Chapter 603 The Legend of Zhen Huan An Lingrong 60
Chapter 603 The Legend of Zhen Huan An Lingrong 60
Lipin and Cao Guiren looked at each other in bewilderment. They knew that Hua Fei was heartbroken. The Hua Fei who once fought for favor at all costs was now like a stagnant pool of water, without any waves.
Concubine Cao sighed and said, "My queen, please take care of yourself. Life in the harem will be hard without the emperor's favor."
Concubine Hua sneered, "Not having a good life? No matter how hard my life is, it's not as bad as those abandoned concubines in the cold palace. At least, I still have the Yikun Palace and my brother."
Hua Fei's sneer echoed in the empty hall of Yikun Palace, like the howling north wind in winter, chilling to the bone. Lipin and Cao Guiren moved uneasily, knowing that the once domineering Hua Fei had completely changed.
"Your Majesty, you..." Lipin wanted to persuade her further but was interrupted impatiently by Huafei.
"Okay, let's all go back. I'm tired." Concubine Hua waved her hand as if to drive away two annoying flies.
After Concubine and Concubine Cao left, Yikun Palace became even more deserted. Concubine Hua walked to the dressing table, looked at her increasingly haggard face in the mirror, and smiled bitterly. She picked up a golden hairpin and rubbed it repeatedly in her hands, her eyes empty. This golden hairpin was given by the emperor in the past, when she was the most favored person in the world, how glorious it was.
Now, everything has changed.
An Lingrong's belly grew bigger day by day, like a gradually full peach, hidden under her luxurious palace dress, rising and falling slightly with her gentle steps.
Whenever Yinzhen saw her, he couldn't help but reach out and stroke her, feeling the rhythm of life, his eyes full of tenderness.
That day, Yinzhen reviewed the memorials until late at night. Rubbing his sore brows, he stood up and walked to the window. The late autumn night breeze brought a hint of coolness, blowing away his fatigue. He looked up at the bright moon, but his heart was thinking about An Lingrong.
"Su Peisheng," Yinzhen called out, "Go to Yongshou Palace."
In Yongshou Palace, An Lingrong had not yet gone to bed. She was reclining on the couch, needle and thread in her hands.
The baby in the belly seemed to sense the arrival of its father and kicked gently. An Lingrong gently stroked her belly with a faint smile on her lips.
When Yinzhen came in, he saw such a warm scene. He walked lightly to An Lingrong, sat down, and held her hand.
"It's late, why aren't you sleeping yet?" Yinzhen's voice was low and gentle.
"I can't sleep. I'm thinking about the emperor. I'm waiting for him." An Lingrong raised her head, her eyes moving with a hint of coquettishness.
Yinzhen was amused by her appearance and gently scratched her nose: "I was thinking of you too, so I came here just after reviewing the memorials."
An Lingrong snuggled into Yinzhen's arms, feeling his warm embrace, and felt an indescribable sense of peace in her heart. Yinzhen's hand gently stroked her belly, feeling the movement of the baby, his face full of love.
"This little guy is quite lively." Yinzhen said with a smile.
"Maybe she's happy because she knows the emperor is coming." An Lingrong said in a sweet voice.
The two of them snuggled together, talking about family matters, the atmosphere was warm and sweet.
As the little prince in An Lingrong's belly grew bigger, she became more cautious in her every move. Yinzhen was even more nervous, wishing he could protect her all the time. That day, he came back from court and went straight to Yongshou Palace.
He pushed the door open, but didn't see An Lingrong. Yinzhen frowned slightly and called out, "Rong'er?"
"Your Majesty," An Lingrong's voice came from the inner room, with a hint of smile: "I am here."
Yinzhen lifted the beaded curtain and saw An Lingrong sitting on a soft couch by the window. The sunlight shone through the window lattice on her body, casting a golden halo on her. She was holding a needle and thread in her hand, concentrating on sewing something.
When Yinzhen got closer and took a look, he discovered that it was a small bellyband. There were a few cute little ducks embroidered on the goose yellow brocade. The stitching was fine and the pattern was vivid.
"Are you making clothes for my prince?" Yinzhen's voice softened unconsciously, his eyes full of smiles.
An Lingrong raised her head, a shy blush on her face: "I have nothing to do, so I thought of making some small clothes for the children. Your Majesty, do you think this design is good?"
Yinzhen picked up the small bellyband and examined it carefully, his eyes full of tenderness: "Okay, of course it's good. But let the sewing work be done by the palace maids, don't tire yourself out."
An Lingrong shook her head gently, took the bellyband back from Yinzhen, and continued sewing: "I want to make it myself, it will be more meaningful. When the child grows up, I can show it to him and tell him that it was made by his mother."
Yinzhen looked at An Lingrong's serious expression, and a warm feeling surged in his heart. He walked behind her, gently put his arms around her shoulders, rested his chin on the top of her head, and said softly, "You have worked hard."
An Lingrong felt Yinzhen's body temperature, the corners of her mouth slightly raised, and she closed her eyes happily: "For the emperor, for our children, this concubine will not work hard."
Her hands kept moving, the needle and thread shuttled across the brocade, making a slight rustling sound, like a gentle lullaby. Yinzhen just held her quietly, feeling the tranquility and warmth.
After a long while, An Lingrong finally put down her needlework, stretched herself, and said in a tender voice, "Oh, I've been sitting for so long, my waist is sore."
Yinzhen quickly helped her stand up, gently kneaded her waist, and asked with concern: "Are you feeling better?"
An Lingrong nodded, leaned on Yinzhen, and said coquettishly: "Your Majesty still loves me."
“Hmm…” An Lingrong leaned lazily in Yinzhen’s arms, her eyes moving around like a satisfied cat.
"I want to eat osmanthus cake and... sweet and sour fish." She winked playfully.
"Your Majesty, please remember this."
Yinzhen smiled dotingly, picked her up and laid her on the bed, saying softly, "I'll ask someone to prepare dinner. What would you like to eat?" He leaned over and kissed her lightly on the forehead before turning and leaving.
She stroked her bulging belly and murmured, "Child, you must come into this world safely."
Dinner was placed on a small table in the east side hall of Yongshou Palace, and Yinzhen and An Lingrong sat opposite each other. An Lingrong had a good appetite and ate a lot of sweet and sour fish and osmanthus cake. Yinzhen looked at her with tenderness in his heart, and served her dishes from time to time.
"Where's my mother-in-law?"
An Lingrong was almost frightened to death. Who dared to let the emperor call her like that!
"Your Majesty, what are you saying?" An Lingrong asked stutteringly, her face so red that it seemed like blood was about to drip out.
Seeing her like this, Yinzhen couldn't help but chuckle. He reached out and gently touched the tip of An Lingrong's nose, saying lovingly, "Don't be nervous, I was just joking."
An Lingrong finally felt relieved and gave Yinzhen a reproachful look: "Your Majesty, why do you always like to scare me?"
