Chapter 310 Whose physiognomy is better?
Chapter 310 Whose physiognomy is better?
In 710 AD, Li Xian died suddenly. Some say that Empress Wei poisoned him. She intended to make Li Chongmao the emperor, and she herself would serve as regent as the empress dowager, and then emulate Wu Zetian and become emperor.
However, just when she was just one step away from usurping the throne, Li Longji and Princess Taiping instigated the imperial guards to defect and launched the Tanglong coup. Faced with this sudden change, Empress Wei panicked and fled to the Flying Cavalry Camp, where she was beheaded by a Flying Cavalryman.
Princess Anle also failed to escape the fate and was beheaded by soldiers. The Wei family was also exterminated. Empress Wei was demoted to a commoner after her death.
[He can be called the number one Feng Shui master, more experienced than Yuan Tiangang and Li Chunfeng. A little historical knowledge of Feng Shui]
He is the most famous Feng Shui master and is known as the founder of Chinese Feng Shui. His saying "When looking for a dragon, you must look at the mountains around it, and each layer of mountains is a barrier" has made many tomb raiders successful, and also put countless people in jail for it.
He brought the art of emperors from the palace to the people, and the people respectfully called him "Mr. Jiuping". However, he was eventually plotted against and poisoned to death. He was the founder of Feng Shui, Yang Gong, Yang Junsong.
When it comes to Feng Shui, people may think of Li Chunfeng and Yuan Tiangang, but in fact, in the field of Feng Shui, they are ranked behind Yang Gong.
There is a saying: "The ten-day Feng Shui master Ming Yunsong has extraordinary ability to control time and space. In troubled times, he travels the great road of wonders and walks through mountains and rivers with endless clouds." It is talking about Yang Junsong.
Yang Junsong was born in 823 AD in Tang Dynasty Douzhou, which is now Xinyi, Guangdong. He was very smart since he was young and had a photographic memory. His neighbors praised him as a child prodigy.
Yang Junsong passed the imperial examination at the age of 17 and entered the official career. At that time, he was obsessed with Feng Shui metaphysics and had a high level of attainment. The emperor took a fancy to his ability and appointed him as Jinzi Guanglu Dafu, who was specifically responsible for Lingtai affairs. It can be said that he was in great glory.
However, at the end of the Tang Dynasty, the country was in chaos, politics was corrupt, and the Huang Chao Uprising broke out. The rebels broke through Chang'an in an instant, and the people were in dire straits. Yang Junsong witnessed the tragic situation and despaired of officialdom. He resolutely resigned and devoted himself to the people with his superb Feng Shui secrets.
From then on, there was one more "foreign wine bottle" in the world. After leaving Beijing, he went to Kunlun Mountain to explore the mysteries of mountains and rivers, and then went to Ganzhou, Jiangxi. At that time, the war was raging and the people were suffering.
Yang Junsong was compassionate and used the art of feng shui to find suitable places for the poor to live. He often did so for free and provided relief to the poor. The people respectfully called him "Mr. Jiuping."
In Ganzhou, Yang Junsong also recruited many disciples and taught them the secrets of Feng Shui. Zeng Wenchan was one of his most talented disciples. The two had a deep friendship. They traveled all over the mountains and rivers in southern Jiangxi, observing the trends of mountains, the direction of water flow, and the ups and downs of the terrain to judge the quality of Feng Shui.
Zeng Wenchan devoted himself to his studies and eventually became a Feng Shui master. The legendary story between them became a popular legend in the local area.
It is said that there was a vassal named Lu Guang in Ganzhou. He was ambitious and wanted to dominate the world and become an emperor. He heard of Yang Junsong's name and begged him to find a Feng Shui treasure land for his mother, hoping to use Feng Shui to dominate the world.
Yang Junsong agreed to it out of pity. After the death of Emperor Midgar, Lu Guang was greedy and afraid that others would know more about the treasures, so he turned his kindness into enmity and poisoned Yang Junsong. When his life was in danger, Yang Junsong was filled with grief and anger, but he did not panic.
