?" Eugene noticed Gabriel's expression and asked.
Gabriel didn't say anything. He joined this team just to survive, and he and Eugene were not familiar with each other to the point where they could talk about everything.
Besides, now he had no choice but to go to the small town with the team, the place he believed was destined to be punished.
Gabriel was in no mood to answer Eugene.
Eugene turned his head away when he saw this, and he became even more annoyed with Gabriel.
The truck's wide tires flattened the dirt road in the countryside. Abraham, who was driving the truck, did not notice that the huge footprints were being covered by the traces of the truck.
After more than ten minutes, the sounds of the woods and cicadas gradually disappeared, the road became much smoother, and the convoy finally drove out of the path and entered the town.
Gabriel was in the back of the truck, closing his eyes and silently thinking of God, praying for God's forgiveness. Eugene took this opportunity to stare at him, trying to figure out what Gabriel was thinking.
The truck was driving on the town road. Abraham saw some scattered zombies. Several stiff figures were standing in the middle of the road. After hearing the rumbling sound of the truck, they did not avoid it but walked towards the front of the truck.
"Come on you sons of bitches."
Abraham held the steering wheel carefully. The military truck could still hit these weak little zombies, and there were many overturned and burned vehicles on the roadside, so the military truck could not avoid the zombies.
Bang! Ka-la-ka-la!
The moment the zombie's body came into close contact with the military truck, its rotten body began to deform on the front of the truck, and the sound of bones breaking could be heard.
Then, the truck accelerated and knocked the zombies away one after another, then drove forward quickly, crushing the zombies rolling on the road under the truck, and balls of blood exploded under the truck.
Bang bang bang! !
The car following the truck had no time to react. The broken corpses of the zombies left behind by the truck caused the car driven by Alan to shake violently. Alan was so shocked that he immediately grabbed the steering wheel and controlled the vehicle to stabilize.
"You should warn that girl."
In the truck, Rosita saw the car reflected in the rearview mirror rising and falling violently several times, and said to Abraham with some concern.
Abraham also realized his carelessness. He immediately picked up the intercom and asked Alan:
"Are you okay, Alan? My bad, I forgot to tell you about the road conditions."
Alan was steering the car. The road had become smooth and the car was back to normal. She was about to pick up the intercom to tell Abraham that she was fine when the car's engine started to roar...
"Shit, the car is going to stall."
Alan cursed for the first time on the intercom. She didn't expect the car to be so cruel.
A few seconds later, the car came to a halt in the middle of the road. Alan turned the key repeatedly to start the car, but the engine just beeped a few times and then there was no response.
