Chapter 253: Past Dreams and Mortal Tribulations 8
Chapter 253: Past Dreams and Mortal Tribulations 8
Just a few months passed, and all living things covered by thick snow revived, sprouted tender green fangs, and the tenderness of spring hung on the branches.
After the little fox recovered from its injury, it did not leave but instead stayed with Feng Moli every day and refused to leave.
February 2 Flower Festival
Feng Qi woke Feng Moli up early and dressed her up. The girl in the mirror had a little baby fat but it couldn't hide her stunning beauty.
She was wearing a light white gauze dress with light blue embellishments on the sleeves and collar, and a lifelike daffodil embroidered on her chest.
When I arrived at the dining hall, I saw that Xu had already arrived and nodded slightly, "Auntie."
"The second young lady is here~" Xu stood up and nodded with a kind smile.
Feng Moli sat next to her, and Feng Qi hurried over to pour her a cup of tea.
The two chatted about family matters, and Feng Ruoxi saw this scene when she arrived. "Second sister, mother."
"Second sister, mother."
"Xi'er and Yang'er are here, please sit down." Mrs. Xu looked at her two children and spoke softly.
Over the years, Feng Moli had very little contact with the two. Whenever they met, they would just brush shoulders and nod.
Madam Feng and Feng Xuan came together. As soon as she came in, she saw Feng Moli and smiled. "Li'er."
The girl stood up and ran to Old Madam Feng's side, supported her and called her affectionately, "Grandma~"
Then he let go of her hand and bowed to Feng Xuan. His voice was no longer intimate, but rather a little cold. "Li'er greets his father."
"Xi'er has met his father."
"Yang'er has met his father."
"I have met the master of the house."
"Yes. Everyone, get up." Feng Xuan nodded and looked at Old Madam Feng, "Mother, please take a seat."
Old Madam Feng nodded and pulled Feng Moli towards the table.
Halfway through a meal
Madam Feng looked at Feng Moli lovingly and said, "Li'er, grandma is going to stay at Ningyun Temple for a few days. How about Li'er staying with grandma?"
Spring is here, and our Li'er is going out for a walk with his grandmother. "
Although Feng Moli was not very willing to go out, she could not help but understand the hopeful look in Old Madam Feng's eyes.
"Okay, grandma." Feng Moli finally nodded and agreed. Old Madam Feng would often go to Ningyun Temple to burn incense and pray for blessings.
It's not like he hadn't called her in previous years, but Feng Xuan would always stop him. This year...
"Mother, is it inappropriate that she..." Feng Xuan frowned and glanced at Feng Moli
Xu frowned slightly and pulled his sleeve to stop him from saying anything else. "Master, stop talking."
Madam Feng's eyes were full of determination to take Feng Mo away. "She? What happened to Li'er? She is not your biological daughter? Why do you keep holding on to what happened back then?"
Is it possible for a newborn baby like her to influence such a thing?"
The sound of heavy slapping on the table and the sound of dishes and chopsticks falling to the ground startled everyone.
Feng Moli forced a smile and said flatteringly, "Okay, grandma, my father must be worried that I am too naughty and make grandma unhappy."
"How could that be? My Li'er is grandma's sweetheart. She is not a stubborn person." Old Madam Feng still had the anger from before and scratched the tip of the girl's nose.
Feng Xuan lowered his head, remembering that Xuanyuan Xin had already anticipated a difficult birth and left him a letter asking him to take good care of their daughter.
But for sixteen years, Feng Xuan couldn't do it. He could never get over the hurdle in his heart.
He clenched his fists and stood up and left
Looking at his back, Old Madam Feng became angry again.
"Second Miss, don't take it to heart. Your father..." Xu was a little embarrassed and didn't know how to comfort Feng Moli.
"Aunt, I'm fine." The girl smiled lightly and shook her head, not showing any concern at all.
Such things have happened countless times over the years. She can no longer remember how many times this has happened. She has long been numb and no longer cares...
Second day
Feng Moli and Old Madam Feng got on the carriage and left the city.