He asked his apprentice Zeng Wenchan to find Lu Guang after his death and tell him that he had only pointed out half of the feng shui. Money alone was not enough. He also needed to fill water in this place and dig a well at the crossroads to destroy Lu Guang's aura as an emperor.
Sure enough, when Lu Guang was preparing to live permanently, he could not bear the pain and hanged himself. Yang Junsong can be regarded as a master of Feng Shui.
The Feng Shui school he founded was later called the "Situation School" or the "Jiangxi School". His works, such as "Han Wen Jing" and "Long Qing Nang Ao Yu", systematically expounded the Feng Shui theory, and described in detail the methods of finding dragon veins, looking at sand hills, and determining acupuncture points, providing guidance for Feng Shui practitioners.
His works are extremely valuable and were included in the Siku Quanshu, playing an important role in the inheritance and development of traditional Chinese Feng Shui culture.
In his Feng Shui practice, Yang Junsong left many legends. In his early years, Yang Junsong was an honest official who often helped the people. After resigning from office, it was difficult to support his family with his salary, so he took Feng Shui as a sideline and became famous.
Someone asked him why he didn't look for a treasure land for his ancestors. He was well aware of Feng Shui and said that his family could not bear such a rich and noble land, and if he forced the burial there, it would inevitably bring disaster.
Later, under the persuasion of his elder brother, Yang Junsong reluctantly made the move. His elder brother revealed that his father's mountain was a place of prosperity, which could build the family for 10 years, but the grave had to be moved after 10 years, otherwise there would be disaster. After his elder brother moved the grave, the Yang family really prospered.
Yang Junsong loves mountains and rivers by nature, and often travels to observe Feng Shui. Once, his good friend from Jiangxi came to tell him that he had found a Feng Shui treasure land in his hometown. It looked excellent at ordinary times, but once he went up the mountain, it was covered with clouds and fog, making it difficult to identify.
Upon hearing this, Yang Junsong excitedly rushed to Jiangxi with his friends, and stayed there for more than 10 years. He was so enchanted by the beautiful scenery and Feng Shui secrets of Jiangxi that he forgot about moving the graves.
Late one night, Yang Junsong dreamed that his ancestors urged him to go home, saying that if he didn't return, the Yang family would be extinct. He woke up and hurried back to his hometown, only to find that the Yang family had already fallen into ruin, and his mother and grandson were begging for a living.
Yang Junsong was deeply distressed and sighed to the sky, saying that this was God's will. If he had known this would happen, he would have regretted acting against God's will.
Yang Junsong hurriedly found a good spot, chose a good day, and prepared to move the tomb. At that time, the Yang family's ancestral tomb was lifted by a drum with a rope, and Yang Junsong led his clansmen over mountains and ridges, going through hardships.
After they climbed over several peaks, the rope suddenly broke without warning, and the ancestral grave fell onto an unknown slope.
Yang Junsong was shocked at first, thinking to himself that it was not good. However, when he calmed down and carefully observed the surrounding environment, he was surprised to find that the Feng Shui aura of this place was better than the place he had been looking for before, relying on his many years of Feng Shui experience.
He could not help but turn his worry into joy, secretly rejoicing in his heart, and immediately decided to bury his ancestor. Later, the Yang family really prospered again.
After all these twists and turns, Yang Junsong has been living in his hometown, taking good care of his mother until his mother passed away and his nephew got married and started a family. Only then did he feel relieved to return to Jiangxi and continue to devote himself to the career of finding dragon points and teaching his skills.
Where exactly is the Yang family's Feng Shui treasure land in Jiangxi? No one knows anymore. Yang Junsong's influence is not limited to southern Jiangxi. His Feng Shui theory has been passed down from generation to generation through his disciples, just like water waves spreading farther and farther.
