Chapter 109 Connection
Chapter 109 Connection
Jiang Yang and Chi Ruiche left together, and their car was parked on the Yangtze River Bridge.
Late at night, only a few cars flashed by on the bridge. The river below, in the pitch-black night, resembled a bowl of dark soup.
Jiang Yang leaned against the car, his eyes lowered, his phone flashing intermittently in his hand. "How much of what Jiang Xue said is true?"
Chi Ruiche gazed at the starry sky and exhaled deeply under the faint starlight.
“She doesn’t look like she’s lying; these things aren’t being planned by just one person.”
"Jiang Xue and Zhou Guangzhen conspired together. But it was easy for Zhou Guangzhen to conspire with Jiang Xue. They needed someone to pave the way."
"This person is the 'Chi Ruiche' she mentioned." Chi Ruiche frowned, unconsciously clenching his fists.
Jiang Yang looked puzzled. "Xiao Yiben rarely shows his face. Could it be the Yu family?"
“Now that Zhou Guangzhen has fallen, they’ll quiet down for a while. The most important thing now is the person behind Li Yue.” Chi Ruiche became unusually calm, letting the wind blow his coat.
Jiang Yang turned off his phone again, choosing to shut it down directly. "Is Li Yue awake?"
"They found her unconscious and she is still unconscious."
Chi Ruiche went to Jiade City after receiving a message from Li Yue. He originally wanted to rush there as soon as possible, but he was still a step too late.
"From its appearance in New Zealand to the water forest and then to Garde, it's not that you found it, but that someone wanted you to find this information."
Jiang Yang continued his analysis, saying that the network was getting bigger and bigger. "Xiao Yi has been protected by his grandfather since he was a child, and he was allowed to have his way with his little tantrums. In recent years, he has rarely shown his face."
Chi Ruiche stood there silently, seemingly deep in thought.
“I suddenly understand why Grandpa made Xiao Yi live as a boy. My aunt also lost her life inexplicably, and we still haven’t found the real culprit.” Jiang Yang looked up at Chi Ruiche, his expression serious.
A flicker of emotion crossed Chi Ruiche's eyes. He suddenly realized his mistake and began to re-examine his direction.
"Suppose that the Guo family initially benefited from Li Yue's death, but now that the Guo family is gone and Zhou Guangzhen is gone, these steps may seem unrelated, but in fact, Guo Yuantao and Zhou Guangzhen were people I eliminated."
"You mean, this person was the one who stirred up all of this?"
The river water, carried by the river breeze, forms eddies of varying depths that swirl within it.
"Once we find the connection between them, everything will become clear."
A car drove out in the distance, its high beams shining on them, as if a bright light had illuminated the long-lost darkness.
Okay. Let's do it together.
Jiang Yang extended his fist, palm down.
Chi Ruiche and he bumped fists, and at that moment a certain agreement was reached.
"It's getting late, let's go back." Jiang Yang got back into the car and drove away with Chi Ruiche.
"I heard from Abu that you planned a marriage proposal but didn't go?" After finishing their business, Jiang Yang couldn't help but gossip.
"I felt that approach was too unoriginal, so I gave up on it."
Chi Ruiche rested his head on one hand on the passenger seat, gazing into the distance at the endless, dark river.
"You're getting engaged the day after tomorrow. Aren't you planning to give my sister a proposal? I really did a proper proposal back then." Jiang Yang couldn't figure it out.
"My Yi-Yi must have everything." Another plan came to Chi Ruiche's mind.
Jiang Yang felt like he'd been force-fed a mouthful of dog food (a Chinese slang term for witnessing public displays of affection), so he asked, "We're here, let's go."
Chi Ruiche tiptoed and rinsed himself off again before lying back down next to Jiang Yi.
Jiang Yi vaguely smelled a pleasant scent, and instinctively moved closer to Chi Ruiche's arms, nuzzling him a few times before finding a comfortable spot to continue sleeping.
"I'm here."
Chi Ruiche held her with one arm and brushed the hair from her cheek with the other, carefully calling her name, his tenderness melting her heart.
