Transmigration: Experiencing Life's End - Dying Peacefully in One's Sleep

Chapter 629 The Hunt for Crimes Illustrated Guide 2 1

Chapter 629 The Hunt for Crimes Illustrated Guide 2 1

Feeling cold and stiff all over, and experiencing pain in her chest, Zhong Ning opened her eyes.

The first thing she saw was a white ceiling. Her gaze moved up to her body, where a fruit knife was stuck straight out of her chest.

Blood stained his white clothes, and there were still traces of half-dried blood at the corners of his mouth.

Zhong Ning, without changing her expression, reached for the knife, just as she was about to pull it out.

"Host, don't pull it out, someone's coming, they're almost here."

Xiao Qi spoke up to stop her, having just figured out the situation in this world herself.

Upon hearing this, Zhong Ning withdrew her hand and simply lay still: "Was the original owner killed?"

"Yes, host, and the original owner did not just die."

"So, I've ended up inhabiting a corpse again."

No wonder I felt increasingly cold and chilly.

In her memory, there was another time when she had just arrived in a new world, and the original owner of this body was dead and lying in a coffin.

"Yes, host, but I suggest you faint. The police and forensic doctors are coming."

The host's body has been stabbed so many times and lost so much blood but hasn't died. If he still looks completely fine, it would be quite horrifying.

Zhong Ning sighed and closed his eyes. The knife in his chest first protruded a little, then tilted slightly to the side.

The original owner died from being stabbed in the heart; at that depth and location, it was impossible for her to still be alive. She had no choice but to take matters into her own hands.

She used her spiritual power to heal the wounds left after the knife was withdrawn.

Since she could only lie there for the time being, she decided to do it this way: "Xiao Qi, transfer my memories to me first!"

"Good host."

A flood of memories washed over her, but Zhong Ning paid no attention to the outside world. However, she allowed her unconscious mind to remain clear until it was completely gone.

She knew someone was approaching her; the repeated checking seemed to be confirming that she was still alive.

"The victim is not dead yet, get him to the hospital immediately!" A surprised female voice rang in my ears.

Zhong Ning felt her head being slightly raised and tilted to the side, presumably to prevent her mouth and nose from being blocked and causing difficulty breathing.

A series of hurried footsteps sounded, and she was carefully lifted onto a stretcher.

Then more footsteps approached, and a male voice asked in confusion, "What's going on? What's the victim's condition?"

"She's not dead yet, she's still breathing," the woman's voice replied.

Next, you can hear the man giving orders, telling everyone to investigate.

Zhong Ning felt the sound getting farther and farther away, so she stopped listening. Following her body's reaction, she let herself fall asleep and began to examine her memories.

This is my second time visiting the world of "Hunter's Guide to Crime," but the story tells the second half of the protagonist's story, which is a sequel.

The story follows portrait artist Shen Yi, criminal investigation captain Du Cheng, and their colleagues at the police station as they continue to solve a series of cases.

The original owner's name was Fang Qingyan. She had just graduated from university two years ago and was an illustrator who had been working in the industry for a little over a year.

She earns money by taking orders online or by publishing and promoting her work on online platforms.

Because she prefers flexible working arrangements, she doesn't enjoy socializing or going out much.

Aside from the occasional trip to the supermarket to buy snacks and fruit, or to pick up packages, takeout, or take out the trash, she rarely goes out.

However, the original owner was very satisfied with her current situation; she was content with the feeling of being able to freely control her time.

Freelancing is unstable; sometimes she gets few orders and doesn't earn much money. But she has a good attitude: she spends more when she earns more and less when she earns less.

Her expenses mainly consist of food, rent, electricity, and phone bills—essential costs for maintaining her daily life.

Logically speaking, a girl who has had very few contacts, no bad habits, normal values, and a good personality would not be murdered.

Unfortunately, she came from a family that favored sons over daughters. The original owner of this body was born into such a family and ultimately died because of it.

The original owner's home was in the mountains, and his parents and grandparents were ordinary farmers.

They were all deeply influenced by feudal ideology, believing that a family should have a son to carry on the family line, while girls were useless and would belong to someone else's family after they grew up.

This meant that she had to help with chores at home from a young age, and not only did she not get enough to eat, she was also beaten and scolded.

The original owner's younger brother was the family's darling, doing nothing and being pampered with utmost care.

This led to him being spoiled by his family, and he grew up to be a complete good-for-nothing.

The original owner rarely went back after graduating from university, and could try to stay away from such a family.

But how could her family possibly let go of a daughter they had raised with such difficulty, only to find her old enough to be exploited by her family?

Without her consent, they found her a boyfriend from the same village named He Wang.

To put it nicely, it's about finding a partner; to put it bluntly, it's about selling your daughter to someone else.

He Wang was considered a successful young man in the village. His family was better off than others, having built a new house and bought a car.

Therefore, their family has always been the envy of everyone else in the village.

The original owner was good-looking and a college graduate who had gone abroad. Once, when she returned home for the Chinese New Year, she was targeted by He Wang.

Knowing that she worked in the city, they contacted her parents.

The original owner's parents were both thin-skinned people, and having accepted benefits from their family, they didn't care what would happen to their daughter.

They probably think that their daughter will enjoy a life of luxury after marrying into the family.

First, the original owner's parents found out where she lived and then told He Wang about it. The original owner was harassed and had no choice but to move.

But her parents always find a reason to soften her heart and reveal where she lives. Every time, they lie to her at first and say they won't tell anyone, but then the same thing happens again.

He Wang kept coming to see her. The original owner was a girl who was a bit socially awkward. She only thought about moving to escape and didn't dare to call the police.

Even if the police are called, the original owner's parents will probably side with them.

As for the original owner's death, it was because He Wang found an opportunity to force his way into her home. He not only touched her inappropriately, but also tried to force himself on her.

The original owner naturally began to resist. When she was driven to desperation, she picked up a knife to hurt him, but she was not as strong as He Wang. During the struggle, he took the knife from her and she was accidentally killed.

He Wang killed someone and fled in a hurry, without even closing the door. The original owner of the body fell to the ground and died. It was only in the morning that the neighbor next door discovered the body and called the police.

Fang Qingyan didn't wake up immediately after receiving the memories; instead, she fell asleep right away.

When she regained consciousness, she found herself lying in a hospital bed.

"You're awake?" a gentle voice asked.

The man sitting on the sofa walked towards the hospital bed.

Fang Qingyan didn't move when she heard the sound. She felt a bit of pain in her chest, probably because the anesthesia from the surgery had worn off and the wound was hurting. She was also receiving an IV drip in her hand.