It only takes half a day for the carriage to reach Ningyun Temple.
Half an hour later, Feng Moli opened the window of the carriage and drew aside the curtains to admire the scenery.
The little fox curled up on Feng Moli's legs and fell asleep. Old Madam Feng looked at the girl's smiling face from the side and felt sad.
Peeling a pomegranate in his hand, he placed all the seeds on the plate. "Come, Li'er, have some fruit."
Feng Moli turned around helplessly when she heard the voice and said, "Grandma, you still think I'm a child. I'm grown up now and can take care of you."
"You will always be grandma's little baby. You will never grow up." Old Madam Feng doted on him.
The girl chuckled and put the pomegranate into her mouth. "The ones peeled by grandma are sweet."
"I think you, little greedy cat, have a sweet mouth." Old Madam Feng laughed out loud in a good mood and gently pinched the girl's cheek
"Grandma, you eat too." Feng Moli said without stopping her hands, feeding the old lady the pomegranate.
Old Madam Feng smiled and wanted to say something
There was a sound of fighting outside, and Feng Moli's smile froze. She would be assassinated every time she went out.
I don’t know if this time… Seeing Madam Feng’s calm expression, I felt less panicked.
Feng Moli looked through the carriage window at three men in black surrounding a woman. The woman had sword wounds of varying sizes, and her clothes were stained with blood.
The woman covered her wound with her hands, her eyes were sharp, and she gritted her teeth to deal with the assassin who was trying to kill her.
"So many people, bullying a little girl." Old Madam Feng looked over through Feng Moli's window and shook her head.
Feng Moli frowned and had a bad feeling in her heart. She shook Old Madam Feng's sleeve and said, "Grandma, let's go."
Madam Feng looked disapproving and said in a serious tone, "You can't watch someone die without saving Li'er. What did grandma teach you?"
The girl lowered her head and couldn't help but retort, "What if it's a bad guy?"
Madam Feng stroked her hair and said, "Silly girl, doctors are here to save the world, good people and bad people all have the same life. Grandma hopes that you, Li'er, will always be a kind girl."
"I know, grandma. I listen to you the most." The girl raised her head and smiled with her eyes narrowed.
The woman here saw the carriage and quickly bypassed the assassins and ran over, "Save me. I can't die."
The woman hit the carriage and gasped as she touched the wound on her body and grabbed the carriage window.
"Drive those people away." Old Madam Feng spoke, and the secret guards hiding in the dark jumped out.
There was a fierce sound of swords clashing, and the three assassins were successfully driven away, while the woman fainted due to excessive blood loss.
Old Madam Feng ordered people to carry the person into the carriage, and Feng Moli resigned herself to applying medicine to her and bandaging her wounds.
It was almost late when we arrived at Ningyun Temple.
Feng Moli asked the monks to prepare a meditation room for the injured woman and asked Feng Qi to send his luggage over.
Then she looked at Madam Feng and pretended to be angry and pouted, "Are you satisfied, grandma?"
"Satisfied, satisfied. Our Li'er is kind-hearted." Old Madam Feng laughed.
Follow the abbot to the Buddhist temple to burn incense.
The abbot's eyes followed Feng Moli all the time. After the girl finished burning incense, she saw that Old Madam Feng was still praying with her eyes closed, so she stepped back two steps.
Looking at the abbot with a gentle smile, "Master, you have been watching me since I entered Ningyun Temple. Is there anything wrong with me?"
The old abbot fiddled with the Buddhist beads in his hand and said, "Amitabha, the female donor's fate is strange, so I took a closer look. Please forgive me for offending the female donor."
The girl shook her head nonchalantly, "It's okay, Master, don't feel offended."
He sighed, shrugged and smiled helplessly, "It's just a disaster."
The old abbot said with a kind smile, "Destiny is created by oneself, appearance is created by the mind, everything in the world is a transformation, everything is unmoving, the mind does not change, and everything remains unchanged."
Feng Moli's eyes turned and her two small canine teeth were exposed again. She imitated his gestures and said, "Thank you for your guidance, Master."
