Chapter 1096 The things you tidy up are always the best.
Shen Qing looked at Yan Bei with gentle eyes.
Her voice was soft, yet it was like a warm current, slowly flowing into Yan Bei's heart, soothing all his restlessness and unease.
Shen Qing snuggled against him, like a contented kitten.
After a while, she looked up again, her eyes darting around, and pointed to a snail slowly crawling on the lawn in the distance. She laughed and said, "Look at that snail, is it mocking us for being too slow? Shall we have a race to see who gets back to the door first?"
Before Yan Bei could answer, she had already let go of his hand and ran forward with a child's smile.
"Shen Qing!" Yan Bei called out helplessly, but a gentle smile appeared in his eyes as he strode after her.
The night was gentle, and a light breeze was blowing.
On the garden path, the crisp, melodious laughter of children chasing each other temporarily dispelled all worries and sorrows in the tranquil night.
That once aloof and shrewd business tycoon is now just an ordinary man being amused by his wife and chasing after happiness.
Seeing his brows gradually relax and his eyes regain their smile, Shen Qing finally felt relieved.
She knew that no matter how big the storm, as long as they were together, they could weather it together.
……
Shen Qing and Yan Bei returned to the villa.
Seeing that Yan Bei's displeasure had subsided, she felt relieved.
"How many days will you be on this business trip?" Shen Qing asked.
"I don't know the specifics, but it will take at least two or three days. I'll come back once things are settled over there."
"Okay, I'll go pack your luggage now."
"Thanks for your hard work."
"Isn't this what I, as a wife, should do?"
"Go take a hot shower first, I'll come upstairs and help you get ready now."
"Uh-huh."
Shen Ran and Shen Qing went upstairs.
Enter the bedroom.
On the other side of the dressing room were Yan Bei's clothes.
Like a mini fashion show, Yan Bei's half of the area was filled with suits, shirts, ties, and cufflinks, each item perfectly pressed and arranged with meticulous care, just like him—always precise, restrained, and unquestionable.
But he never had time to pack his luggage for business trips himself, or rather, he had long been used to her taking care of everything for him.
Shen Qing rolled up the sleeves of her loungewear and began to prepare.
She opened the cabinet deep inside the dressing room, which was specifically for storing suitcases, and pulled out a black Tumi suitcase of a suitable size—understated, durable, and in line with Yan Bei's style.
"I'm going to Haicheng tomorrow. The temperature there is about five degrees lower than here, and it will rain." She murmured to herself, as if reminding herself, or as if speaking to Yan Bei.
She first selected two dark suits from the suit section: a classic charcoal gray suit, suitable for formal meetings; and a dark navy blue suit, which was slightly more casual.
She carefully placed the suit into a dust bag, then laid it flat on one side of the box to make sure it wouldn't get wrinkled.
Next came the shirts. She chose three white shirts and two light blue pinstripe shirts, all made of high-count cotton, which is breathable and doesn't easily lose its shape. She carefully folded each shirt, slightly offsetting the collars, and neatly stacked them next to the suit.
Ties are details that showcase taste. Shen Qing opened the tie cabinet, which was filled with a dazzling array of ties: silk, wool, printed, and solid colors. She matched several understated yet sophisticated ties to match the colors of his shirt and suit. One of them, a deep burgundy with subtle patterns, was the one she personally felt best suited his skin tone.
She rolled up the tie and put it into a special tie box.
Cufflinks were also essential. She chose two pairs—one was his usual plain platinum style, understated and sophisticated; the other was a birthday gift she gave him last year, obsidian inlaid with small diamonds, exuding a subtle luxury within its formality.
Given the tight schedule, she didn't bring many clothes, but each piece was carefully selected.
She knew Yan Bei well; he was very strict about clothing and paid close attention to his image when he was out in public.
In the toiletries section, she opened his usual black toiletry bag and put in his usual shaving cream, razor, moisturizing lotion, and perfume samples.
She also carefully prepared a small box of commonly used cold medicine and stomach medicine, packed it in a sealed bag, and placed it in the inner compartment of her toiletry bag.
Finally, she took out a small leather notebook and a Montblanc pen and placed them on the top shelf of the box.
She knew that Lu Yanbei had a habit of recording his thoughts at any time.
After finishing all this, she carefully checked everything to make sure nothing was missed. The suitcase was packed neatly, every inch of space was used efficiently, yet it didn't feel crowded at all.
She gently closed the suitcase and zipped it up, her movements delicate.
Just then, the bedroom door opened. Yan Bei walked out, dressed in well-tailored dark loungewear, a hint of relaxation in his expression. His gaze softened instantly when he saw Shen Qing standing beside her suitcase.
"All packed?" He walked over, gently wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, rested his chin on the top of her head, and spoke in a slightly husky, magnetic voice.
"Hmm, check if there's anything you've forgotten?" Shen Qing turned her head to meet his deep eyes.
Yan Bei glanced at the neatly packed suitcase, then looked down at the woman in his arms, a barely perceptible gentle smile playing on his lips: "What you pack is always the best."
He paused, then picked up the box containing the deep burgundy tie. "You picked this out?"
Shen Qing blushed slightly and nodded: "Yes, I think it looks good with your charcoal gray suit."
He chuckled softly, tightened his arms around her, and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead: "You've worked hard, my wife."
Neon lights flicker outside the window, while the interior is filled with warmth and affection.
Shen Qing nestled in his warm embrace, listening to his steady heartbeat, and whispered, "Have a safe journey tomorrow."
This is perhaps the most ordinary and authentic side of her as Yan Bei's wife—not the glamorous image in front of outsiders, but in this private space, cooking for him, packing his bags, and becoming the warmest and most solid support behind his illustrious career.
"Okay, let's go to bed!"
"it is good!"
As Shen Qing got into bed, she asked, "What time is your flight tomorrow?"
"At eight o'clock in the morning."
"Will Yang Jian come with you?"
"Yes."
"That's good. I'm relieved that Yang Jian will go with you."
"By the way, Liu Xinxin called me today and said that if I'm not back by then, you can go in my place."
"She's getting engaged so soon?"
"Uh-huh."
"Okay, I understand." Shen Qing pouted. "But I still hope you come back soon."
"I'll definitely come back as soon as I've finished dealing with things. I've missed you so much these past few days," Yan Bei said.
Shen Qing smiled and said, "Then remember to let me know you're safe every day."
"I understand, honey. If anything happens, just give me a call, and I'll send someone to help you."
"Yes, yes, what could possibly happen to me? Don't worry."
"it is good."