In the Ming Dynasty, Feng Shui masters such as Liao Junqing and Zeng Congzheng inherited Yang Gong's skills and carried forward geomancy, making southern Jiangxi the birthplace of Chinese geomancy. His story was widely spread among the people, inspiring future generations to explore the mysteries of traditional culture.
[The first divine fortune teller in Chinese history, who even calculated the time of his own death. Historical trivia: Guo Pu]
He was the best fortune teller in the Qing Dynasty. He read fortunes more than 60 times in his life, and every time he did it was accurate. He not only predicted the Rebellion of the Eight Kings and the Five Barbarians, but he also accurately predicted his own death.
He was the first fortune teller to propose the concept of Feng Shui. One of his works was regarded as a classic by the tomb-robbers of later generations. His theories influenced Chinese Feng Shui culture for more than 1000 years. He was the greatest fortune teller of all time, Guo Pu.
Although many people say that Liu Bowen and Li Chunfeng were great, many of their miraculous deeds were actually fabricated by unofficial history. However, Guo Pu is a real person recorded in official history.
Guo Pu was born in 276 AD into a family of officials in Wenxi, Shanxi. His father, Guo Yuan, was the governor of Jianping in the Western Jin Dynasty.
Guo Pu showed a strong interest in classics and academics since he was young. He was diligent and studious and had great talent. According to the "Book of Jin·Biography of Guo Pu", he wrote more than 14 volumes of poetry and prose in his lifetime. Among them, "Traveling to the Immortal World" is the most representative one, with poems still extant, which is the originator of the Chinese "Traveling to the Immortal World" style of poetry.
However, compared with his literary achievements, his attainments in astrology, divination, feng shui and geomancy are even more amazing to the world.
In his early years, Guo Pu had the good fortune to meet Guo Gong, who was proficient in fortune-telling, and got nine volumes of "Qing Nang Zhong Shu". Since then, he studied day and night and learned the skills of yin and yang, astronomy, the five elements, fortune-telling, etc. At the end of the Western Jin Dynasty, the world was in chaos.
During the reign of Emperor Hui of Jin, turmoil broke out in Hedong. Guo Pu was deeply worried and sighed after a divination that the country was in decline. He predicted that the people would be ruled by foreigners and their hometown would be ravaged by the Xiongnu. This prediction was the later Eight Kings Rebellion and Five Barbarians Invasion.
In order to avoid the war, Guo Pu resolutely led his relatives and friends to migrate south. This accurate prediction made Guo Pu famous from then on.
When Guo Pu arrived in Lujiang, the local governor Hu Mengkang asked him to predict the situation. Guo Pu saw the crisis and advised Governor Hu to leave, but Governor Hu was unwilling to listen because the situation seemed stable.
Guo Pu took a fancy to a maidservant under Governor Hu, but found it difficult to ask for her, so he used magic to scatter red beans and dendrobiums around Governor Hu's house to create the illusion that there was a monster in the house.
Guo Pu took the opportunity to suggest that Governor Hu sell the maid, and he arranged for someone to buy her at a low price. A few days after leaving Lujiang, Lujiang fell, which once again confirmed Guo Pu's judgment.
Later, Sima Rui and Wang Dao led the Jin people to cross the river south and establish the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
Guo Pu was appreciated by Wang Dao and was appointed as a military officer. Wang Dao asked Guo Pu to tell his fortune. Guo Pu predicted that Wang Dao would be struck by lightning and told him the solution: go west for dozens of miles, find a cypress tree, take a section as long as your body and put it where you sleep.
Wang Dao did as he was told, and a few days later the cypress tree was indeed struck by lightning and shattered, replacing him. Wang Dao was very surprised and recommended Guo Pu to Emperor Yuan.
Guo Pu also predicted that ancient ritual vessels would be unearthed, and said that this was a good omen, indicating that Emperor Yuan was approved by heaven to be the emperor. After hearing this, Emperor Yuan valued him very much.
Guo Pu's skill in Feng Shui site selection was even more amazing.
