Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone

Chapter 793 - 508: Abyssal Secret Letter, Developing [Spirit Tomb]

Chapter 793 - 508: Abyssal Secret Letter, Developing [Spirit Tomb]

In any case, the appearance of caves full of demons in the Northern Wilderness was definitely not a good omen.

"Then," Yan Yan said, "let’s go find some other Beastmen to take our frustrations out on."

Deputy Head Lin Qingshan nodded repeatedly. "Lieutenant Fang Zhou is right. I think there might be more than one such cave in the Northern Wilderness."

Yan Yan also nodded in agreement.

He had witnessed the transformation of the Abyssal Beastmen firsthand. He felt that relying solely on the magical conversion performed by those few Mad Eagle Demons was far too inefficient; there were nowhere near enough of them for all the human Professionals to kill.

So, either there were multiple similar evil caves scattered beneath the Northern Wilderness, or the Beastmen had other methods.

But in any case, the battle against the Beastmen clearly couldn’t end just like this.

Fang Zhou nodded with a smile; he was actually thinking the same thing. The most urgent task was to report this anomaly to the Beast Fighting City military and then find as many other demon caves as possible to harvest them one by one.

「Wasteland of Strife, the Blood Moon hung silent.」

"Success at last!"

Inside the Tomb’s research room, Fang Zhou’s face lit up with delight as he looked at the brand-new architectural blueprint in his hand.

After killing and consuming the Ghost Lord, Fang Zhou had handed over all military and political authority of the territory to Tidamia and Sain. Aside from devouring the Soul Fires of some Mutated Undead to deepen his racial foundation, he had been holed up in the research room, trying to use the Spiritual Remains authority he had mastered to create a new Undead building.

Now, he finally had a result.

The new building he developed was named [Spirit Tomb], a cemetery that produced Ghosts, just as the name suggested.

Initially, Fang Zhou had tried to explore a path for evolving the Corpse Knights into Spiritual Remains Knights like himself. Unfortunately, after extensive research, he had to reluctantly conclude that evolving from a simple fusion of a Zombie and a Skeleton into a Spiritual Remains Knight with Spirit Body attributes was not something that could be achieved overnight.

Fortunately, Fang Zhou had no shortage of patience and perseverance. He decided to start his research from the basics: giving his Tomb Territory the ability to mass-produce Ghosts. The [Spirit Tomb] was a new Undead Unit Building designed for this very purpose.

With the blueprint in hand, Fang Zhou naturally summoned Tidamia and had him begin construction without delay.

Soon, the Spirit Tomb was completed.

Fang Zhou walked out of the Lord’s Hall and looked up. The main structure of the Spirit Tomb was a massive tombstone, beneath which lay many relatively exquisite graves. They were far more refined than the hastily dug graves in the Skeleton and Zombie graveyards. Of course, like other Undead Unit Buildings, an altar stood before the Spirit Tomb’s tombstone, ready for Fang Zhou to deposit Soul Crystals.

Fang Zhou prepared to summon some Ghosts for an experiment. He wondered what difference there would be between the Ghosts produced by this Unit Building and the Ghosts naturally born and raised in the Undead Realm.

Producing Ghosts required not only a huge amount of Soul Power but also a special resource called [Soul Core]. Fortunately, Fang Zhou had collected quite a few of these prerequisite resources from the Ghost Lord’s territory. He had also successfully developed a resource production building within the Tomb to produce these Soul Cores. Although the output was low, a steady trickle over time had allowed him to accumulate a considerable surplus.

Opening the operating panel for his Spiritual Remains authority, Fang Zhou invested a large amount of Soul Power and his stored Soul Cores into the altar before him.

The main structure of the Spirit Tomb, the massive tombstone, suddenly stirred.

First, an eerie pattern materialized at the top of the tombstone, followed by a black figure flying out from a grave behind it. Then, one after another, four more patterns emerged from the tombstone, and with them, four more black figures simultaneously flew out of the other graves.

These patterns from the tombstone and the spirits from the graves slowly merged.

Then, just like Sain, the Abomination Chieftain, the leader of the Ghosts appeared before Fang Zhou.

It’s a woman?

Fang Zhou looked in surprise at the female Ghost bowing gracefully before him. Indeed, although the female Ghost’s skin was slightly pale and she didn’t look particularly healthy, she could still be called a beauty.

She wore a beautiful and tidy pleated skirt, her body floating gently in the air. A few will-o’-wisps hovered behind her, giving her an appearance that was both eerie and enchanting. This also served as a reminder of her identity; she might be beautiful, but she was undeniably a Ghost.

"Greetings, my Lord. Please bestow a name upon me," the Ghost Leader spoke softly.

Her voice was slightly hoarse, but it wasn’t a lifeless monotone. Instead, her way of speaking held a certain allure for Fang Zhou.

An Elegant Ghost!

Seeing her appearance, coupled with her ethereal voice that carried a distinctly feminine magnetism, Fang Zhou suddenly thought of the term.

However, Fang Zhou’s Spiritual Remains Clone had been dealing with Skeletons and Zombies for the past two years. He hadn’t seen many women and didn’t even know Undead Creatures could have gender distinctions. But Fang Zhou’s main body, the Undead Mage, had been living quite well all this time. Instructor Su Xinyan was the daughter of a Legendary Powerhouse. As a beautiful and powerful Golden Tier Great Undead Mage, her charm was worlds beyond that of the mere Bronze Tier Ghost Leader before him.

Therefore, after a brief moment of astonishment, Fang Zhou quickly refocused on the matter at hand.

"Rise. I shall name you Leblanc. May you be as dangerous and powerful as the Deceitful Demoness."

"As you command, my Lord! Leblanc is willing to serve you until death."

The Ghost Leader, Leblanc, bowed slightly before rising, her eyes filled with longing and admiration.

A smile of anticipation spread across Fang Zhou’s face. He pointed to the research room behind him and said to Leblanc and the other four Ghosts, "Come, follow me inside. Lie down and let me study you properly."

Fang Zhou was now very interested in the strength of these Tomb-produced Ghosts like Leblanc. He intended to study them thoroughly before attempting to merge them with his Corpse Knights, hoping to forge a powerful Personal Guard of Spiritual Remains Knights as soon as possible.

「North of Beast Fighting City, deep within the Beastman Wilderness.」

After eradicating the demons in that cave, Fang Zhou promptly reported the battle’s progress and his discoveries to the Beast Fighting City military. He placed special emphasis on the Desecration Scroll he had seized from the Mad Eagle Demon Leader. It contained unknown information that required prompt deciphering and interpretation by the military’s High Tier Scroll Masters.

With the greater good in mind, Fang Zhou did not insist on hunting more Beastman Raider Teams and instead led the Flame Medal Adventurer Group directly back to Beast Fighting City. Fortunately, they hadn’t ventured too deeply into the Northern Wilderness and returned safely after two days of a forced march.

Fang Zhou went to find Lieutenant Colonel Shen Zhongyun, the officer he was most familiar with. He handed over the seized Abyssal Desecration Scroll, successfully completing the mission and accumulating a large amount of merit in the process.

After bidding farewell to Lieutenant Colonel Shen Zhongyun and the Flame Medal Adventurer Group, Fang Zhou leisurely strolled to the Adventurer Association. After fighting for over half a month, he felt a bit weary. It was the perfect time to head to the Adventurer Association to dispose of the various spoils of war he had collected and see if there were any recruitment missions that interested him.

Alas, peaceful days always seemed fleeting.

Half a day later, Fang Zhou had traded his recent spoils at the Adventurer Association for 40,000 Magic Stones. He was just about to find a few students from the Sea City Military Academy to have some tea and catch up when Instructor Shen Zhongyun made an emergency call.

"Fang Zhou, the Abyssal Desecration Scroll you seized has been deciphered. Just like the last time the Demon Worship Sect invaded the Fierce Beast Mountain Range, this was also a cross-dimensional revenge operation organized by one or more Legendary Demon Lords."