After his mother passed away, he personally selected a grave for her. The chosen place was less than 100 meters from the river bank, and everyone thought it was a water hole. Once there was a flood, his mother would not rest in peace, which was a taboo in Feng Shui. Some people even accused him of being unfilial. But Guo Pu firmly believed in his choice, saying that the water would recede and the surrounding area would become fertile fields.
As a result, there was no more flooding after Guo's mother was buried, the river course was changed, and the surrounding wasteland became fertile farmland. After this incident, Guo Pu became even more famous.
There is another interesting thing about Guo Pu. Guo Pu paid little attention to health preservation and was addicted to wine and sex.
His good friend advised him not to indulge in excessive drinking and sex, so as not to shorten his life. Unexpectedly, Guo Pu said, "Even the King of Hell can't control my life span, so why should I be afraid of a little drinking and sex?" Unfortunately, the King of Hell couldn't control it, but Wang Dun could.
Wang Dun was Wang Dao's cousin and a great contributor to the founding of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. However, he was too ambitious and wanted to rebel and usurp the throne, so he asked Guo Pu to help him.
Guo Pu knew that this was a rebellious act and said frankly that the uprising would not succeed. Wang Dun was unwilling to give up and asked Guo Pu to calculate his life span. Guo Pu told him frankly that if he started the uprising, he would be in great trouble soon, but if he stayed in Wuchang, his life span would be indefinite.
Wang Dun became furious when he heard this, and asked Guo Pu: "Then do you know how long you can live?" Guo Pu said calmly: "I will die at noon today." Wang Dun was so angry that he really killed Guo Pu at noon that day.
Guo Pu was 49 years old at the time. Later, Wang Dun started a rebellion, and soon he got a strange disease that could not be cured. He died soon after. This further proved that Guo Pu's predictions were accurate.
After Guo Pu died, his descendants left Qingzhou and no one knew where he was buried. A few years later, Emperor Ming of Jin built a tomb for Guo Pu by the Xuanwu Lake in Nanjing, which was still preserved during the Republic of China period.
The Ming Dynasty painter Shen Zhou wrote in his poem "Yongfeng Water": "The air is scattered and the wind is full, how are the bones of the teacher? The escaped soldiers have not yet been released at noon, and the world all believes in the collection of books." He was talking about this incident.
Guo Pu was not only an expert in divination and fortune-telling, but also had fruitful achievements in academic writings.
He annotated ancient books such as the Book of Changes and the Classic of Mountains and Seas, and his annotations were detailed and profound, providing important references for later generations to study these classics. His book, The Book of Burial, has influenced Chinese Feng Shui culture for more than 1000 years and is regarded as a classic by later tomb robbers.
A sentence in The Book of Burial, "Qi disperses with the wind and stops at the water. The ancients gathered it so that it would not disperse and moved it so that it would have a stop, so it was called Feng Shui" became a classic interpretation of the concept of Feng Shui and established his status as the founder of the Feng Shui community.
There is also a folk legend about the origin of the idiom "Jiang Lang's talent has run out". When Jiang Yan, a writer of the Southern Dynasties, was demoted in his early years, he dreamed that someone gave him a colored pen. After waking up, his ideas flowed and he wrote many excellent works, which were appreciated by the emperor and promoted to a higher position.
However, in his later years, Jiang Yan dreamed that Guo Pu asked for a colored brush. After waking up, Jiang Yan had run out of ideas and could no longer write good poems. This is where the allusion of "Jiang Lang's talent has run out" came from.
——"Hahahaha, the predecessors buried according to the book, and the later generations dug according to the book. This is so vivid."
——"As expected, there are 360 professions, and every profession has its top talent."
——"Guo Pu, we call him Guo Gong. As a Wenren, I still remember that when I was a child, I heard about the historical allusion of the white deer holding flowers and the construction of the city by the Guo Gong. Now there is a Guo Gong Mountain on Wangjiang Road, and there is a statue there for several years."
——"What is the Qing Nang Sutra? I have never heard of it. Has it been lost?"
——"Who is more powerful between you and Yuan Tiangang?"
